I hope all those who treated her badly(actors, husbands, boyfriends, moguls, studio ex) felt guilty and are burning in hell. No one knows what they have till it's gone.
@melisa GALVALIZI or maybe hope that they learned something from the experience and have turned the corner to has become loving and supportive people. Much love to everyone and these beautiful and talented women are so awesome to watch!
In 1964, popular music was going through a seismic transition. Only adults were watching and listening to artists like Judy. TV execs are impressed only by how many people are watching. Today, I'm sixty years older than I was then and recognize how valuable those shows were and are, a point of view I didn't have then, when I was nine.

Judy is unrivaled and she just glows onstage, she was truly the greatest entertainer of our time , and Liza has followed in her footsteps, Liza is absolutely beautiful and stunning!!
Just watched a recording of when Liza performed in London. So amazing to see her here in her early days. Both such great talents, very much like eachother vocally at times. Total stars!
@@Michelle-rb2mz Yes, she was great in that, I wish her scenes were longer, she was the main reason I have watched it. Sadly her last appearance in it was over 10 years ago. Because of her health issues there will be no new album or any acting from her ever again, just some possible interviews including her documentary and a book (written by a help of a ghostwriter) which not sure if it’s an autobiography or if it’s about her jewellery’s… Lorna is still performing, saw her a few weeks ago…
Thank you for giving us this excellent show from the best performer ever, Judy Garland! I am 54, old😂, but so wish I could of seen her in concert. This show needs to be re-released on DVD. Ps. Jerry Van Dyke was absolutely horrible.
Jerry really wasn't needed on the program-but CBS *had* to use him in some capacity, as he was under contract to the network {he previously hosted a summer game show for them, "PICTURE THIS"}, so they thought using him as "comedy relief" would be perfect for Judy. He wasn't. He was dismissed after 11 episodes.
Putting her show on opposite of Bonanza was another kick in the face! In an age when not every household had a television! Or air conditioner or stereo! 😢 You deserved better Judy!
I must confess that I sometimes found Liza too shrill and manic in her early years. But then, you watch her sing "You Are For Loving" quite exquisitely in this show and it's all there. You instantly see the great artiste that she would become.
What was so tragic about this magical show was it wasn't until it was canceled by CBS they figured out they should have just stood back and let her do her thing 😢
Sweet and dynamic show. That look on the proud mother. Heartfelt moments ❤. And oh what a random appearance of the great Hermanos Castro .. Thank you for uploading this ❤...💜🌿
Judy was styled so beautifully on this series. Her body, hair, clothes and makeup were never better than in this series. Shame she quickly declined afterward.
I completely agree about her styling. I've read she was never fussy about her hair or costumes during the run of the series as many may be. Arguably she was at her most beautiful and her voice was remarkable. Personally, I agree, her appearance and voice were never the same after her series. Judy was a gift from God.
Ray Aghayan was the designer of the costumes for this show. He also had Bob Mackie assist him with this. He and Bob were partners in business and life. I’m not sure if Bob received credit on the show, however. I think they did an excellent job.
I loved this show in particular because of the interaction between mother and daughter so endearing after all these years I wonder if Liza Dale's back into the past to revisit her mother in the only way she can great show Ray routines throughout the entire segment

The Judy Garland Show was on CBS Sunday night at 9 opposite "Bonanza". She beat Bonanza in the ratings in the big urban areas, but outside the big city metros Bonanza slaughtered her in the ratings. I guess when you put a great singer performing Gershwin against a bunch of cowboys, which show do you think the rural viewers will pick?
There is not one salvageable Jerry can Dyke scene in any of the Judy TV series. I wouldn’t mind him being excised from every scene. Those idiots at CBS were in the wrong jobs. Who could think a relative unknown (and terrible) comic would elevate the show in any way. However, glad to have these digitally forever in regard to Judy (and in this case Liza).
I keep thinking about how the comedy was and how brilliant Judys singing and acting was, and George Schlatter (I think Judy's show was the first time he produced a show for TV) and did not know what to make of Jerry Van Dyke except that James (the smiling cobra) Aubrey insisted that Jerry be a part of the show. Jerry's only claim to anything funny was the Lone ranger sketch which was not half bad, and I found myself chuckling at the absurdity of it. Since Tv variety were of a compartmentalization style nature with different segments that an audience could look forward to each week (Judy's show eventually took that on, until her last producer Bill Colleran said just let the lady do what she does best and sing, and the ratings picked up dramatically) like Judy's trunk segment/tea for 2 segment/ medley segment etc. I think if instead trying to give Jerry, Lucille ball schitck to do and fail miserably trying to integrate him into the show as a key comedy leading player, it might have been more successful to give Jerry his own segment of a 5 minute condensed old time radio show funny pantomine, and maybe 10 mintues if a guest star like Mickey Rooney who was insanely comical wanted to join jerry. It is a shame that someone as brilliant as George Schlatter was (he went on to produce "Laugh In") did not conceive of something like this to appease the network executive morons and at the same time make the show work.
I love this! I particularly enjoy the parts with Judy. The addition of Jerry Van Dyke was a mistake. He wasn’t funny, and they used him FAR too much. It should’ve been called “The Judy Garland and Jerry Van Dyke Hour”.
