The best documentary that introduces you to BTS and the members from their humble beginnings is titled "A Guide to BTS - The Bangton 7" by Taylor Mari. The documentary is current as of May 2022 which is fine because that's when BTS stopped releasing group projects while fulfilling their mandatory military service. They will all be back together this June.
The Guide is about 48 minutes long but ARMY's will show up in droves to watch it. It's a favorite of the fandom (ARMY).
Because you like metal/rock, you might enjoy "Mic Drop (Steve Aoki remix) and "On (Kinetic Manifesto Film").
This is my first time on your channel and I enjoyed your reaction. I hope you continue to explore BTS as a whole and the solo work of the 7 individual members - RM, Suga, J-Hope (the rappers) and Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook (the vocalists). I'll definitely be back for more BTS reactions.💜

BTS tends to portray ideas and thoughts very well in their songs or videos. The complexity of most of his compositions beautifully expresses his creative and artistic choices. To do this, they use various devices and symbols, linking literary, psychological and social references.
Repeating words is a deliberate literary device that puts emphasis on something and is called Epizeuxis. In this case, "bump, bump, bump" is the sound of the heartbeat and conveys the heightened sensation of anxiety; and, "jump, jump, jump" deepens the feeling of depression and dark thoughts, adding layers of complexity to the lyrics. In the case of "nah, nah, nah" and "yeah, yeah, yeah" the repetition makes the song accessible to BTS's multinational and multilingual audience where fans from diverse backgrounds can easily sing along, creating a sense of unity and connection.
This MV was filmed at the Los Angeles Theater.
“Black Swan” is inspired by the psychological theories of Carl Jung and explores the concept of “Shadow” which addresses the darkest things that exist in all of us and that we hide or repress, for example, our fears and doubts or our prejudices.
It is based on the following quote from dancer and choreographer Martha Graham, “a dancer dies twice - once when she stops dancing, and this first death is the most painful”. That's why it's relatable to Tchaikovsky's famous ballet, "Swan Lake", where there is a White Swan (good) and a Black Swan (evil). It is demonstrated throughout the video by the choreography and the colors of her black, white and gray clothes.
This song has an essentially deep and personal meaning for BTS, as it refers to the fear of losing their passion for music.
The video portrays the struggle within oneself between light and darkness, with beautiful visuals, powerful choreography and emotional vocals, adding depth to the narrative and representing the artists' internal conflicts and emotions. But the lyrics end with the hope that they will fight this feeling by looking deeper into themselves, understanding their feelings, knowing themselves better, and using those feelings as inspiration to make more music.

I myself am a 47 years old metal fan from Finland who doesnt so much care for kpop in general, but lovelove Bts 💜 all tho, nice songs here and there from other groups also, just nothing to grab me totally like these guys 💜

I stumbled across your reaction channel thanks to BTS. I first have to comment: wtf is your voice?! I can't believe that's coming from you! Seriously caught me off guard and I love it! Also, in regard to the video, Jimin is actually the only member trained in contemporary dance. J-hope was the only other professionally trained dancer before joining BTS and his style is more street dancing. I'd recommend Louder than Bombs if you like the sound of Black Swan, but if it's the dance style that you like I would just say Spring Day performance or possibly Butterfly. They're all amazing so you really can't go wrong. Personal favorites for dancing are: Run BTS, ON Kinetic Manifesto, Dionysus MMA 2019, and Not Today. Have fun with your exploration!

This song is about the fear of losing passion for music - something any creative person can relate to! RM says he cried a lot writing these lyrics. Others will say it - but BTS is not like other K-pop. And the contemporary dancer is Jimin! The group's dance leader, J-Hope, was a street dancer. The way they combine styles in their work is really cool.

Jimin is the only member who has a contemporary modern and ballet dance background. He is the one dancing solo in the video. He also trained in hip hop, popping, locking and even with 8 years of training in several martial arts including kendo, hapkido, Chinese martial arts and taekwondo (black belt with Jungkook). He incorporate all these in his dance style. Jimin is also one of the main dancer (with Jhope)

Happy that you're reacting to BTS again :) Here are some recommendations for their songs that are less in the pop-genre, which you might like. 'Boy in Luv', 'Run BTS' and 'Danger' are more in the rock-genre so I think you would enjoy that. 'Not Today', 'Mic Drop' and 'Set me free pt. 2' by Jimin (one of the BTS members) are more hip hop like and some of my favourite songs. So maybe would want to check them out

Your video was in my recommended this morning. I grew up as a rock and metalhead and discovered BTS in Sept 2020. I am still in the rabbit hole and loving every moment with these gentleman. Your voice is stunning by the way!
BTS are not like most other KPop groups and I think if you watch the documentary The Most Beautiful Moment in Life by Rice Squad it explains a little about the KPop scene, how it began, and why BTS are slightly removed from the scene. They were "reclaimed" by the KPop industry after years of hate when BTS broke out internationally. The Guide to Bangtan (for skeptics, haters....) by Boracity is a really nice short guide to BTS themselves. BTS cover many genres so whichever song you go for next it will most probably not be similar to Black Swan. For dancing I would recommend ON: Kinetic Manifesto official MV, for completely different I recommend Louder Than Bombs no MV so I would watch the video by Elissa. She puts really accurate English subs on hers and using their own footage to match the mood of the song.

You missed the end the Shadow falling. This is from their map of Soul album's exploring Jungian Psychology and connecting to their own lives. Black Swan is about their Fear their Real Fear that's they'll lose their passion for their art eg Song writting, Composing, Producing, Rapping, Singing, Dancing. The 'Shadow'. They also look and amply the Ego and the Persona to their own lives with the map of the soul albums.
Black Swan is also based on a quote from the famous dancer Martha Graham 'A dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing and this is the most painful death'.

Only Jimin was trained in contemporary dance. In fact he's a top student from Busan School of Art. Jhope was a street dancer before joining BTS, and he'd the dance leader. Jungkook had a short time training in hiphop dance and culture in the US when he first joined in the age of 13. As for the rest, they were trained as BigHit trainee for about 2-3 year before debuting.
But yes, they all dance very well. Their choreography and synchronization are insane.
They started out as a hip hop group In 2013. But by 2015 they broadened their sound to include rap, jazz, blues, pop rock, EDM, rock, ballads, Latin pop, and a few other genres! By the way, K-pop is not a genre. It's a music industry of South Korea. And BTS doesn't fit into any genre box or even into k-pop molds in any sense, except maybe the language. They are wayyyy over those. That's why you'll find that most ARMY (their loyal fanbase) doesn't listen to other k-pop groups other than BTS because they satisfy any musical needs and moods out there. Their 10yrs group discography is super intensive, not to mention the members' solo works. Each member has their own distinct style and taste of music. And when they work together as a group? The synergy exploded.

Jimin was a contemporary dancer when he was younger. He was a top student at the Busan Art school. J-Hope joined a street crew when he was 10 years old an won an award at a notional competition. He's the dance leader. So both have a background in dancing. The other ones learned dancing while being a trainee and by practicing hard over the yeaes (in the beginning they practiced dancing 12-16 hours a day)...

Actually this is the Los Angeles Theater in California USA. As far as the dancing, Jimin is doing most of the ballet/modern dancing, he was trained in a school for the performing arts in high school. The others J-Hope is a street dancer and was trained at a school for street dancing and he won a fair bit of awards before he decided to go into kpop. Jungkook was taught by the choreographer for the group and J-Hope taught everyone else along with the choreographer. Most of the dancing in kpop originates with trainers for the companies these kids win auditions. I say win auditions because most agencies have trainers for everything, once they have found the look they are looking for they train these kids to dance, sing and rap.
BTS however didn't train in that manner they trained to learn music theory so that they could write their own lyrics, compose their own music and produce their own sound. When they auditioned they were auditioned as singers, dancers and rappers, except for Jin, Jin was just beautiful. At the beginning their choreographer worked with them on dancing and positioning now mostly J-Hope and Jimin do this, RM does most of the lyrics, Suga does their producing and they all work on music and lyrics together. They can all pretty much sing and they all dance and with a bit of help they also rap. I can't wait for June 2025.

We are talking dancers and even though V became part of the dance team he is not professional so he is one of those that learned from J-Hope and Son as they learned the songs dances, He also with the rest of the group has learned to write his on songs and even though he killed his mixtape himself, his album is worth the listen. As it pertains to THIS song he didn't do the dance solo but he was pretty. There you happy.

I suggest you watch one of Boracity's introduction videos, either "BTS are rockstars" or "BTS for sceptics". BTS really are not what you - or most people - think they are. They might have started out as a K-pop band 12(!) years ago (although the reality is a lot more complicated than that), but nowadays seeing them as a collective of artists would do them more justice. Enjoy discovering more about them!

Love the mv and your reaction. I believe you stopped the mv before it was finished. Always wait till credits roll BTS is famous for having stuff at the end. Also, be sure to read the lyrics you will find out more about them and the music they create. They can be very deep, of course they have fun lighthearted songs, but a lot of their work is taken from books they have read, or their own personal feelings, dark at times.
Also, when you watch video's if they mention an age you usually have to take off 1-2 years. S Korean has their age and then there is their international age. For instance the youngest joined at age 13 he will say 15 that is his Korean age. 13 is his international age, and he debuted at 15. Once you know the year they were born it helps. The oldest will often say he is 33 or maybe 34 now that can not be true as far as international age. He was born in 1992 ( same years as my daughter before him and she is 32). I think it is important when you realize how young they were and still are and ALL they have achieved.
I highly recommend for your first Taylor Mari's Guide to BTS members the Bangtan 7: ruclips.net/video/huV_yIdxZPY/видео.htmlsi=5ltlGV0BYLtLJUOq
It is 45 min it goes by quickly, very professionally done and Army will watch. It is very informative of each members back ground, their start and more. Of course their are others, but it has over 80,000 views for a reason and Taylor Mari is Army. Of course their are others I really like the set up of Mari's and what it covers.
Like you would think all of them were trained dancers and that would be a no., a BIG no. Only two of them were trained and won awards before being a trainee with Big Hit, only one contemporary. Their ages ranged roughly from 13-20 when they joined, Jin that was attending college, had no dance training and still does not really favor dance if he has a choice as seen by his album, we he said no to dancing.
BTS has 3 rappers, and 4 vocalist. There is so much more to them that meets the eye. If you continue on and I hope you do, enjoy the ride, enjoy going down the rabbit hole. I am a 61 year of Army, never big in to music ( like going to concerts, never big into buying albums, did more when cd;s came out) and actually have a playlist over 8 hours, 95% BTS,, and never really like rap till BTS. You will enjoy this.

Hello! For an intro to Kpop that looks at the whole industry. DKDKTV does a 20 Intro. They are good. And look at everyone not just BTS.

Okay the stats for this video You had 1091 views. Would that many views only 218 likes I'm guessing some people didn't like it but Nobody ever leave the dislike when they don't like something they only leave lights that they like it well I let the dislikes And only 34 comments With 1090 views only 34 comments?! Well hooray hooray you actually The video at the beginning of the big hit entertainment intro Throw this in as of 2021Big hit entertainment Became HYBE corporation Multinational entertainment conglomerate Divisions in all areas of entertainment. HYBE labels Owns about 10 music labels in South Korea Japan japan and the United States All of this from a bankrupt music label big hit entertainment the debut1 group BTS in 2013. Buy around 2018 because of BTS they had acquired Controlling interest In several And several music labels And outright purchase other music labels Roughly 2021 they acquired 2 21 they acquired 2 music labels in the United States With artist such as Justin Bieber Ariana grande Chainsmokers Black eyed peas Demi Lovato Country group lady A. Formally known as lady antebellum. All together probably about 3 dozen plus Artist in the United States are signed with music labels owned by HYBE labels a division of HYBE corporation formally formally big hit entertainment..218 lik218 218 likes I guess the rest of the 1090 viewers didn't like the fact that you Didn't watch the entire video Just because they quit singing didn't mean the music video was over BTS Not some mediocre western group like Backstreet boys or 1 direction. Buy the way Over 8 years ago BTS released a music Movie Called burn the stage In it's 1st weekend in the United States It out so 1 direction's movie this is us.5 Grammy nominations But of course the Grammys were using BTS to get views And ratings points. Still they're the only K. pop group That's ever been invited to the Grammys1st to be presentersFor an award Next To At the Grammys At the Grammys304 years in a row Nominated2 years in a row But of course they weren't gonna let them win anything Because there The wrong Ethnic group. Finally As I said you stop watching the music video before it was over After they all 7 bend over Enough to see when Enough to see when you paused it the member of BTS was in the video frame If you would have kept watching it You would assault a shadow shrink down and just appear in the floor You would assault a shadow shrink down and just appear in the floor and then John cook the youngest member after watching that turn around and walk towards the camera Then the video ended!

Since you love the dancing, you should check out the live performance of Black Swan for The Permission to Dance Tour. BTS' artistry is amazing.
The fact that they wrote this from the famous dancing quote by Martha Graham, "A dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." And it is based on the ballet Swan Lake. A black swan and a white swan played by the same dancer symbolizing the struggle within between light and dark. I love it. Depth.
