Not idealistic at all... IR can be realistic and see the cruelest part of Human Nature, as Morgenthau would have established, whereas they can see the interaction of States in a Constructivist and sociological perspective (Alexander Wendt). Idealism or institutionalism is just one part of the reality of IR. IR can be really tricky and harder to study than even Physics or other natural sciences, taking into account that there is never an only way of looking and analyzing the behavior of States. Thus, this is what makes IR a really rich science and discipline. It’s sublime and exquisite.
This field has made me very interested more because it has some of the positive impact for this will help in eradication of the international chaos which are hindering the development in the developing states and am more proud to to the field

I’m a graduate of Political Science and Economics, I want to master International Relations, but I don’t know any other language. I speak English and Filipino fluently. Is learning another language a must before I can enroll?
Anyone here have a bachelors or master’s degree in IR and currently employed in the field? I find the topics related to IR very interesting, but I am worried about the the markets demand for those with this degree, and the competition for the jobs that do seek IR graduates. Anyone have any insights?

International studies is very broad. It usually is broke down into more specific degrees. One of these sub sections of international studies is IR.

They shy away from simplicity, since the deep and hard scrutiny of past events is not their priority. For them, simplicity is nudity, which they fear, as they feel vulnerable.
