Providing access to the source code now would be the bare minimum they could do and allowing us to take over where they left off
YES YES YES YES YES YES
this would actually be like the best case scenario, big open source projects grow super quickly, plus we have so many developers in the community. would be finished in no time
sadly it seems really unlikely though
That would be remarkable! I have a feeling that this companies track record wouldn't let that happen though...
They can’t
@@quality9299 we need unknown user #4512 on random messaging platform to hack into the game studio for us

Literally the best thing about this game was the cinematics. Which is really really sad 😔
This is the only thing the developers worked on. After all, this made the game sell. If they had shown us gameplay, the game would not have received even a tenth of its earnings.
It sucks when game development is dictated by powerful people who don't love games or factors unrelated to games.
It also sucks when the team is led by incompetents that should have been fired years ago.
thats coorporate america
@@doltBmBto be fair, they were held back significantly by the publishers, who tried forcing them to build off of KSP 1's code while at the same time forbidding them from talking to anyone who had worked on KSP 1 as well as popular RUclipsrs like Scott Manley
Everything is about money. Big projects just don't exist if they're not about making profits. Here we have a bunch of dummies who imitated work for years and company that just saw how bad things are.
It's not Take Two who don't love games. Tho they probably not but still. It's about devs at Intercept Games who don't know how to do their job.
@@ViktorShahter I doubt it. I’m not sure about this case , but there definitely are many disasters (like CNC4) is caused by management rather than unskilled developers.
Just makes me fucking sad. I was so keen to do interstellar travel in an engine without the jank. I had high hopes that just given enough time they'd keep working at it and fix all the issues and turn it around just like how KSP started off pretty janky and ehhhhhish.
The thing is even in the early releases of ksp1 it was enjoyable. They didn't know how to bring the game to a point where it was actually playable and kept trying to normalize wobbly rockets and a bunch of irritating bulshit that he thought was funny. Having the spokesman of the game say yeah we know there's an enormous problem that makes you insane with frustration but we think it's funny so we're not going to fix it.
That was the main reason that I just stopped trying to f****** play the game.
Tbh, after the KSP2 debacle, the KSP IP is probably worth peanuts. Ain't noway a 3rd game is met by the same hype train that happened after KSP2 announcement
Yeah the ship has sailed now. Real bummer.
It could still sell well. But only if they release a properly optimised game with a new engine and no bugs. Basically, what everyone _wanted_ from KSP2.
Whoever gets the IP would have to understand the loss of trust, and work to regain that trust with tangible results. No one's going to be excited until we get a functional, entertaining game.
A hypothetical KSP3 couldn't genereate the hype and day 1 sales potential of KSP2 this is true, but there IS potential for huge "day 2" sales. If another company were to buy the IP and actually make good on what was expected I could very well imagine a groundswell of support for the sequel we all hoped for.
whoever buys the ip will prolly just use it to make shit mobile games or something just so they can put the name "KSP" on it for sales.
The most we can hope for now is a spiritual successor. KSP2 has left a gaping hole in the 9th generation where a competent spaceflight simulator should be, and IMO its only a matter of time til some indie developer announces basically the same game with a different name and different characters.
Oh God, could you imagine Paradox getting the KSP IP? DLC abound! "Want one robotic part? $1.99!"
Paradox would just make every update like Colonies an "expansion" and then sell each update for $15.99. One company I think would be good for KSP IP is KeenSWH, the developer and publisher of Space Engineers.
If I had to choose I'd rather KSP2 went to paradox than died. Paradox get a lot of crap for their DLC maybe some of it is justified but for exampl3 with CK2 their core DLC usually only has one or 2 releases per year. Everything else is just additional music or just stuff like different clothes for factions which there's no reason to get unless you actually want them. Paradox also offers a lot of mod support and the mods are often the best part of their games.
I mean, would the game be good?
@@Jackthat1 If Cities Skylines 2 is anything to go by, no.
@@RobbieG17 😔yeah true.
the more we learn about this situation, the worst it gets 😥
Sadly I don't think we have bottomed out yet. When we finally do get some official news I don't expect it to be good. I hope I'm wrong
@@SpunieBardwe all do

The update removed the Private Division launcher. This probably means either KSP2 is being sold separately, or Private Division is being closed entirely
There are a lot of people, such as myself and nearly a dozen teams that I know of, working on some sort of space flight simulation game as a spiritual successor to KSP or inspired by it. I don't see a way forward for the IP sadly, not for the amount of money it would take to buy and produce. Something the original KSP1 creator said in an interview really hit home for me, trying to achieve 1:1 feature parity in KSP2 was a recipe for failure. That combined with being forced to use the same codebase and game engine probably doomed it from the start. Management didn't help either. Space flight simulation games have a bright future ahead, but I don't think KSP will be there in the form we may have hoped. That said, long live KSP(1)!
@@darkracer1252 😂 Where is the scam? I'm making my entire project free and open source. You played yourself.
@@darkracer1252 what scam? i see nothing indicating that he's selling or pushing anything?
I actually just learned via the KSP subreddit that the creator of DayZ and his studio (creators of Icarus and Stationeers) are in the early stages of developing a space flight sim and are trying to get in touch with former Intercept staff to come work on it.
@@Neljosmusic oh good, so it will be crap-tacular all the way through it's life...
@@Neljosmusic yeah not sure where that will go, Rocketwerkz 2017 proposal for the KSP2 bid was interesting, but I feel like they will lean too heavily into the survival gameplay and not enough into the space flight and exploration, I could be wrong though, Dean Hall has both disappointed and pleasantly surprised me before.
The future for me includes I'm never giving money to any of the companies or people involved with this thing again. I also basically will never spend money on an early release game like that.
*early release game from big studio/publisher
in theory, harvester might be interested to buy the rights, if the price is low enough. he practically is the one who invented it in the first place.
on the other hand, what is the unique trademarkable thing in KSP. the name of the alien race and the names of the locations. everything else is practically generic.
besides, selling the IP behind KSP2 would also put squad (which still exists) in a weird place.
harvester might not be terribly interested in buying that. yes, he plans to make a new rocket and space game, but why would he specifically need kerbals? make a new alien race, give them blue skin, a name that starts with another letter than K and done.
I wonder how much money the ksp community can put together for having harvester buy it back. I'd be willing to donate a few dollars if he wanted to.
I feel like they'd be best off going for more a more realistic theme of just humans in the solar systems. If they tried doing not-kerbals that might fly with other publishers but Take Two is notoriously litigious.
@@FlamingKetchup regular humans could work too. it might force players to play a bit more seriously.
but if harvester wants to go with cartoonish aliens, well there wouldn't be a lot that take two could make. even minions are totally different to kerbals.

What happens next is other scifi games no one cares about will use the song from the ksp2 trailer in their trailers and make me sad everytime I here it😢
I've already seen an advert for a sci-fi game using it. And you're right, I didn't care about that game
I've always assumed that piece of music is on an open licence because I've heard it in a bunch of non-gaming related videos over the years on youtube.
Restarted in KSP1 yesterday. Haven't played either almost a year.
Backed Blackrack for his volumetric clouds, plus Parallax & Scatterer and some other visual mods.
By the Kraken is it impressive visually. I didn't expect the thunderstorms! I kept stopping just to admire the view.
I see no reason for KSP2 at this point.
Yeah, it would be nice to have a refactored code base, but hey, that wasn't actually happening with KSP2, and is almost certainly not going to get funding now when there's basically 0 additional people that are going to purchase KSP2.
Looking at rest of KSP2 original published roadmap
Science, already in KSP1
Colonies, Would be nice to be official, but can do with mods.
Interstellar/Exploration, included Kcalbeloh System in my mods.
Multiplayer. This is potentially the only real lose. Going to try LunaMultiplyer with my son.
hate to say this, but the more time goes on, the happier I am that I didn't buy KSP2
For the price they were charging you're one of the only smart ones. AAA price for a game only 10% finished is hilarious. People actually bought it too.
If it was sold for a proper price, like $25 AUD, then sure, but hell no, not for a full $80 AUD. Only clowns spend that much for unfinished garbage.
Same. I was one of the early adopters of KSP - long before it hit Steam - but held off on KSP2. The cinematics were good but I'm always leery when they don't show much gameplay and they showed almost none before releasing the "EA" version of KSP 2. Dodged that bullet.
@@darkracer1252 they may not count 100%, but at least are 2/3 of a count. 🤔
@@sdm6054 Or maybe I am an adult with "adult money" and wanted to support what I hoped would become an even better game than the first KSP. Everyone is crying about the $50 usd (I guess 80 AUD) that they paid. Yeah, looking back it probably wasn't worth it, but I've wasted hundreds of dollars on a slot machine in a matter of minutes. Dont tell me that $50 for KSP 2 was a worse gamble then putting a hundred dollar bill in a slot machine and watching it go away in minutes. By giving my $50 dollars, i hoped to avoid this fate that has happened now. And maybe I was dumb to assume that by supporting an early access game that the developer would see it through, but either way, life goes on.
Same. Not sure why I hesitated when I have so many hours on 1 but whatever it was I'm glad I did. Today I'd be quite mad and feel ripped off.
Honestly all these major companies need to just get flashed out of existance. All these once great game companies have been reduced to greedy scumbags who ruin anything they touch or create.
Games being abandoned left and right, new patches releasing more bugs than they fix, overpriced DLCs going rampant, overpriced battlepasses that expect you to make it your job to grind through or shell out a few paychecks to skip... the list goes on.
All these AAA game studios are basically becoming a name for what not to buy. Buy AAA game to throw away money, buy indie to actually get a game that is cared about.
not sure if this ever crossed their mind, but i think just getting rid of as many bugs as possible, and introducing modding to the game in order for the community to in a sense finish the game themselves with mods, would be a great idea
The anoying thing is they cannot even that is damn near impossible, take a look at the semi documentary from Shadowzone on the KSP2 drama and you wil understand, to sum up intercept games tried to use the old KSP1 code and just make it look better but the code itself was riddled with technical debt this is the reason why they could not make the game work propperly and why it took forever to get uodates out or fix big issues.
Fixing bugs never crossed their minds, they spent the last year of an incredibly buggy game twiddling their thumbs.
@@darkracer1252 thats okay a short attention span has its benefits.
This is not how i understood the timeline off events but what i think we can both agree on is that mismanagement is what really killed KSP 2

So glad I didn't prepay AA price for a C tier g̶a̶m̶e̶ sandbox.
TBH I am not sure that the existing studio as it was had the capacity to finish KSP2 to an enjoyable state within the decade. Of course there's a multitude of internal and external reasons that was the case.
As someone who did not buy ksp 2, I hope everyone who did learned their lesson not to pay full price for a broken and incomplete game on the hope it will get better in the future, otherwise crap like this will continue happening
It was only like $100 of my sweet sweet money 😭😭😭
Kerbal is going thru the Homeworld history: IP forgotten about and bouncing around for a decade until some studio gets the timing right in terms of in-house space engine and a viable license to use KSP again.
KSP2 is a *perfect* example on why potential means nothing!
In the latest update, the Private Division launcher has been removed.
if they are going to shitcan the project, then give me my money back.
If they are going to do that then as a community we should band together and sue them for our money back!
you paid for beta access. That's on you.
@@bipolarminddroppingsthat's true, it's also on us to hold them accountable. While they may not be legally required to complete a game bought as Early Access, it would be free market suicide to simply screw over those who did buy it as Early Access. It would cement the names of those involved on many shit-lists.
@@bipolarminddroppings Not Exactly... I get where your coming from with Beta Access, but it is technically defamation as they promised a full game on launch. What they've done was some-what illegal, admit it, if you paid for it like me and other people, you'd say the same thing.
Why'd you even give them your money? This is what you deserve for investing your money in an unfinished project run by a shitty company...
What if we the KSP community chip in and buy KSP? And where we all own it, possibly open source it?
Modern Crowdfounding? But then we would have a "thieve" situation with a million ideas but not much actuall developement.
I second this
@@molybdaen11 But our community tech tree and modding stuff shows we would have a bit of experience in working together as a community and most of the modders would be pretty experienced already on coding and stuff for how long KSP 1's been out(idk much about making code). @@yaboikindabored9831 Well, good luck with that. But i doubt the licence would be available soon.
if you buy a game before its done, there's no incentive for the money behind it to finish the game. ever since dayz, I've refused most early access titles. aside from truly passionate creators like anton and barron from H3VR, and Blade and sorcery.
I don't think the problem is with early access games, the issue's with games that are managed by managers, not people passionate for it. I've bought a few early access games and they've been completely fine. I'm definitely not buying an AAA game for exactly this reason though
DayZ is actually good though... don't lump it in with other things
@@jm56585 The lack of a management company is one big reason why Space Engineers was successful as an EA title, and it still being updated regularly after its full release. It was published by the development studio themselves, KeenSWH.
Also I think KeenSWH could be good for KSP 2 if they were to buy the KSP IP.
I've got games in early access before but I'd never trust Take 2 with an early access or pre order. In fact I doubt I'd buy anything from Take 2 again. I think they're the scummiest game publisher around. EA look like angels compared with Take 2
And how long did it take? Too long is the answer@@ChristoffRevan
Are we really surprised? Early Access game starting at $80AUD? The writing was on the wall, we just had our rose tinted glasses on :(
It’s a shame, because the first game had amazing communication from the devs, and KSP 2 was always sold on the idea that the planned updates WOULD happen, but now it’s all falling apart
Did I happen to spot a project Orion clip in there? And if so could that have possibly foreshadowed NPP in a tech tree if the game was continued?
Glad I never bought KSP2 and kept playing the first with mods. I didn't have faith whenever people were saying the game was finally in a state where it justified the nearly $80 pricetag. All major studios over the past 15 years have been going this way and I had a feeling KSP2 would eventually end up like the rest.
yes. u seen ksp mods? they are brilliant and the modding community is more than capable of finishing KSP2 better than anyone at private division. POWER TO THE MODDERS!
This is what happens when gamers buy established title sequel, beta software from established studios for full AAA prices. They got all the money they needed for only 10% of the game.
NEVER, EVER buy betas from established studios for full AAA price. Never preorder for the same reasons. Learn your damn lessons this time and save everyone else the trouble of a terrible game. Early access should only ever be bought for new indie developer studios and for early access prices...
big studios shouldnt have access to early access. they have the time and resources to make a full game
KSP2 just feels like an "I told you so" at this point. When they released KSP2 as a broken demo for $50 and it took a year for it to become a playable demo....I knew it was doomed. I had held off on buying ksp2 because that. I refuse to pay more money for less game. Couple buddies bought KSP2 when it went on sale with the For Science update, and I told them they should refund the game and buy ksp1 because ksp2 was a dead game. They ended up buying ksp1 after watching me play ksp1 comapred to what ksp2 offered.
And now just a couple months later and I had to give them both the news, "I told you ksp2 was a dead game"
0:30 slight correction, it would have taken them around 3 months if they weren't focused on bugs
They should release it open source.
Other than being disappointed in the game I am disappointed in myself too. I could see the bad signs left and right but I didn't care, I just blindly hoped it would turn out alright. I believed them even tho I really shouldn't have. I'm never making this mistake ever again.
One more reason why EARLY ACCESS needs to be stopped. Steam and other game online stores, need to make Early access games refund policies start when the game RELEASES, that way if a game doesn't release or is not actively being developed in a timely manner the customers can refund the games. This would stop the Early release scam engine that has taken hold in the gaming industry, and force game developers to either put out or face seeing all the money they made in early access refunded to the customer. I beg everyone stop buying early access games, they are scams everyone, any legitimate gaming developer will complete the game and release it for sale.
Yeah that's the last time I'm spending money on an early access release unless there's just like one guy doing it. And he ain't charging me the completed game price for it.
I paid for this on day 1. Played for an hour before I told myself that I'd come back to it once the game was finished and fixed. Looks like I just flushed that money down the drain -_-
There's too many EA games that are already great early into their dev cycles, but wouldn't have any hope of seeing completion without the financial benefits of EA, for the entire thing to be scrapped. I would agree with the idea that Steam should apply more scrutiny to what projects/publishers get to use it, as larger studios have too much overhead costs for EA to be a viable source of funding anyways. Studios with 70+ employees need actual funding/investment to function, not essentially gambling winnings based on if people actually by the game early.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE COULD'VE HAD PARADOX GAMES, CREATOR OF 3 OF MY TOP 5 GAMES WORKING ON MY TOP 1 GAME?
*Psss* Hey Valve... Buy the Kerbal IP.
So PD did not have the funds to complete the game, which is a requirement for Valve's early access program as per Valve rules. Does this not mean we all get refunds? People on Steam forum just say "no" without giving any counter-arguments. They also claim this has been argued to death on PD forums, Reddit, etc. So if that is the case, what is the counter-argument to the claim I made? Is there any intelligent conversation to be had out there over this? So far I say no, as no one has countered my argument.
Anyone hope Elon or Jeff buys KSP2, I wouldn't mind product placement if we still got a KSP2 game at this point :p
That is totally sad for me...
I'm a big fan of KSP1 (but still a noob, haven't went further that Minmus), and waited for KSP2 since the first trailer. I wanted to play it, make colonies, travel between stars...
And i was waiting, checking all of the updates, information, etc. When the game came out, I've only got access to some bad pirate version because of war and sanctions. And still, I've wanted to play full game. And now seems like i even can't do it anymore. No more full game.
There are plenty ksp 1 mods that give you all that experience, even graphics, but it is requires good pc
I think the frustration you had about slow development is because they weren't designing the game linearly, they were working bitwise on everything. If they put everything into the adjacent roadmap, sure, it'd get done faster, but then the game would quickly lose its future proofing. It wasn't being developed as a live service game, it was a true early access. It's fair you weren't enjoying that but the only mistake they made was assuming they had the longevity to see it through.
I'm so happy that I read this right. Loved KSP sooooo much. But the simple fact that KSP 2 released as early access, was the red flag that made me dodge this bullet.
If you lack funding after a success like KSP something is terribly wrong.
Why is the space game genre so cursed like this?
This is one of the resons I don't buy games in early access or on "premiere" for more than a decade. I saved a lot of money on many games.
Elon Musk was a fan of KSP - we should ask him to buy the KSP2 IP and revive it
Funny how many people were so toxically trying to shut up people who pointed out ksp2s many problems. Desperate to not hear obvious problems.
Frontier Developements would be great to see with the KSP IP, since they already got a nice looking space game with Elite: Dangerous and a great CGI-Cartoonish style with Planet Coaster.
Cant we all pool our money and buy the IP? Develop the KPS 2 that we all want ^^
What hurts the most IMO is what could have been. KSP 2 could have been huge, I mean really, multiplayer, interstellar, futuristic engines and technologies. It could have been the best KSP2 it could have been. I was mostly looking forward to colonies, and now it seems that will never be. We could have had a true successor to KSP, but I doubt we ever will
This is why I never bought the game. Most people were waiting to see if the game would at least reach KSP 1 levels before buying it.
We need to start a save KSP movement who's with me?
IMO, the fact that KSP 2 is still being sold on Steam and Private Division and Epic indicates that someone "must" be working on providing a finished product. If the company is folding and not continuing to develop KSP 2, they should therefor cease trying to capitalize on it through sales with the false promise of a finished product.
Horrible communications from the team involved in all of this, I think it is worthy of a class action lawsuit.
They could make the project open source, but where would the profit be in that??? Take Two needs their money 💰 poor Take Two they need more money 🥺🥺 What a joke. Their greed really breaks boundaries and ruins good things, an entirely deplorable company.
There should be laws against companies selling early access games and never finishing them
This is sooo frustrating. I somehow knew something was going wrong a year ago and that's why I didn't buy it back then. I loved KSP 1 so much and I was very excited about the introduction of KSP 2. However, there were signs that told us something was way off at the very beginnening. Like it took way too much time for them to complete atleast somewhat playable game. And after release, there were too few updates for my liking in a long period of time. I almost lost hope for this game. But now? After watching this video? Ahhhh! It's a complete frustration. I've waited for so long and now when I know it's probably gonna be a garbage, I don't want to spend money on it anymore.
The warning flag that I've kept getting was that the number one incredibly most irritating bug of wobbly rockets that made it impossible for me to enjoy the game, well Nate Simpson kept saying "wobbly rockets are funny and cute, and always failing is hilarious.". As if the only part of the game that could possibly matter was my chuckle of amusement as every single rocket I built wobbled and flailed until it couldn't get out of the atmosphere.
It was the fact that they were trying to normalize that and make it acceptable to me and make me think this will be my soul ambition for this game for the rest of the time I play it is to barely make it out of the goddamn atmosphere.
When someone starts trying to get you used to a shity situation you have to start understanding that they are the reason for the shity situation.
I was hoping for KSP2 to resolve the major issues holding KSP1 back, especially the absurd RAM usage and loading times when using mods. This is why I am still kinda hopeful for the best possible outcome to this entire situation.
Really, what people should have done instead of mass downvoting in protest to Take 2's decision to close Intercept Games, is encourage mass purchases from even those who aren't interested in the game or spaceflight. Make the execs and investors realize what they are throwing away with the decision that was made, potentially reverse course and offer to hire back all of those that were laid off and then some.
Having just picked up KSP1 and not being able to run KSP2, i like these news lol
lol I am really envious of you getting to play KSP1 for the first time. There are SO many great mods too, let me know what you think of it!
I refused to buy this game until it was a polished product, and retrospectively, I'm glad I didn't waste my money. I implore of anyone in this modern world so obsessed with money not to be a fool and give it to people thata haven't earned it
When this first came out, I decided to risk it. I tried it, realized just how bad it was, and refunded it. I had planned to pick it up later down the line if it improved but it seemed grim from the start - all KSP 2 had to be was KSP1 with the performance and graphics improved as a rock solid baseline to improve upon. Even parts being missing would have been fine if it ran well. But it was so clear it wasn't there I simply didn't trust it. Very glad now that I did not, while it's *possible* someone will buy KSP and work on something with it (ideally a fully new game, I don't think re-using 2's code is a good idea), I don't think it's going to be any time at all soon.
It sad that it poor mangement and fantasy thinking they would be rich. But it got hold back in code that is broken instead of rebuilding.
It’s amazing that they didn’t even consult the original creators to help them figure things out. Just sadly seems poorly managed from the very start.

I buy this game on Day 1 and thought "omg this is at least 3 years away from finishing" and gave it back. Now it seems it`s go for 3000000000 years :D
I’ve always been super compassionate about the Kerbal Space program of 1 and 2. And if you were around when KSP 1 came out. It was exactly the same as KSP.2 just with slower efforts and more time. The game was not more refined to what it was today till 2018-2019. The fact seeing KSP 2 will never see its full potential seriously disheartens and breaks me personally. As I would’ve enjoyed all the promised aspects it would have provided to us in due time. What sucks even more is private divison promised that the colonies update would be out by no later then June. But with every passing hour and passing day. The dread and faith slowly grows.
I had my doubts from the very beginning, but I dared to hope. I grew Very concerned when I heard development had been switched to a different studio/team, but still I continued to hold onto a thin thread of hope.
Those hopes died the moment I saw the first early access and knew we were never going to get more than the buggy threadbare pre-alpha build with the absolute minimum of features that we saw that day. I realized that this "game" was never going to be anything more than a brand recognition cash grab, that it was relying on the hype train and nostalgia to sell copies.
This is truely a dark year for space fans.
First Jumpdrive Odysee and now KSP2 almost death.
They can't just let us with 40 or 50 dollars, this is shameful how many money taketwo would have for what they produced
Just a quick remidner to everyone that take 2 owns rockstar, if you're expecting a good GTA-6 I wouldn't hold your breath.
It's my understanding that KSP2 was badly made from the start, with a lot of the core problems in KSP2 being the problems from KSP1 that they were meant to fix. This game was never going to get off the ground because the project was flawed from the start.
I wish the community could buy ksp ip and then have an open source version 😊
"this just sucks" 100%
Hearing about how the original KSP dev team got cutter by this new company I knew it would turn out like this. So heartbreaking. The original KSP dev team communicated with the community and even hired modders which is unheard of. Now it's turned to this? Should be illegal lol
didn't matt lowne show the interview with the dev showing that they canceled ksp2?
What a major disapointment, that most of us seen coming a mile away.
We should tell Elon Musk to buy the rights to the game LOL
Noting was anounced, there still is hope.
Yes, tomorrow they will announce the next big update together with a road map.
We just have to wait ...
We should try and get studios like squad to take back or take the ip
I’d rather a large studio gets ahold of the IP and makes the game that was promised. Maybe even go beyond that and flesh the game out in ways the community asked for.
The team in charge of the game was ill equipped to handle it, and instead heavily focused on marketing and lies to keep the gravy train rolling. The publisher killing the project was long overdue and hopefully the IP can be sold to someone competent.
The only issue would be any game made now would take minimum 5 years to make since they would need to start from scratch with the code. If you didn’t know they had ported over code from ksp1 and attempted to build off of it for ksp2 to cut corners but instead made the process even harder and longer. I don’t want another Nate Simpson, I want someone competent as the director and I want them to use more than entry level coders to work on the game.
What kind of studio would be willing to take a 20-50 million loss to rebuild KSP 2 from the ground up ?
@@machintrucGaming games are expensive to make. 20-50 million is actually a low ball for any large project. But the payoff is what you’d see with ksp1, a large fan base throwing money at it, publicity with nasa and schools and potentially more. It’s not a AAA game and is still niche, but it makes money and the IP can be worth a lot long term.
I would say that another potential buyer would be one of space companies, from spaceX, to rocketlab. Mostly because I can guarantee you that at least half of their engineers under 40 were inspired by KSP 1 to pursue Rocketry in first place. This game had and have great educational potential. Commercial space market is recently growing exponentially, but there is not as many engineers that could fill the void. You see lot of engineers that worked for spaceX, blue origin, and now having own space related companies.
And KSP had inspired many of them to become "rocket scientist ".
Rn even major space related events don't reach as much people as they should. Even videos of 13 years old ksp1 have often more views than real launches. And viewers of those often overlaps.
More KSP players become rocket fans, than other way around.
@@thedarkcorrupter But KSP1 steam charts took a toll after KSP2 release and never recovered.
I don't care who gets ahold of this IP I'm not spending a dime on it. I have absolutely no faith in this game or any of the scumbags who have started to swarm around it trying to figure out how to feast on it.
There s so much potential in the 1.0 release of the game. I really really really hope another stuido picks it up and finishes the game. It s actually my most anticipated game ever
There has been official updates, but nobody has cared to look. The devs, who have not been fired by the way, said they’re still developing KSP2. An update came out two days ago.
Steam should allow players to have full refunds for games in early access. At this point I almost feel scammed by KSP2. I would have never bought it, knowing the final state of it, and I will probably never play it again and spend my time in KSP1 instead.
Looking forward to the pay-to-win Chinese mobile game version of Kerbal Space Program!!
KSP2 is the last time I buy anything associated with Take 2. They're now UBIsoft to me.
Let's go ask Chris Roberts to buy the game... He is an expert when it comes to managing over ambicious games.

Taht text at th ebottom is somethign they must be held to, legally.
"Will be added" is a promise they use to sell the game on, and it woudl be illegal for them not to add those things as the yhave promised to the customers. False advertising, otherwise.
If the game is completely terminated and cancelled why is it still for sale
Torture me all you want, but I’m not gonna hate on KSP2 because of it’s performance.
The devs are trying to do their best.
Time for a community replacement to KSP2 - it is not salvagable, we need something built from the ground up.
Maybe Elon can save KSP2?.. 🚀
Elon saved paypal by being ousted
0:30 ayo his friend must be obsessed with anime.
So, I went some months backpacking and coming home and KSP2 is cancelled
I know that there's no control over it but it just feels like a kick in the pants or should I say wallet for the people who bought the game.
I'm so happy that I didn't buy KSP2, even though there have been times when I really wanted to.
So nice that Take 2 flashes a juicy 2 billion dollar budget for gta 6 but cried about layoffs the next year...smh.. trash company....
Cities skylines 2, and now KSP 2 it's over boys
I knew it 😂.... They could of made millions!!!! People would of ate it up..... unbelievable 💩
Hasn't Private Division been removed from the credits?
Yes
they killed it.. like Disney killed Star Wars.
Yes, that's sad they kill ksp2 but who know they have something surprise to keep alive
