i have seen so many interviews/vids with stephanie beatriz, and i don't think i will ever get over her real voice
she’s just supposed to be ROSA DIAZ!!!
Omg
Hahaha same here
Huh? She sounds exactly like Mirabel Madrigal
@@phel0049 ma’am i meant rosa diaz from brooklyn nine nine lol
Stephanie Beatriz is a really curious mix
She was born in Argentina, her mother is Bolivian, her father is Colombian, and she's American
That is some unique combination right there but we love the result 😁
That's some major "chiledominicurican" energy
@@lantsov8347 hell yeah i loved that musical
Her mom is Bolivian!!!! Omg I didn't knooow, represent Steph!
"uh, my mom is dominican-cuban, my dad is from chile and p.r. which means..."
Stephanie: My mom in the movie
Diane: OUR MOM
Made me laugh so much omg 😂
Such sisters energy hahahaha
I found the timestamp. It's 1:16 if anyone else gets lost.
"it was MY wedding day" "OUR wedding day" type beat
That part came on right as I was reading your comment 😂
@@judelunzaga8970 😭😭😭😭
“I learned this during my time in prison” Not enough appreciation to Diane’s callback to her time on OITNB! Love you Maritza!
I was looking for this comment LMFAO
What if Rosa Diaz was the one who put her behind bars?
@@georgewang2947 Lmao
Oh god I spent the ENTIRE VIDEO trying to figure out how I knew her. I AM ASHAMED.
t..that's a nod at Good Fellas. They shave the garlic into slices like that with a razor.
Ok but Diane’s makeup, clothes, and beauty are giving such princessy vibes 👸🏻🥰 💜
And Ariana vibes from her recent days in X Factor, I love it so much!💜💜💜
Like her character!
isabela was made for her
her outfit screams “modern day Isabela”
speaking of which, does anyone know where I could find a blouse similar to the one Diane's wearing. Thaanks.
I love how they are normally speaking English and them boom spanish
That happen to me ALL the time
It extremely funny
In Texas we call it "Spanglish"
I joke that my native language is Spanglish 🤣🤣🤣 hearing it from others, especially spanish speaking comedians, is hilarious.
oh wow you’re cute
No because I'm mixed and my parents aren't together but I'm normally with my mom and when I'm talking to her I forget she doesn't know Spanish like me so when I say something in Spanish while just talking in English she completely shuts down and tries to guess what I said 😂😂
same except im filipino
I love the fact that the voice actresses are also Colombians, as the characters. that is what representation is really about.
Stephanie was born in Argentina and grew up in US (dad is Colombian and mother Bolivian). Diane was born in the US and grew up in the US (both parents Colombian), therefore, Diane wins
@@donqaz5078 it's not a competition of who's more Colombian?

I think Mirabel’s power is Casita itself. She’s the only one who can speak to la casita. She’s also a really good dancer, caring, and athletic. ❤️
Abuela does as well. When they are having breakfast and Casita moves Maribel next to her
I agree lol, but they can all speak to casita tho
@@misalexy i'm sorry i might be wrong, but i don't recall the other members talking to la casita. i just remember how it helps the members of the family. the only member i remembered who communicates to it were abuela and mirabel. i might be wrong, but yeah.
Abuela speaks to Casita but more commands. Mirabel converses with it
oooh that is a good theory. the two people who dont have powers are the ones who converses with casita. everyone else dont feel the need to talk to the house because they dont need "help"? they can get by with their powers.
Born and raised in Kentucky, so Encanto actually introduced me to arepas and got me reaaaally interested in making them. I just finished a batch of five and they are DELICIOUS. Can't wait to make more!
Colombia has over 50 varieties to offer ;)
@@camilogonz9062 I'm so excited to try more. I just started with the basic cheese stuffed arepa.
Happy for you! 🇨🇴
The arepa is Venezuelan
@@carlosbellorin9227 The arepa is actually pre-Colombian in origin, meaning that it was around before either Colombia or Venezuela existed as we know them. The arepa is native to both Colombia AND Venezuela.
I see a lot of people saying arepas aren't from Colombia. Yeah, the movie never said they originated here, but they're a great part of Colombia's gastronomy, we make all kinds of different arepas. Let's all stop trying to gatekeep latino gastronomy, the whole point about our culture is that it's a mix of many different traditions. Much love from Colombia! 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
This is so true! I'm venezuelan and honestly I've never understood the conflict between the "true origin" of arepas. Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador were literally the same country before, so of course there's going to be a lot of things we have in common (even though almost everyone has their own way of making the same dish)
@@anabencomo896 I'm just glad arepas exist! I'm Puerto Rican/African American and we make them with beans, soup, greens and they are great with everything!
@@WickedIsPopularyall are making me hungry that sounds super good
Colombia, Venezuela and Panama were Pre- Colombia and that’s were the arepas were originated
It's such a latinx thing to do to argue about where foods are from😂😂
Grew up with a Colombian stepmother and when her family visited we had arepas. They didn’t speak English and the first thing I learn to say to them was “quiero arepas con queso y huevitos”
So cute ❤️
Haaa awesome
That's actually so cute 🥺 arepa y huevitos is the best breakfast
That’s literally the first thing my boy who is 2.5y/o learned to say n Spanish. 🥰
LMAO this is so wholesome for colombians
I love when Stephanie says 'Ghee' and Diane has no idea what Ghee is 😂. Im Indian and Ghee comes from Ancient India, and I personally love the whole Latina/Hispanic Culture, so it was really nice to know that she knew what Ghee was 😂😂
Same
"Spanish"? She's not Spanish
@@Marizze9810 it took me a long while to realize some people just call the culture or food of all Spanish speaking countries “Spanish”. I thought they just assumed it was literal Spain. Even Spanish people from Spain would get mad at that 😅
Ok
Yea same!!
My mom always mixed the cheese in with the dry corn meal then we added milk with melted butter to make the dough 🤤 beautiful memories
That sounds. AMAZING! xox

Stephanie is so adorable!! I'm so glad that she's doing so well, though I'm sad that Brooklyn99 is over I just love her as Mirabel in Encanto and Carla in In the Heights. I'm looking forward to whatever she does next. She's so friggin' talented, Diane as well. I love her in Doom Patrol, they both have such range. And those dishes look so delicious!!

I choked laughing when Diane said she doesn't taste before serving so it's a "surprise to everyone!" LOL
I loved the movie “encanto” it felt like I was virtually a part of every tradition they had! I also love Diane’s make up/outfit in this video it reminds me of her character!!

So, Crazy Jane and Rosa Diaz walked into a kitchen....
I couldn't believe that these sweethearts played such intense character.
I thought Jane was Genesis Rodriguez?

@@LaineMann gina
@@greggceballos2611 no it’s not
Pretty sure they're talking about Crazy Jane from Doom Patrol and not Jane from Jane the Virgin. Diane was also in that but in another role
Stephanie yelling “VANESSA!!!” to come and eat is Latine mom vibes.
My mom yells to me like that every day when it's time to help in the kitchen or to eat so it's the most latinx thing 😭
it felt the exact same as when my mom does it 💀💀💀
Can we all appreciate how versatile these two are? Diane plays a badass in Doom Patrol while Stephanie played Rosa in Brooklyn 99 and now both play these two adorable and sweet characters in a kid's movie, I just love them❤🌟
Not to mention Diane plays a character with like 20+ other personalities in Doom Patrol (there’s more but I’m talking about what’s shown in the show), all very different from eachother while executing it incredibly.
her acting skills on Doom Patrol are next level, she literally plays like 20 different people, it is fascinating
I am in AWE that Stephanie Beatriz is the voice of Mirabel. Not only that, but she SINGS TOO.
Like, how can SHE, actress of stone cold badass Rosa Diaz, play such a sweet dorky bean like Mirabel - who just so happens to be her real voice?? The talent man.
Since when was Rosa Diaz so happy.
Edit: If you're looking for a war zone, welcome. There's a completely pointless argument occuring downstairs and you're welcome to join.
That's my point😂😂

I’m still trying to get used to Stephanie’s real voice which is very sweet and adorable. I’ve watched too much B99 and I constantly think rosa’s gravelly voice is gonna come out when I know it’s not
Yes. Same
The woman has range!
Even in modern family, "sonia" was different ❤
I just started watching b99 a few weeks before I saw encanto and it still blows my mind!
"Diane is beating me." "Diane is going to win." Well, Isabella *is* the perfect sister, after all 😂
As a Southerner and Dominican, this is the exact recipe for Hot Water Cornbread and it is so nice to see how different cultures can have similar meals and foods with different names!
Hot water cornbread 🤤
Yeah but the corn flour we use is manufactured completely different from what other latin countries use. Masa arepa or Harina Pan is what you wanna look for when you go to the store. In Venezuela, it's eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a flat bread (kinda like a tortilla or pizza base) for whatever toppings you want, whereas in Colombia it's eaten specifically as a filled hot pocket sandwich but which allows for so many kinds of ways to eat it!
Oh my, we used to have hot water bread like every week. My mom taught me how to make it. I haven’t had any in a while though😞
*I feel like she's faking the voice, she will always be Rosa Diaz to me*
ikr in b99 she sounds so deep, in an interview she's high pitched
It’s normal for people’s voices to change whilst acting lol eg rosas voice changed several times throughout b99
I am so happy to see Stephanie Beatriz in more things. And a random Goodfellas shoutout on a cooking channel is always appreciated.
Stephanie is honestly more like Mirabel than Rosa 😂 also both Stephanie and Diane’s outfits are giving me LIFE ✨
I love seeing how folks make typical dishes their own!! I’m half Mexican (Papa) and Colombian (Mama). Mom makes her arepas 🫓 a lot bigger a bit thinner and the queso fresco cheese goes atop!! 😭❤️ add unos huevitos y ya 🍳 Breakfast is served!!
There are different kinds of arepa in Colombia! So maybe that's why that arepa is different (it sounds like an arepa paisa!) ❤️
Suena súper delicioso le dire a mi mamá que las haga de esa manera 😍
Does your dad make "gorditas"? that's basically the mexican equivalent of an arepa.
@@unavidabienvivida. I literally stepped in to say that. Definitely paisa!
@@hihenry22Gorditas are basically arepas, so it would be pointless to have one parent make arepas and another make gorditas. However, gorditas are not as popular in Mexico (tacos are more popular there) as Arepas are in Colombia. So I would think that her mother's arepas are more tasty.
I miss the "you draw i cook" 😭
can someone make an animatic of their characters making arepas together? like the vibes of the actors (esp. Diane) are so similar to their characters lmao
They also Fight like siblings HAHAHAH
“Anything made with love is gonna be better”
It’s very true
I’ve had spaghetti at different houses and restaurants, but my grandmothers spaghetti is just 100% better than any other.
Similar to my other grandmothers breakfast cooking. Her eggs, beans, tortillas, etc is just better than any breakfast place(s)
As a Venezuelan, it is interesting seeing how Colombians make their arepas. It’s a different technique and I’m intrigued
We are the country with the most variety of arepas hahaha esta es la más fácil de hacer, creería yo, no me se todas las recetas jajaja
Yo estoy aquí sufriendo al ver como hacen la mezcla con una espatula y como hacen la forma de la arepa D:

“Fine I’m not waiting for you anymore”
I discovered Arepas at a Latin festival and paid $12 each for them… I fell in love and was completely broke by the end of the day… they got me
They ripped you off.
Ok but the way Stephanie screamed "VANESSA!!" at 7:57 reminded me so much of In the Heights lol
I like how the couldn't be more wrong about making arepas, but they just keep encouraging each other. You gotta really get your hands in the mix. As colombians we learn to make arepas around 12 or 13 years old
Wait what!? I learnt doing arepas when I was like 5
I don't even remember exactly how it went for me. I think it was just from seeing my mom doing them constantly 😂
yep, the dough is mixed by hand (as Diane said) and when you start to sweat from kneading it is already done (as Stephanie said) xD
I'm Colombian, but my mom never let me be around the kitchen. She said she was safeguarding my hands because I was going to become a renowned microsurgeon, which I did (not renowned, but a micro surgeon, indeed). And I learned to make arepas and buñuelos in my adulthood. :) Saludos!

Both those arepas looked amazing 🤤
My family's mexican and we would make arepas (we call them gorditas) with different flavors; cheese, potatoes, and beans. We'd eat them with sour cream, with guacamole, or just by themselves. Loved the movie so much, the whole cast and team did a wonderful job. Me encanto mucho 🤩
Oh I love gorditas. We also have a Salvadoran restaurant near us and my mom and I love to get pupusas. They are crazy good with the cortido and rice and beans. I want to try an arepa now.
Las gorditas cuentan como un tipo de arepa? Siempre he tenido esa duda
Arepas and gorditas are two separate dishes. The flour is different. That's like saying arepas when you mean tortillas.
@@danalithai extactament. El sabor es importante
Diane saying she doesn’t taste her food when she’s cooking is my mom😂😂😂
Plus the avocado in arepas omg sounds freaking good😱
They are literally their characters in Encanto. I love it!

Stephanie Beatriz: my dad makes this almost every Christmas.
Me: my mom makes them every day for breakfast.
7:56 “VANESSA!” That really took me back to In The Heights, which Stephanie plays in btw!
As a black African woman, this movie and the authenticity to the culture of Colombia is such a refreshing breath of air. I love love love it. Doesn't hurt that I've been a big fan of both of these women for years 😁
It’s crazy how different Stephanie acts from Rosa. 😂 I get she’s an actor and that is the point but it still doesn’t stop me expecting her to have Rosa-isms in real life. She’s awesome.
They both got auntie vibes rn 😂❤️
I just want to say, as a colombian, this is the first time I see they add the cheese individually, my mom (and my fam in general) add the cheese to the dough and mix it again, then you give them their form and then you fry them
2:28 "No we'll go together... but like"... Isabella 😂
I really loved when Stephanie said "Air frying an arrrrepa is the most Gen Z possible thing ever"
It's beautiful seeing how she keeps her latinx identity alive no matter what language she's speaking 😍
