Bts outsold every single artist in the world this year.
I just wanted to add one more thing about the song credits section. They have mentioned quite often in interviews and other settings that not all the work that goes into a song gets credited. Like, Jimin came up with the melody for Blood Sweat and Tears, but his only credit on the wings album was for his song Lie. They work with each other and brainstorm and I know the members have mentioned that Taehyung has given his thoughts on a song that led to changes in melody or lyrics and improved the song overall, and it's stuff like that that goes uncredited. So it might be that the rappers/producers have more credits, but they all really do think of each other as equal songwriting partners. J-Hope's speech from MAMA 2017 Song of the Year Award for Spring Day also mentions the song writing process between the 7 of them.
Sometimes I think it more of percentage of work overall and that went into the finished product from the original parts.
you have more credits for members in the album credits than in KOMCA - Korea Music Copyright Association. All the members are signed IN KOMCA, with Suga being full member (pretty sure he got chosen after winning producer award for Suran's wine)
for example, Joon the only one who have credits for "I need you" in KOMCA out of the group, but in the album also jhope and Suga gets credits and since Suga did talk about doing some work on the composition of "I need you", based on this and about how they talked about how everyone contribute in some way... I think the final product evaluated be percentage form esp when you need to submit to KOMCA for this.
After all when you have few people to give royalties you need to properly distribute it between them.
GramGramGram Yes you are correct, Yoongi won his award for his production on Wine, and was added not long thereafter. 👍🏼💜
BTS has now sold more than 4M copies of their latest album (Map of the Soul: Persona). It's the best selling album of 2019 beating Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Ariana Grande and they're the only group in the top 5 to accomplish these numbers without bundling (giving away albums with other merchandise purchases). When we say they're the biggest, we actually mean the biggest.
"When we say they're the biggest, we actually mean the biggest"
Status: SATISFACTION
Yes! Map of the soul persona is so successful, I am so proud
You'll get lots of these kind of comments so i'll just make a summary:
Korea used to be in "a dark age" where only 3 kpop companies had the power (don't understimate that). BTS were just one of the few groups that suffered from it. Their company was also small and poor, just couple of staff members and the whole group lived in a single small room.
The last few years (2016-2018 period) BTS broke that system.
There was nothing the big 3 could do when they started to become popular in other countries. You can't erase the data (tho they tried).
Nowdays, Bighit is the biggest company in Korea and BTS the biggest group. They're filthy rich and everyone is licking their boots
"You'll get lots of these kind of comment so i'll make a summary"
If everyone already told him, why are u doing the same?
@@veeklyrics5108 to make it easier to the youtuber? If someone just puts everything important in one single comment and many like it, it will go up and the youtuber will see it. At the same time, the viewers will see that the youtuber already knows this and won't comment about the subject. That's what i think
JungKook : EUPHORIA, BEGIN
Jimin : SERENDIPITY, LIE
V : SINGULARITY, STIGMA
Jin : EPIPHANY, AWAKE.
Their solo songs....
We welcome Pausing cause it’s so easy to miss something with these guys. Just remember: You nice, keep going!💜
FYI, XCeleste said BTS' album "Map of the Soul" sold more than 3 millions copies in its first month and not talking till now 2019. By now it should be more sold. This album was released in Apr 2019.
It's at 4.1 million right now!
I love how you are getting to know BTS.
RM works on adopting a posh English accent when they are in London. hehe
I’ve never been this early before 🥺💜
Post watch comment: BTS has lived together since the longest. They shared a ONE (1) bedroom apartment and the older members held regular jobs while the younger ones finished school. Jin used to pack JK’s lunch and drive him to school. They’re a FAMILY. 🥺💜
You should watch RM's UN speech. It is amazing.
ERIC WEINMAN I remember watching it live and crying because I was so proud
“I dunno who this guy is but I love him”
He’s MNek
The way i see it, is, when someone wrote what they sing, you know they know exactly what the song is about. However, there are people with amazing voices, with zero song writing talent. When i hear people say "they don't even write their own stuff", i always get this backlash of a feeling of so these people shouldn't sing? They should never open their mouths just because their talent isn't in writing? And then the people who write amazing songs but Don't have the voice to deliver them. Their careers sort of need those amazing voices. So i try to know before i jump into "the obvious" conclusion.
I love the song camp reference, because it just shows everyone contributes to the songs. While credits obviously go to the person who wrote the part or the song or the lyrics, you just Know everyone put in their two cents. (Is that how you say it? Two cents?)
That said, happy birthday Seokjin! 💜
That's actually a very interesting outlook. For me personally I can't support someone who doesn't have any kind of input in the creative process. I actually look down on the artists who are like puppets. However reading your comment, I guess if they do have a passion for singing and sadly lack talent to write, I realise I shouldn't hate on them. Although I still don't respect them as artists, at the very least I won't disdain them. 💜
Thanks for opening my eyes.
R B I fully agree with you though. I don’t wanna ever listen to “artists” that don’t have ANY creative input. Even if someone can not write songs or lyrics they should at least contribute ideas, topics, help with stuff etc. So I find you pov valid. We shouldn’t hate, that’s right, but you or I can have our own standards to what we call an artist. So BTS is the only “kpop” group I listen to (but also because of their genuine and inspiring, highly relatable lyrics)
They can sing songs written by others, sure, but then there are singers and not artists.
If you are interested hearing more about their song writing process and their message etc, I'd suggest to check out their 2018 GRAMMY Museum interview (the clip during which you mentioned about RM sounding more "professional" is from that interview). It's a really great interview that gives you at lest some insight to why they are doing what they are doing and how that's possible. Also seeing your reaction to it would be cool since you also know about music, so hearing your thoughts on that would be interesting^^
I completely agree with what you said at the end about the close bond they have with each other. I really look up to how much they love and respect one another and how they communicate with each other whenever there’s a disagreement. After going through thick and thin together for so many years, I think they really became like brothers. In their RUclips premium series called Burn the Stage, Yoongi said “things like respect, the closer you are, the more you need it.” Recently they actually said they really don’t even get in fights at all anymore and if they do they just make the members that are fighting leave and hold hands while talking it out XD
RM got a lot of criticism for exactly what you said: "sounding hood". So he has changed the way he speaks English to "Sound more professional" which is bullsh*t because he's speaking just as intelligently as he always has, but people respect a certain accent and intonation more. It's rooted in racism and social stratification in America. (I literally just wrote a paper for uni about this topic and I should have used RM as an example, damn).
Just a candle I’d be interested in reading that paper. It’s an important topic and, also as a related issue, there is a strong bias against people who speak English as a second language, but those who speak “ghetto” are definitely looked down on even if they are highly intelligent and saying meaningful things, just because they may sound “hood” as you say.
I love how they incorporate literature, like Herman Hesse’s demian. This is one of the best books I have ever read, it is highly philosophical. Also Map of the Soul is super intricate because it’s about the psychological concept from one of the most known psychoanalysts Carl Jung, as a psychologist I appreciate 😉.
If you want really good intros to all the boys check out gadaursan's intro videos to all of them! You should also check out kim seokjin a documentary by glittering bangtan for more excellent information on Jin specifically. Excellent reaction my dude keep up the great work!!! 💜💜💜
I love your reactions to bts. Very thoughtful
Last year::: “3 million in a year now a days is a lot......”
This year::: BTS Have 4 million in preorders for a album that’s hasn’t even come out yet .... 👀
BTS:::LEGENDS
"bts is overrated? Then what's this" by jamjamj is one of my fav video cz there r lots of rare info about d members
I honestly like when you talk, you’re giving your opinion 🤷🏻♀️
This is my first time watching that video too and let me tell you I cried. I cry all the time at videos like this no matter how many times I've seen them, I already know everything in that video but seeing it all in one place just makes me so proud and happy of them. They've worked hard and they deserve every single good thing that they get in return.
The charity projects that ARMY do are incredible, it makes me so emotional seeing what this fanbase is capable of and how much goodness and joy they bring to people who need it. ARMY is changing the world.
You're reactions are so introspective and genuine and respectful. I really like watching you and hearing your thoughts and conclusions to the information that you get. Your videos are always so well put together. You're my favourite reactor out of all the ones I've watched. You nice, keep going!! Have a good day! Annyeong~~~ 💜💜💜
The champ : wow 89 countries
MONO : hold my wig
technically now 90 countries after the new peak from the last month event, but yeah still not mono's 91 countries. BTS only competition is BTS nowdays :)
They truly are a family. Thank you for watching more and getting to know them. The MAMA award show is in 5 1/2 hours!!!! Cannot wait to see what they perform. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I really cried throughout the whole Video, because it is such a fact that BTS is more than just a group of young Men. Every A.r.m.y has her/his own reason why BTS is more. From learning to love themselves to surviving the deepest depression..everything.
And I love it how you not only react to their Music but also dig deeper what's behind all that.
I'm grateful that you gave them a try. They're so worth it. :)
/long comment but im taking adventage of the fact that there are few lol, info at the end/
4:45 same, i look at artists who make their own music with other eyes
7:20 i know right! I love that jacket he wore too lol
8:50 that's a good way to look at them. It's like their endless "theme" you could say. What it's amazing to me is that it's not fake at all and it's been there since the begining. You can see that goal/mentality of helping others in their daily life comments and actions. I cant remember if you saw the clip but there is one where RM says sth along the lines of "If your pain is 100 on a scale of 100, and our music, pictures, perfomances, anything, can lower your pain to 99, 98... then our existence is worth it."
At some moment you will probably want to react to their most political songs, i think when that happens you should also react to the korean channel DKTV's explained videos about them bc otherwise you will miss a lot (bc of languahe barrier, cultural references and info that might not be of common knowdlege to everybody)
Lastly! You said you want to go in deep with every members sooo
.Jin: Epiphany (solo song, 2016), Tonight (his song, 2019), he has many covers you can find easly like Mom
.Suga: First Love (2016), he made a mixtape (Agust D, 2016) and is currently working on another one. From what he said in Bon Voyage 4 i'm guessing it will be finished a few months into 2020 but who knows, it depends on their schedule and his allnighters. If you just want a few songs from it then: The Last, So far away (ver. with jin and jk), 724148 and Agust D. He produced Song Request (rapped there too), Wine and We Don't Talk Together for other artists
.JHope: Chicken Noodle Soup (new! remake, collab with female latin artist), from Hope World (mixtape, 2018): P.O.P, Daydream, Airplane, Base Line
.RM: Always (2016), mono. (mixtape/"playlist", 2019): moonchild, uhgood, everythingoes, seoul
.Jimin: Promise (first song he fully wrote! has a nice story i'll definitly fill you with if you react to it, 12/31/2018), Serendipity (solo long, 2018), Lie (same, 2016)
.V: Winter Bear and Scenary were made by him, Singularity (solo, 2018), Stigma (solo, 2016)
.Jungkook (you can call him JK btw): Euphoria (solo, 2018), Begin (solo, 2016), Decalcomania (a few months ago), he has made lots of covers like Ending Scene, Only Then, If You (2015).. on twitter too: ruclips.net/video/uI0djtnVE7k/видео.html
Extra: no bunddles!
Spoiler free, i swear You forgot to mention Awake that is also a solo song by Jin ☺️
@@MBella123 omg!!
I agree, but people who don’t contribute to their music aren’t artists to me, just singers
@@hmaroni9572 Singers ARE artists, cuz they emote the songs they sing & bring diff. flavors to them..If they play an instrument, it adds to their "bag of musical tricks"..These amazing guys are prolific, deep (& real good) Song+Rapwriters, Singers, Best Rap Trio ever & Producers, Musicians, which makes for more fully rounded artists, espec. when you add socially conscious lyrics since teens & each add'l skill also makes you more marketable/interesting to listeners/viewers💜
You have to see them in concert. 3 hours of high octane and some of the greatest solo work you will ever hear. If you haven't, please react to Jimins Serendipity & LIE, Jin's Epiphany, V;s Singularity, JK's Euphoria. Did you see that BTS won every award they were up for at MAMA awards On Wed. Night? Jimmy Fallon gave them an award. Me thinks they will be back on his show next time they are in NYC and also did you see that Halsey says that Suga is on her next album. How LIT is that? Thanks for your thoughts.
there's no other artists in the world that their fans feel connected to other than BTS. they are genuine people who love and care for each other and their fans. BTS is the definition of beauty and perfection in every sense of the word! BTS is the best! there's nothing like BTS!
Best selling album of 2019!!! I want to see what will happen when they will have a comeback, internet is not going to broke, THE WORLD is going to broke!!!!
why would you use our full government name like that.
I can’t wait for you to see the guides! They are great
3 million albums in just a month not 2019, they have sold more than 4 million of map of the soul this year, plus there old albums are selling great amount to
Yes. Actually some older kpop idol members and a few music show crew & reporters talk about that before. That some members of this or that group actually hate each other a lot, and not in a good relationship. Like they didn't even talk to each other like friends or always arguing with each other.
When BTS debuted and show how they care and protect each other, people think that's just an act like other group. But when they meet them at backstage or make-up room or waiting room, that's just how BTS are. They said BTS always with each other and act like a school girls (they always together, joking and playing around, talking and having fun with each other a lot. of course not all the time) and they are really polite and kind.
their ex-staff (like bodyguard or photographer) even reporters always said that about them.
Great video, thank you for giving them a chance. A lot of artists try to come across as "positive" but it rarely seems genuine or insightful. They somehow pull it off without it being cheesy/forced.
I saw you reacted to MMA 2019 you may want to check their next award show at MAMA2019 it was lit
I can’t watch that video without crying Bts are something that are just a one of kind special
What you said about their bond with each other and how it can impact others really hits me hard. As an aromantic person, people always saying "just friends" and undermining platonic bonds hurts and will always make me feel like I could never be a truly important person to someone else, like romance will always be more important than friends. Them having that close bond with each other comforts me so much. I know someday they'll have their spouses and kids, but that won't mean they aren't just as close and important to each other as they're now. They're a each other's second family and they can have a third one without breaking the two others.
The individual guides by gadaursan are the best for getting to know the members individually.
I love how invested in BTS you are getting and wanting to know them individually. They all are so special and unique and bring something to the table. To me, they are once in a lifetime artists.
Introduction to bts the bulletproof series is a pretty informative guide to knowing the boys a bit more I suggest you check that out one 💖
Bts would go to the ends of the world for each other and that’s beautiful to me I became a army when I really needed someone and honestly they helped me become who I am they taught me to not just love myself but accept myself it’s ok to be different they taught me to never give up and even if I’m the underdog I can always rise to the occasion it’s ok to be down but don’t stay down stand tall and bump shoulders if need be your your own super hero and I’m so grateful for those lessons
Well said well said. 💜💜💜💜
Btw 3 Million copies of album sales in it's first month. Not whole year. It's over 4 Million copies right now. 💜
Honestly this video should be called “BTS contribution to THIER music” it would give more ideas as to what the video is.
Really glad you watched!
BTS albums are special.
It's not just a CD.
It comes with a photo book and special photo cards and posters and other small gifts. Also the 4 bts love yourself albums and persona album have 4 different versions. Different pictures and gifts.
That's why it's so easy for BTS to sale millions of albums. No one really used the CD. We in it for the special pictures n stuff
I buy design and fashion books, I treat the CD photo book as one, it really good value for money for me plus sometimes i give the CD itself in clear CD bag to relatives, it helps to warm up the older folk to my interests.
Thank you so much for reacting to this video 🥺💜💜
They're good people
The Champ Of Medium Yes they are, they’ve helped a lot and inspired many including myself. I’m excited to see you react to their solo stuff so you can have a better understanding of all their unique styles and how although they’re different solo they work even more amazing(my opinion) together. I’m happy you’re enjoying this journey along the rabbit hole lol
When I saw this video was only around 15 min, I was sad, but you really know how to make the most of your time on camera. Not a lot of reactors have managed to acquire this skill, but you've mastered it. You don't repeat yourself, or waste time. I really love your reaction style.
I probably cut like 10 minutes of me just babbling lmao
The Champ Of Medium Lol I'd be surprised if you didn't. Some reactors don't even bother cutting stuff and it really wears out the viewer. You seem to know just the right amount of content to keep your audience engaged. Definitely one of my favorite reaction channels.
React to Rm and fall out boy, please 😁
I totally agree with everything you said at the end, well in the whole video but especially at the end, (when it comes to tv shows u love and it turns out the actors hated each other). That is why for me, BTS's music, visual and talent made me love them but their personalities, sincerity, group chemistry and passion is what made me stay and will make me stay till the end. Can't wait to journey with you as you watch more videos of them :D
They've now sold 4.3 million albums if I remember correctly.
Also happy birthday Seokjinah!
Also congratulations on another Daesang sweep at MAMA 2019!
Hey glad you liked that video! For the guides, other people may have already said it but just in case; I recommend the serie made by gadaursan
It's really well put together and objective ^^
I like this video so much, thank you!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for your Reactions!
Requests: (orig mvs please)
Not Today ~ personal top 20

Thx again! 🔥💜
I feel you.. As a metal and rock music enthusiast I definitely pay attention to artists' contribution to their albums. Therefore it's more possible for me to become a fan of ppl like this rather than ppl that just perform songs written by others.
You should check out ARMYPEDIA BTS Talkshow (No more dream, Just one day, I like it -Live band versions), I have a feeling that you'd like this 😁
So beautiful and ansome person
4 mins into your video, where you said you paid more attention to them after knowing they contribute in their music, is where i decided to subscribe.
This was also the reason i got into them.
Not their looks. Contrary to popular believe (as a female fan).
You are my favorite YT creator. Thank you I really enjoyed. From J-ARMY.
if you take the total amount of all BTS albums sold in 2019 thus far (meaning all album purchases from their entire discography), it’s over 6 million sold. map of the soul: persona, their game soundtrack, and older albums. they breaking the entire music industry
I totally agree with the feeling that when u learn that cast or group members don't get along, it takes away the magic a little. However, for actors, if they fooled us, it means they're good at their job ... But when they're promoting for ex, we'll know it's fake so I won't wanna see it. For a group it's different bc though they present their stage persona, the audience also expect them to put a part of their true selves, through the prism of the stage persona
Map of the Soul 7 has already presold 4 million copies. It’s insane.
Love your reactions...look forward to more... what is the significance of the necklace or rosary around your wrist and hand
I love your hashtag #StanTalent 👏
It's crazy they have so many album sales without bundling which is the main way top artist makes money. If you look at the top selling albums of 2019 in the US, BTS is the only artist who's there without bundling, and they're at the top too. If Bighit did include bundling, their sales would be unimaginable since the fanbase tends to sell out merch and get it restocked regularly (we even sold out the Hyundai car which was $30k and Hyundai did research of BTS and their impact since they've been brand ambassadors, it helps that most armys are 20-40s so are working and earning money to spend)
excelente, gracias por tu reaccion
They started out sleeping in the same room because they had nothing now they basicly have everything but they still have a humble outlook just like they had in the bigining in that one room
I for one like it if you talk over the video, I'm here for your comments, not the vid XD
About the albums, what's interesting is that Big Hit boss Bang said recently that he saw album sales were dropping worldwide, and thought to make an act that was so good live that concerts would bring in money.
His group turned out to single handedly reverse the lowering album sales trend. And still sell concerts!
Love it
RM & JHOPE are also FULL members

Just want to say RM's accent isn't "ghetto" thats a stereotype and you can still be professional and have that accent. He learnt it from watching videos of his favourite rappers to learn English and rapping, since he's native Korean he doesn't have any natural accent when it comes to speaking English so he developed their speaking patterns. People have critisised him for his accent though trying to 'sound black' (although not everyone with that accent is necessarily black but anyway) so he's been trying to use a more 'standard' American accent, but its very hard to change speaking habits once you learn them.
lol i'm just crying, thanks i love your thoughts
Get prepared to watch MAMA even if you don’t react to it. It was really awesome too and they made history again. I can’t really deal with it yet.
Edit: Also don’t worry about the way you react, your videos are awesome and your reaction type is cool too. People react to things different ways. As long as you don’t miss important parts of the video then it’s fine that you talk, and you usually don’t miss stuff!
Talking about RMs voice/accent it's because with more practice he got better at pronouncing English.
First clip interview is from 2017. The other one is from 2019.
that was MNEK his songs are GOLD
no, I like hearing your thoughts. I really don't mind your pauses at all.
talking over a video sorta distracts the viewer (us) from enjoying too, bc there’s like 3 different thoughts we have to keep track of at once-our current reaction to the video, recalling our old reaction to the video, and reacting to your reaction to the video. i bet you still hear a lot of things in the video since you got those headphones on. so i dont really have an issue with you talking over the video. it’s just hard for me to concentrate & figure out what to listen to/react to/focus on.
just do it your way!
모두 사실입니다!
겸손한 일곱명의 천재들이
세상에 태어난 이유가 너무
분명합니다!!
존경합니다 BTS!!🙏💜💜💜
I'm cry in the end...
I'm special goddamit... you got me.
I just want to say that those guides to individual members may not include new things and also may not include important things. I really don't know which guides you were talking about and maybe there are some I don't know of. I didn't really need a guide since most of it I learned on research and just being there to see something myself( BY BEING THERE I JUST MEAN BEING ALIVE AND LEARNING AS IT HAPPENED), lol. It is fun to watch people learn about BTS through the guides/videos or whatever.
Recently MOTS: Persona shot back up to #2 on the Billboard album chart (all 14 bts' albums went into the charts), because Army was upset and bought more albums, when Peoples' Choice Awards did not award BTS any wins despite BTS getting more votes. So hell yeah, they have sold lots of albums, much more than any kpop act ever. And the margin between bts and the 2nd, is hugeee. Bts as a single artist push BigHit into #1 spot in terms of album sales. YG (the agency for BlackPink & BigBang) has dropped to #5.
If you want to know the vocal line, here are some of their solo songs!
JungKook : Euphoria, Begin
Jimin : Serendipity, Lie
V : Singularity, Stigma
Jin : Epiphany, Awake.
BTS forever💜💜💜👄👄👄
You should start putting the original video link in the description. It's just a way to give credit to the original video creator.
And also I hope you check out the introduction videos by Gadaursan
youre absolutely right
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Great reaction, bro.
💜
Yes...do you!! Watch/react to *Do You* by RM!! #ProudARMY
Steve Aoki is collabaration not Bighit in hause producers 😊😊😊. Just a little bit correction ✌️
OH man, add All Bangtans Considered's bios to your watchlist for the individual members. RM is her bias and she's created 4 short vids on him that are not to be missed. They are also better watched early in your education.
I hope you'll react to Seventeen also 😊
Hey will u be reacting to the BTS storyline of the BTS universe. Meaning all their music videos are inter-connected and are piece's of a puzzle of a story they are trying to tell. Let me know if u will I'll will send u the links. Coz its a very very very big part of them as artist and why we are so invested in them. When they release a new MV we always hope to find new clues or pieces to the story
MAMA is happening in a few hours. So uh. That high isn’t gonna go away anytime soon lol.
Edit: They sold more than 4 million copies of Persona so far. Also, they regularly hit No. 1 in around 100 countries every time they release new music.
I thought it was clear that even though you were talking, you were also reading because you would then comment on what was on the screen. ARMY can be too damn much sometimes. You are, by far, the best white guy reacting to BTS.
I left this comment and then you referred to a “hood accent” and “ghetto RM.” Please don’t do that. Thanks.
Considerating that armys dont buy just 1 album but 4 (all the versions)
4 Milion today
If you'd like to get to know more about them I definitely suggest reacting to gadaursan's intro to bts videos!! The series has 8 episodes that are about 8 min long (there's an episode for each individual member and one for the group as a whole). If you're interested, here's a playlist with all the best intro to bts videos. ruclips.net/p/PL8GvtdNr1t9ndjnLpRmZmH-aLcRSohmxd
Today is Jin's Birthday, so it kind of feels like a present XD
