Music created by Doug Lofstrom on double bass with live processing. Video is created from photos and videos taken around Chicago of strikingly symmetrical scenes and objects.
Your BEST yet! Mesmerized. I notice a remarkable change in the way I SEE things in watching your video compilations...a small design on a wall becomes an in depth study into the mind of the designer, the hand that laid it into place, the time that it was created. You've tapped into a collective consciousness. Also, I LOVE your intros. Don't ever hold back, my friend.
Fantastic, Doug-this grabbed and held me. Your juxtaposition of music and architecture is very effective, and the editing is spot-on. As for the music: it stands alone as a beautiful composition, but it also marries perfectly with the imagery and pacing of the film. The whole thing made me feel centered and alert.Have you considered submitting this to a PBS show or other venue?
Hi Doug, I do agree with Darlene, I think that this composition is the most "you" that I know from your repertoire. Photography is improving too! What I hear is a power of synthesis that it's very difficult to achieve, say more with less but at the same time, complex and deceiving. Great, great job! I hope the musses continue to inspire you for long time!
This one rocks. Liking the building of a the piece into something that has its own sense of order. You're doing a great job of merging images and music. Although I know certain junctions are random, I get the feeling that the music was composed just for that particular spot. That happens multiple times throughout the piece. Really good Dougie.
