      Over 75% of the countries in the UN have acknowledged the State of Palestine as a country.
      The US's veto alone has stopped the State of Palestine from being approved as a full member state of the UN.
      If a US president vetoes a law passed by Congress, a 2/3's vote - 66% - of both Houses of Congress is enough to override their veto.
      Seems there should be more than enough votes to override Israel's ... I mean the US governments... veto in the UN.
      The US government has turned into Israel's lapdog. The majority of them seem to be racist enough that they are more than willing to support the Zionists - Jewish Supremacists.
      Racism has no place in America ... especially in the US Government.
      -
      United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3379, adopted on 10 November 1975, "Determines that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination"

    • @mebaiaishan
      @mebaiaishan Месяц назад +9

      There should be right? But those big five wouldn't allowed it, I think. I mean, the decision is their's to make. Anything that would put their dominance in jeopardy will vetoed out in seconds.

      there is a way - calling an Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly, which overrides the Security Council, where if a majority of all nations vote on something it gets implemented. It has happened about a dozen times in the past and resulted in many concrete steps including the formation of the UN Police Force (peacekeepers), the UN Command, and direct peacekeeping force action in the Suez crisis of '56, economic & diplomatic sanctions on South Africa in '81. Currently, the ESS on Palestine-Israel and Ukraine-Russia are active but nothing concrete has been proposed yet even though the UNGA is well within its rights to send in a UN peacekeeping force to ensure ceasefire compliance in Palestine/Ukraine.

But even then, the Japanese on the other side of the globe got away with it. Some were persecuted in the Tokyo Trials, but most were granted amnseties. • @jamesbarnes3832
      @jamesbarnes3832 Месяц назад +2

      No. You have to join the ICC.
      Countries like the US and Israel did not join the ICC.
      -
      "On 17 July 1998, the international community reached an historic milestone when 120 States adopted the Rome Statute, the legal basis for establishing the permanent International Criminal Court. The Rome Statute entered into force on 1 July 2002 after ratification by 60 countries." - an ICC website
      -
      9/11 was 9/11/2001
      -
      "The Bush administration told the CIA in 2002 that its interrogators working abroad would not violate US prohibitions against torture unless they "have the specific intent to inflict severe pain or suffering", according to a previously secret US Justice Department memo released on July 24, 2008." - wiki
      -
      The claim is that the US couldn't join the ICC because it would violate the US Constitution, but this seems to be a flimsy excuse to avoid the President and high ranking officials having to appear before the ICC for committing crimes against humanity.

      "The ICC accepted “The State of Palestine” as a member in 2015, a year after the Palestinians accepted the court's jurisdiction. The court's chief prosecutor at the time announced in 2021 that she was opening an investigation into possible crimes on Palestinian territory." - pbs org

    So ICC arrest warrant is very much like a lucky packet, it all depends on circumstances changing in order to enforce the warrent. Do these people even listen to themselves?

    Why is there no application to the ICC court for arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Biden, Olaf Scholz and Rishi Sunak for committing genocide and aiding genocide ?

    A law is made possible by the ability of the law maker to forcibly compel someone to follow the law. If that's not possible, then the law is meaningless.

    My opinion - Int. Law and the UNSC veto power rule are simply nonsense as there are more countries in the UNSC than 5. I hope to see a UNSC with no veto power but equal rights of countries to vote in resolutions of issues as it relates to the international community.
