I saw it in theaters with a gorgeous redhead i totally blew my chance with, but in the end it was ok, because I got to see Stardust in theaters. As far as I'm concerned, this is "The Princess Bride" of the 2000s.. underrated in it's day, but absolutely perfect.
3:27 to be fair, Ben Barnes looks like a teenager at 26 years old and has barely aged since. He was six years older than William Moseley (Peter Pevensie) but they appear the same age. He was 39 in Shadow and Bone but still looked the same despite the beard and short hair. 😅😅😅
"What is this cast?" Right?! Daredevil, Juliet, Superman, Catwoman, DeNiro, Mark Strong (he works with Vaughn again on Kickass), and crooner Harry Connick Jr 🤩 The corpse marionette fight in the finale is fantastic and pretty chilling.
This movie was my introduction to Charlie Cox and the reason I watched Daredevil - which quickly became my favorite MCU title. Charlie is just so adorable! Claire is too, I've had a crush on her for decades, hell everybody in this movie is fantastic.
I am with you, why isn't there more buzz about Stardust. I have loved the movie since seeing it in 2007 and still enjoy watching it. Love your reaction and your editing. Hope you get to 70K.
The way I've been obsessed with this movie since 2007! Like this is where I know Charlie Cox from. I quite literally never shut up about it and I'm so glad you've discovered it! The line, "what do stars do? They Shine" is eternally etched into my brain.
I always did love the clever names for the princes and princess. She's Una meaning one, she is actually the eldest of the family. And Septimus stands for 7, the seventh son to which there are several legends of the seventh son of a seventh son. Hence the tattoo of a seven on his hand telling Tristan who he was. Brother to primus, prime, first son.
Hard to tell if she is actually the eldest or if just the eldest (Only) daughter. Because the eldest son is called Primus also meaning 1. If they had another sister she likely would have been named after the number 2, like Secondus is. The internet is giving mixed signals, some sources say she is the oldest, others say she is the fourth.
@@harrypottersnumbrfan The men in the family seem to be named for ordinal numbers (Primus means first), while the women seem to be named for cardinal numbers (Una means one). Most likely it's what you say, they're named by the order within their sex but no indication of their overall birth order.
What a pleasant surprise to see this reaction pop up. This is one of my favorite movies that I saw for the first time in the last year or so. So glad you enjoyed it too!
The movie is far more endearing and fun than the book, but I like the complexity of the character and the world building better in the book. But full warning, captain Shakespeare is a movie creation.
Since you really loved this movie. I wanted to request another fantasy film called The Fall (2006) it is a super unique movie filmed in 28 countries with no green screen whatsoever. Super complex story with great acting that takes the idea of storytelling in a fantasy movie kinda like princess bride to a new level.
Most excellent film, really it's got it all. Definitely a comfort film. This one, the Princess Bride and oddly, Speed Racer are right up there in my tippy top of excellent heart-warming movies.
Great reaction! Yes, read the book. I think it is one of Gaiman's finest. The movie is a wonderful adaptation. I also don't understand why the movie is so criminally underrated. It has been a favorite of mine for years.
I LOVE this movie, it's one of my favorites. Don't know if you realized but the star is played by the same actress as Juliet in the DiCaprio version of Romeo + Juliet. Love her for starring in two of the most iconic romance movies that left me S I M P I N G . Also if you want more Michelle Pfeiffer movies two good ones are Hairspray(2007) and The Witches of Eastwick(1987) where she is also, funnily enough, a witch- but a good one this time. Also stars Cher, Jack Nicholson and Susan Sarandon so it's a good watch if you haven't seen it!
Lately ive seen a few people react to Stardust. I dont know where its coming from but im not complaining! Its one of those movies i can never really get tired of.
Wanted to watch this for ages only because of Charlie Cox since Daredevil is one of my favourite marvel characters🤩 Also I just love anything that Charlie's in👀
Great reaction! You’re right, this is a lovely movie that not a ton of people know about and is a wonderful comfort movie. My husband and I have had this in our comfort movie lineup for years and years. It came out in 2007 which was a good year for a bunch of great movies to come out but it’s not like the field was so very over saturated. That means it came down to a bad PR team. I was around 25 and I don’t remember ever seeing a promotion for this movie and I’m a huge movie goer. They basically did no PR with the movie itself or the cast. It really is a shame because this movie is so endearing and well done with a great cast.
I went and saw this in theatres randomly when it came out and it became one of my favorite movies. The book was fantastic too! BTW you're reaction was spectacular! How are you so adorable? XD Glad you enjoyed the movie!
Loved the book when I read it. I love anything I've read from Neil Gaiman. Loved the movie too when it came out. I think the movie even improved on a few things and had an outstanding cast. Definitely one for the movie collection. Pop it on when I'm in the mood for something fun and feel-good...or just to swoon over Charlie Cox. It did fine at the box office when it came out but surprised how it just kind of got swept under the rug after that. Glad to see it's getting a revival with new fans recently.
I saw this soon after it came out on dvd rental. I haven't warched since but yes, I enjoyed it and am surprised it got swept under the rug as much as it did. It's just as good as any other well done movie within this genre.
For a movie with a cast as stacked as this, effects and a plot as good as it is, makers me love and hate the promotion team. It should’ve got so much more attention than it does but I I love that it’s kinda a hidden gem m

Watching you get into this movie because of Charlie Cox but end up simping over Mark Strong instead is awesome, but I completely agree. I once saw an image of him from a movie where he wore a turban and some black eye shadow and I fell in love with him again. He's one of the bald actors I find handsome right along with Dougal from Outlander and Vinnie Jones
I forget how awesome this movie is, watched it with my mum and nephews when it was new, great fun for the whole family, cast way more stacked than I realized at the time also, highly recommend "Inkheart" '08 Brendan Frazer, wholesome family friendly fantasy, similarly under rated and over looked

I much prefer this ending to the book ending. While it makes sense that Yvaine would just outlive Tristan (Tristran) it’s more bittersweet.
That's how it ended in the book? I would've been sad forever if I read that.
I love the fairy tail logic that he, of course, had the heart of a star because she loved him so deeply.
Stardust is a favorite movie of mine. I loved the implication that Humphrey and Captain Shakespeare end up together, further upsetting Victoria.
