She is a national treasure ❤️
Daughter of a legend and a very gifted father she has lived up to legendary status on her own. Definitely a treasure! WE think you are perfect Liza.
World treasure
An international treasure, for sure! ❤
La conoci en Roma en San Souci..(restaurante )y en La Cle
.de Roma tambien ADORABLE
Wow, ok, thanks for breaking my breaking "Gaydar" :\
Gotta love Liza. Not just a life survivor, but a life thriver. Judy is smiling.
YES she is ❤
For those who think that talent can be and is genetic, Liza is unmistakable proof. Both Judy and Liza had and have way more talent than anyone has a right to.
Also her Dad. Don't forget him.
...that and exposure to all things theater and film, and the desire...
@@thetruthserum2816 it may have gotten her jobs, but she made a career for herself. You're right though, it definetly helps to have that exposure; but she worked hard too
Liza is incredibly insightful that coupled with her openness and curiosity. Is a wonderful breeding ground for her gifts to bloom. Jxxx
At least they were able to give it to everyone. That's a helluva gift. There's a lot of nepotism in show business. She's not an example of it. She deserved fully to be famous, though the head start of exposure and instruction sure didn't hurt.
It’s hard to recognize her legendary status when her mother is one of the biggest icons to ever live. But she’s just as much an icon.
She's in that same league though. She's not a singer so much as a performer of the very highest caliber.
Liza looked more like her Dad when she was younger, but looks more like her Mom in these sunset years. And, of course, she's ALWAYS had her voice, like her Mom.
You’re spot on !
Love the shots of her singing w her mom. Did she ever have her own children? I guess when she goes, Judy Garland's genes goes w her too. Kinda wish she had children herself to pass all that talent to. They're both so amazing!
@@utubefreshie No, she never had children. For some reason, every man she married was gay, her mother also got married to gay men. It’s too late for her to have children now but they will never be forgotten.
@@utubefreshie …Judy Garland’s genes were passed down to the children of her other daughter, Lorna Luft. Judy had a son too, but I don’t think he had children either.
@@j.c7719 Aaah! Interesting. Yes, the last husband did seem gay. Maybe she's just more comfortable with them. They are more nurturing than most men to begin with. Liza always struck me as someone who wore her heart on her sleeve. Bless her.
I always love the clips of Liza performing with her mother. And that clip where Judy Garland is sitting the floor watching Liza perform, you could see the pride and love she felt for her talented daughter. I always think of how she would have felt to see Liza in Cabaret and winning the Oscar for her performance. I imagine she'd have been over the rainbow.
🌈😭😭😭😭
This comment made me tear up. Beautifully put. Thank you. ❤️
Judy was in the wings when Liza was singing. Judy and Liza had been singing together. Then this was Liza's solo spot. Liza said her mom had walked off stage but that Judy Garland ad walked back on and tried to upstage her. Liza never appeared on stage with Judy again. John Sivorn
Nice comment ❤
The look of admiration on Jane's face listening to Liza at the beginning of the piece! Michael Fienstein is so fabulous too. Judy and Liza singing together, you cannot beat that!
Maybe Liza and Gaga could do a song together... I'd love that.
Liza looks just like her mom.
Great idea!
Liza has always had the most beautiful smile.
Liza continues to be living proof that here is such strength in daring to be openly vulnerable.
Jet, Daring eh ? you are doing the most.
@@PHlophe *The name is JEF.*
Daring to be vulnerable? She's an elderly woman, you can’t help but be that.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis Rude. He's using a different definition of "vulnerable" than what you're thinking of. Look it up in the dictionary. 🙄🤦♀️
Well said. Totally true.
Liza still has it..I want to thank my dear mom who has passed for making me watch Liza live on HBO the New Orleans concert I think that brought me and my mom together even closer and then when I was older my mom took me to see Liza alive. I just want to say Liza Minnelli will always have a big part in my heart ❤️❤️
Liza and Cabaret. The stars aligned. This is where the talent, star power, material, costumes, attitude, etc...all met in cinema history. Unforgettable performance.
Luved it so much!😀😀
The hottest performer in town in the hottest movie around.
Likewise with "Liza with a Z." "I had great people around me." Fosse, Kander & Ebb, Halston, Hamlisch. Liza herself.
Thanks for the compliment
I’m so gratified to see Liza in this segment. Certainly, the camera has caught her in much more vulnerable moments. And Jane, you brought these beautiful moments to us with your timeless grace and a professionalism that is unmatched.
It's not possible to put into words how much I love her.
Liza looks so regal, so beautiful. And Michael is so poised and articulate. What a great friendship!
Such expression, such strength, such talent. A real professional, an outstanding performer. And she thanks collaborators and co-performers warmly, which shows what a great person she is.
I've loved Liza since I saw 'Cabaret' as a teen. She's a trooper yet always seems so vulnerable.
Liza’s genuine warmth always comes through; great talent. Her mom was Judy Garland and her dad was Vincent Minnelli what a gene pool!
Oh my goodness I love this woman. Thank you so much for this interview and I’m thrilled to hear a new musical collaboration is coming.
she is white privilege extraordinaire with nepotism of the highest magnitude
Hello Barbara, great comment, how are you doing?
The legendary star. So good she is performing again.
Two legends, Liza and her mother.
i will never forget meeting her when i was a dancer at the lido de paris, she came backstage and chatted with us, the artists!
Wish I had seen the Cabaret rerelease. Truly her mom's daughter. The great Liza.
Yes!! SM expressed it, spectacularly, &, exactly! "Lovingly vulnerable"!!!!! Always,!! Because she wore Bob Mackie SO bravely back then. (BC) (Before Cher).. Please, forgive me, if I am wrong, about the dates.. I love & have loved, Liza, being the ONLY Woman in the "Rat Pack"! If she had a, Me Too, minute or more. She has been given the "Grace & Time", most of us have never been given. She was a femininist & feminine. Let her say. (.) If she would like to say something. Her life as an "IT" girl has, been A MOST original, audacious and best maneuvered, we, have yet, to see, or has been seen, or duplicated, (Please, forgive me, should I be mistaken, per your opinion). Herself alone, in a day, age, Matriarchy, Patriarchy, before my birth, "Gorgeous" as, not, to be seen again, existence!
That's just the public self/side of her! I can't hardly imagine her private life. I Love you and your family Miss Liza! Take care, and God Bless.
Michael feinstein is 65 years old here. He looks absolutely amazing.
Just fell in love with Liza - again. Thanks for opening up, Liza ❤️
Hello Jennifer, great comment, how are you doing?
She has a great talent, and tons of grace. Always so good to hear her talk and watch her performances….Superb, healing talent, it feels great to watch her.
I saw her almost 40 years ago along with Sinatra and Sammy Davis at the Fox in Detroit. She was without peer. She was mesmerizing all by herself. I'll be grateful for that experience for the rest of my life.
IWas blessed to have seen her opening night Carnegie Hall late 1970s head to toe in black Halston pantsuit her first half was her hits intermission then a full tribute of Judy Garland hits its a night I'll never forget!!!
My begeast singer of this century❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤for me
Guuuurl!!! You're still knocking it out of the water!!! Love you!
She killed it as Lucille #2 in Arrested Development. What a talent.
Love love love Liza! amazing lady ,, she brings tears to my eyes with her unique voice.
Her and her mother, what a blessing to us, endless entertainment, I am sorry for the troubles they both had through their lives but forever grateful they were part of mine.
Such a treasure. And you were so much more than alright Liza. You were and are the very best. Thank you for all the years of thrills and chills. They’ll be with me always. ❤️
Liza still has her beautiful voice❣️
Bless you Miss Liza Minnelli❣️❣️❣️😘
I just adore her.🖤
I am 40 and just discovered her. man I am in love with young her
Thanks for the compliment
Truly an icon, and her voice is still so amazing ❤️
um, no it's not.
@Skip Bo you're not very nice
@@Skipbo000 As professional singers age, their voice changes, and they can't hit the high notes.
@@Skipbo000Thank you for being honest. Her voice is in tatters and has been for years. I love her, but tell it like it is.
@@l.a.3479 Her age is only one of the reasons. In her prime, she would perform as many as 300 concerts a year. That wears out the voice. Plus she had vocal chord surgery which changed her voice. Plus she always smoked and drank. Put that with all her illnesses and her voice is a shadow of what it was. But she was a great singer in her heyday.
What a legend…Liza you are a one of a kind…Loved and cherished by the world…💕💝💕
I love her and her mother I grew up watching them both
I love Liza! The first time I met Liza was when we were invited backstage after Flora the Red Menace on Broadway. She has such a beauty heart and personality.
Liza you are so loved and treasured. I hope you know how much joy and pleasure you've added to so many lives. Thank you seems so inadequate for all that you've given us. Just know that you are loved and have left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment.
She has been knocked down and she keeps getting up, she is the ultimate inspiration for all of us who go through the same things in life. I love watching her and hearing her talk about life. XOXOXO
Judy Garland was an incredible talent and so is Liza Minnelli ❤️
That's Liza Minnelli in her film Cabaret and her days being an actress in many films and her image is part of our "Sunday Best" our weekly rebroadcast of memorable Sunday Morning segments which will lead to our 45th anniversary in January 2024
Jane Pauley has a Sunday Profile of an actress who shows no signs of slowing down
Thanks for the interview! LOVE her ❤️ So wish to still see her live performance 🤞
Hello Inna, great comment, how are you doing?
Tears of joy and sorrow. I can't muster up much more than that right now because this piece gripped me. PS...Lady Gaga should play her because Gaga has proven she's got the hootspah to do it.
I’ve always admired Liza as a singer performer. But seeing her in interviews, especially this one, I like her as a person.
This lady is very unique and talented.
Saw her in Dallas when I was younger. I cried. I was so amazed. That talent!!! 👍🏼❤️🎶🎤#LizaForever
Hello Viviana, she's an awesomely talented musician,
How are you doing?
Liza Minnelli is such a legend. I love her ♥️♥️♥️
Let’s not forget ‘Lucille 2” and her ‘“All the single ladies” rendition in Sex and the City. But I also loved her in Broadway’s “The Act” and numerous west coast concerts. ❤️🎭👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
And Arthur. She was a hoot!
Liza and her mother the Grand Judy were blessed with sublime vocal talent ...........
Her and her mama were some unbelievably talented women
We love you for ever...We loved your mother for ever......The world will love you for ever....
So much talent !
I adore Ms Liza.
The true definition of a performer and entertainer!!! 💙❤️💙 A Rare Living Legend
She is her mother's twin in her older years.
Sweet Liza - oh yes - I have felt like this and appreciate that you seek connection. You have meant so much to so many!❤️
Liza with a z,the greatest female entertainer that ever performed.
America doesn't have royalty, but Liza is up there.
Two Broadway Icons just hanging-out. Gershwin, too.👏
I cried... so beautiful
"I'm not embarrassed to be with you, I'm embarrassed to be SEEN with you!"
A true legend & treasure...!!! ❤
She is the one and multiple talented love her forever 💕

Que ARTISTA INCREÍBLE !!!!!
Que suerte tuvimos de crecer mirando y admirando a esta maravillosa creativa generación!!!!
Wish I could have seen her live in the 80s. My favorite movie is Cabaret.
Hello Laura, great comment, how are you doing?
Kennedy Honor NOW!
Giving This Legend Her....💐💐💐💐💐
Iconic talent
THEY ARE THE BEST!!!! She is a great performer in all the meanings possible. And she is a great actress, when she sings she is acting the story.
She is remarkable
Liza the one and only multitalented 🥰 Thank you Liza for sharing your gift with the world❤️
Best movie ever " Arthur" ... genious, talented woman
A true icon
Liza needs to be having the presidential medal of freedom and Kennedy center honors ❤❤
Jane Pauley just looks SO THRILLED 😁 to be interviewing Liza. I love it😃
A tremendous talent. My dad used to blast her recording of Cabaret as he drove home to our old family homestead in the country. He'd sing along. He'd be pulling in the driveway..."Life is a Cabaret old chum...come to the Cabaret!"
Little did we realize!
Special interview. Thanks for sharing.
I just love her singing and absolutely loved her in the Arthur movies. Also loved her mother as well. So much talent given to us by these wonderful women!
I was bummed they didn’t reference her role in Arthur. On top of why things else she proved she’s a wonderful comedic actor. Talent up talent upon talent upon hard work. She has said some incredibly lovey things about Dudley Moore in other interviews.
A legends among the legends
Living legend that sadly I feel doesn’t get the amount of credit and love she should do at this age…
Eternal legend
LOVE 😍 MS. LIZA SHE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A KENNEDY CENTER HONOR A LONG TIME AGO. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
So amazing ❤
I can really see the family resemblance now.
Love Ms Liza still. I remember seeing her in The Sterile Cocko in the early 60's as a child and I have loved her since.
She is absolutely amazing! A totally complete star! She is adorable!
