  • An early, crisp, Sunday morning in January, takes us to the Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve of Lackford Lakes. Situated on the edge of the Breckland's and Thetford Forest.
The Brecks is an area of Breckland in Suffolk and southern Norfolk. It’s a strange landscape, characterized by the twisted scots pines of Thetford Forest, purple heathland, rare wildlife, and uncommonly blue skies. As one of the driest places in the UK, the Breckland in Suffolk is favoured by walkers, cyclists and adventure sport enthusiasts. It’s also rich in human history, the towns and villages in The Brecks some of the most intriguing places to go in Suffolk.

Very cool! It was really helpful that you showed a map of your projected hike. The clip shows a lot of forethought & planning. Thanks for sharing this!

Many thanks to you for the comments, its great to know what people enjoy, and want to see. The idea is, I get to show as much as I think might be interesting, without turning it into an epic! Thanks again!

You're right - the path is very well marked! That is some green water in the swampy section, lol. So many birds in that lake. This place must be made for bird watchers with all those viewing buildings.

Cheers Josh, the lake areas were gravel pits, and was purchased by a local man, and a Wildlife Trust quite a few years back 👍

Lovely film mate! You're clearly a guy with the same interests as me. A friend and I are planning our first visit to Lackford in a few weeks to shoot some footage and photos for a short collabarative film. I've had no hesitation in subscribing to your channel as it's right up my street. Do please take a look at mine and see whether you like what you see. All the best & "Happy filming!" :-)
