You should not use a screwdriver to push the keys out. Instead use a flat object like a dull knife to push(with little force) on a plastic spring between the keys. That will allow you to easily remove the key. Added later There's a little arrow on each key that points to the location of the spring underneath that needs to be pressed in order to release the key
Thank you so much^^ One digital grand piano keyboard was a problem, but after watching the video, I fixed it with a screwdriver and glue^^ I'm so happy this morning^^ Be happy ^^♡
Me also. I always open my board to check out the problem util i know how to Fix Common problems. . This board is not mine. She just paid me to fix her gear..
Note: When you have glued the piece back on you’ll see it’s not flush. So what I did have to do, about 5 or so minutes after the glue was set, use a fine tooth file. Or an emery nail board and File down the outer side till it was flush and inside to get rid of glue that had left a lump. Just be careful not to press too hard with the file.
My problem with my 1988 Clavinova is the slight nonuniform action of the keys. This occurred over the years. I demand perfection. Now I can look underneath and probably make some spring constant measurements.
I've got a clavinova with a stuck key AND just found an old Yamaha CP33 at Goodwill for $150 (presumably because they didn't have a power cord and didn't know if it would work.... and it DID... aside from3 sticking/warped keys).... hoping to take my learnings from your help with the Clavinova to the CP. Fingers crossed... Thank you for the video!!
Not an expert. I was fixing my keyboard before. then my friend saw me and he wants me to fix his board cuz its very expensive if you bring it to the service center.
Your video was super helpful to fix a sticky key! That one is working now but I've got another key that seems like it just wants to pop out. I tried swapping it with a new key but it behaves the same. I can't see anything broken or different. I can easily pull it out with my finger without having to use a knife or screw driver to pop it out. Any idea what the problem is?
I have a Yamaha DGX 650 and since a few days one white key is leaning too much into the black key left from it, making a small (but frustrating) noise. I might perform surgery on my piano as well now! Hope I don't *screw* it up
That Dgx 650 looks like a newer model. I think the board is the same with my Yamaha p125 actions. I already made a tutorial on yamaha p125 repair. Check it out
Hello, is there a way to fix the allignment of the keys? Some of the white keys on my key board stick out more than others and i thought replacing them would fix the issue but it didnt.
Ok so my bf has a piano at home n he recently dropped the plant on it by accident n dirt n gravel got in the keys n since then some of the keys sound a bit fought but only one of them stopped working properly to the point i have to press it rlly hard for it to make a sound n idk how to fix it😢 (We tried opening it but it there's only screws at the bottom so it's the only area where it can be opened yet we cldnt take out the board for the keys)
Hello I just tried it and now I cant put back the replacement keys ive been doing it for 2 hours now but I cant put it back in im so stressed please help me ):
Good day,, can you help me in putting back the keys on my yamaha clavinova CLP-153SG.... Somehow i mixed up the keys, i had it in order when i remove it. Kids cameby and mixed up the keys.. please bro.
I have a different problem, it happened like 4 or 5 times now that the key is sticking and doesn't come up, i switched the keys with the keys i almost never use and the strange thing is when i switched the keys, they bothe work again, and the keys are not broken or crooked, i can't find any reason for sticking, and the keys are clean, do you know the problem ?

Hi sir I have roland hp series, and one key remained stuck down and other one is hard to press. What do you think is the problem, or can I repair that by myself? :)
You can repair by your self Open the board And check the problem... Somtimes plastic or something is broken inside.. Just be careful of the wires not tobe damage.... If plastic is broken. You can fix it with super glue... Or buy a replacement Key on the service center.. Or repair the problem the mechanical action that causing the problem. If there's no replacement keys. You can move it to the higher register where you rarely use
The one that is stucked is looking normal, but when you press it down, it feels like its locking on first press but eventually I can still push it down and it still goes back up.
You don’t only play these instruments - you also know how to repair them. Impressive.

why some key has loud sound, some doesn't
Clean the contact rubber under keys
Thankyou
Appreciated your time checking my tutorial. I hope it helps
All Yamaha weighted keys have this problem. It's clearly because of a defective design
You actually want to replace the whole key instead of gluing, soon it will break again
yes if you have parts
