Love this car. Bought the 3.0 AWD July 2018, now 33k miles, no problems. Cornering is outstanding.. always enough power to the point of being scary. Braking is fantastic.
Just bought mine Saturday. Was just going to look at cars. Ended up walking into Infiniti. They offered me the same as carmax. 10k for my car. Once i test drove this car i drove it home 😂 now im an owner of a 2018 Infiniti Q50 Luxe. Had a G35 a couple years ago. Got rear ended at a rad light and it was totaled. Im juiced about owning another Infiniti
Alex you are literally one of the BEST car analyst on RUclips. Professional commentary on cars in addition to the comparisons to competitor cars which definitely helped me on my decisions. Was looking to buy a 2020 Infinity Q50 but was struggling between that and the 2020 Lexus IS series OR 2020 BMW 330i. Thank you so much!!!
If Infinity does update the interior then they MUST bring their clock back to all of their dashboards. I know that it doesn't solve the car's flaws but it is an identifying feature that consumers expect in this brand. In that Infinity's sedans so closely resemble those from Maserati it is that much more important.
2:55 double check the thigh extension adjustment. I don't believe it's power, it simply extends like it does on other German brands. Big tip for everyone interested: Ditch the Stock Runflat tires. They are HORRIBLE and you will completely transform the vehicle dynamics with performance summer or all season tires. You will thank yourself for doing so. The stock Runflats are so hard and noisy that I'm amazed any manufacturer uses them.
Just scored a 2016 RS400. Honestly, its such a nice ride out of the box. Handles extremely well and the power is there when you need it. Fast, comfortable, reliable and fun. The kiddos love it too and named her Rose.
I had this for 2 days as a loaner. Omg. It’s incredible. I even humbled a Porsche (not a race or anything, just shook him off). The trans is one of the best I’ve ever driven. I only wished the Q70 had the same engine. Could do with the larger size.
Thank you Alex for yet another SPECTACULAR value comparison review. In 2013 I bought outright a G37x sedan with premium, navigation and sports packages with $45,000 MSRP. Adjusted for 2% annual inflation that's $49,684 in today's today. Configuring Q50 3.0t a moment ago, with equivalent packages, plus more standard features, gives me MSRP $49,660. That's a damn good proposition from Infiniti. Think about it, a 2017 equivalent of 2013 vehicle, with a little more bells and whistles, for the same money. What other manufacturer does it?
I had a 2018 A4 as a service loaner once.......ONCE.......About the only rental/loaner that I was sort of hoping to get hit in. Just dropped some coi. On a 2015 Q70L 3.7....partly due to the 3.7 reliability but partly a decent deal and coming from a previous M37 I had a decent idea of how they drive, handle, comfort, etc.... Although Turbos and Twin Turbos have been around a while I would give Infiniti more time to tweak the technology and see if they can get better mileage without a major sacrifice in performance. If your only getting 21 for a TT V6 I was squeaking out mid 20’s highway in a normally aspirated 3.7 and on a larger vehicle platform. (M37). Alex, have you or anyone video a comparison between the Q50 and Q70? yes I know different engines but basically same platform. And Q50 been more updated in terms of technology, performance and design but a same model year close comparison vehicles should be able to be found.
Great video buddy I am trying to get a 2016 with hail damage but still excited. Just wish I wasn't a loser and could get a nicer one..... lol. If I ever win the lotto I would get a 2018 or 19. NICE DETAILS IN VIDEO...... GREAT JOB
I wonder how many owners willl be praising the 3.0TT after the Turbos fail....OUT OF WARRANTY........ Remember Gadgets is German for. Credit Card number please!! Having had a A6 (X2). E Class, 528i, TLX and M37 sounds Ike my choice for the 215 Q70L WAWD 3.7 has been validated as a good one. I have had a TT V6 full size luxury/performance sedan and TTV6 SUV they are nice but MPG figures embellished compared to real world driving. I I realize that the Q50 and Q70 are different class vehicles but I would suspect possibly closer than one might think as a direct comparison. I didn’t really need the L model of the Q70 but equipment, performance, handling wise the value was there.
No comparison with the Alfa Giulia?? I drove this Q50 variant and bought the Alfa. It may be a 2 liter 4, but has comparable power (280 hp / 306 Ft-Lbs) and performance. Also it drives and steers better than the Q50 in my opinion.
Is this the last model year for this one? I want to see a new interior, but I do like the current exterior style, hopefully Infiniti doesn't go too crazy with the new design.
Anyone notice loud tire noise from the run flats they are brand new and basically howl at above 25 and up I took it in and they said it sounds fine ti them
Exactly. Lexus went for the timeless elegance, it never felt particularily flashy or modern. But the quality is simply outstanding, Infiniti still has a lot to learn.
If you haven't traded yet you can get way more for your Corolla with the market in COVID. Laugh at their faces if they are giving you that, that's insultingly low these days
It seems that the Q50 3.0 is only about $2500 more than the 2.0. Thats just silly. I realize that Infiniti does this on purpose to push people away from the 2.0t to the 3.0t; but at this price why would anyone buy the 2.0T ? Also, keep in mind that BOTH (AWD) models are the same weight at a hefty 3800 pounds, and BOTH get the same MPG's (28 mpg/hwy).
Problem when they have this kind of option setup is that the lots will have more of the base engine models, which means you can get more discounts. That $2500 can easily morph into $5000 when you consider the discounts available for the base configuration.
That would make sense in theory, but I have found quite the opposite to be true at the Infiniti dealers that I have been to. Almost no base engine models available at all, numerous 3.0 models, and all AWD. The RWD models dont exist here in the Northeast Infiniti dealers. Again, the 3800 pound curb weight with the 2.0 engine seemed to be somewhat of an issue when accelerating from a full stop. No issue whatsoever with the 3.0 engine of course. The same 2.0 engine in the Mercedes CLA AWD seemed a little less "challenged" with a curb weight of 3400 pounds, and a dual clutch auto.
Only a weak individual would write something like that without at least one factual example. Back in the days, may sales manager referred to people like that as WPOS (phonetically whoopos) which stand for weak pieces of shit.
Run flat tyres is a disgrace for any luxury brand and for Infiniti this ain't an exception. That's a deal breaker for me especially because if i take the car on a long road trip, I'm ain't gonna be dictated to reduce my driving speed because of a stupid a run flat tyres in the event I get a puncture.
More on the new Volvos please! XC40 XC60 and the sedans as well. I know you did the T8 XC60 but I'm wondering about the XC40 and non hybrid versions of the XC60. Especially interested in your take on the ride quality and cabin noise on them.
I'm torn. Part of me wants to step up to a Q50 next year when the lease on my Avalon is up. Part of me says "Nahhh Don't do it. Think with your head. You don't need to make that jump. Stick with Toyota."
If you want a premium brand and customer service - do not buy Infiniti. My rotors rotted out in less than 35,000km or 20,000 miles on my 3.0 tt. In Canada at least, customer service is terrible. I'm going back to BMW
Are you kidding me the power is the reason the RS had a better 0-60, I own a q50 and yeah the tires that come on it are terrible but they are not slowing the car down a whole second. My premium can do a 4.7 with my tune at the most powerful map, still on stock tires. Also the RS much much bigger brakes it has is the reason it stops better. I don’t get how you compare this to a 330i when that is a 4 cylinder makes 225 hp and not compare it to the 340i that is a 6 cylinder that makes 320 hp. Sure the q50 price is more comparable to the 330i but that because you are comparing Japanese engineering to German that is like comparing a Porsche and a Corolla 2 complete different classes. Not saying your video is bad but I would expect better information so people who come here to make a decision on what they are gonna get know what they are actually getting.
Hey Alex great review. How is the ride and handling on the 3.0t luxe awd NON sport model? Would it be less firm and better than the B minus grade you gave this 3.0 sport model review??Smooth ride is important to me. Thank you.
Review sucked, drove it worst than other reviews and a hell of a lot slower too, normally they do 12.9 at the 1/4 and 4.9 to 60 in a (300) version the RS is by far much more faster..

This car is like greased lightning !
How long did it get used to where the E brake is? That’s the one thing I don’t really like about the Q50. I’m between this and a Lexus IS350
@@kylerollins6483 tlx

Picking one up today thanks to Alex's great reviews.
How's your fuel mileage?
I just purchased the 2018 Infiniti Q50 Sport 3.0T and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT 😍 ❤️
Alicia Holsey how much?
Thien Tran I’ve seen some for 19k
I’ve got one booked, picking it up in two days can’t wait! What colour did you get?
Just bought an 18 with 15k on it in April of 2020. Amazing car!
does it turn heads on the road,

If Infinity does update the interior then they MUST bring their clock back to all of their dashboards. I totally agree!

Hi. How is it doing a couple of years later?
I'm also evaluating a 2017 Q50 RS and would like to know if you recommend it.
Still running like a champ and a blast to drive! Just take care of it and it will take care of you. I use Pennzoil full synthetic and Wix XP filters.
I had this for 2 days as a loaner. Omg. It’s incredible. I even humbled a Porsche (not a race or anything, just shook him off). The trans is one of the best I’ve ever driven. I only wished the Q70 had the same engine. Could do with the larger size.
The trans is the weak spot. . . .
2019 here, LOVE THIS CAR!

Wow. That was an elite presentation. Thank you very much for that summary of information. Clear and concise.
We need more reviews of the Q50 please!!
More Q50 Reviews Please?!?
Hi Alex,
thanks for another great review. Did you just said the back seat is good enough for a 6"5 person? Dam you that tall?
best consumer reviews
Merry Christmas Alex.
Q50 I have!!! Always and forever an infinity woman!!! Yes!!!
Another q50 review!? Alright alright! I will buy it
IS, G70, 3 Series and Giulia are seriously good competitors too.
great review, I too wish they would of kept the older 3.7 engine sound but it still sounds nice.
15 minute Video was just right, 30 minutes is a bit to long for me thanks.
Excellent Review. Very well done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Excellent review and thorough!
This fucken guy will off the road. Focus man.
A4 does not start as FWD. It is designed to be AWD from the beginning.

If u got a q50 brotha u ain’t a loser
Don’t know if I should get a 2015 q50 3.7 , 2016 q50 red sport or the 2018 silver sport :/ looking for reliability / long term use with light modding
3.7
You choose , more power from low end or more power from top end(3.7) .
Nice but when you say more fun than any other 4-cylinder offering in the segment I don't think it is better than the Giulia 2.0Ti
they’re pretty much equal 0-60
Merry Christmas Alex!!!
I wonder how many owners willl be praising the 3.0TT after the Turbos fail....OUT OF WARRANTY........ Remember Gadgets is German for. Credit Card number please!! Having had a A6 (X2). Is this the last model year for this one? I want to see a new interior, but I do like the current exterior style, hopefully Infiniti doesn't go too crazy with the new design.
They are holding on to these until the death of Infiniti.
Even after, who knows? Maybe they'll continue selling them as "Skyline" under Nissan like they are called in Japan
A very good review, I'm interested in Infiniti Q50 Sport, but I ca not afford a new one.
GREAT presentation .
Alex on Autos I have Infiniti q50 3.0t luxe I like the car, runs good. I bought it July 25, 2018.
I love the car also feels like space ship
DVD player don't work how can I watch net flix
Anyone notice loud tire noise from the run flats they are brand new and basically howl at above 25 and up I took it in and they said it sounds fine ti them
whose here in 2020?
Did you not just compare to the Kia Stinger GT? Explain “Aeging interior design “ of the Lexus IS.
Exactly. Lexus went for the timeless elegance, it never felt particularily flashy or modern. But the quality is simply outstanding, Infiniti still has a lot to learn.
Wasn’t there a 350 hp 3.0L TT V6 last year?
The Car Crazy Guy Negative only a 300/400 hp versions, also a hybrid version that's about 340-360 but that's a 3.5l engine.
Yes yellow sports 350
....WELL AFTER THIS...I REALYZE I JUST NEEDED AN F150 CREW CAB...;;--)),,,,,,,,,LOL.........
No LSD option on the Q50 rwd? Weird. But that's why you test the coupe instead.
The coupe (Q60) doesn't have it either
is 38000$ cad for q50 signature 2018 a good price? with 4000$ trade 2010 corrolla
Sam Lam yes
If you haven't traded yet you can get way more for your Corolla with the market in COVID. Laugh at their faces if they are giving you that, that's insultingly low these days
I was going to get a Chevy ss but changed my mind after I drove the q50s 3.0t, could’ve got a red sport but the 3.0t is fast enough 😉
I know I got really impress with the regular 3.0 turbo power
Does it really keep up with the Red sport ?
I know hindsight is 20/20, but you would've been sitting on a gold mine had you got the SS.
Just buy the tune kit. Then you have a Redsport. Engine nearly identical.
About time Alex.
It seems that the Q50 3.0 is only about $2500 more than the 2.0. Thats just silly. I'm sure I have seen this video before...anyway Merry Christmas Alex.
Alex rushed the first version out. There were some typos and some mis-information. He must not have eaten his Wheaties that morning. :)
Only a weak individual would write something like that without at least one factual example. Back in the days, may sales manager referred to people like that as WPOS (phonetically whoopos) which stand for weak pieces of shit.

my mom has this car but in 4 years it’s gunna be mine 😝

Wasn’t this video already posted a few days ago?
There was some swapped pricing and feature info (wrong car) in the original version. Fixed in this one.
I think there were some spellchecks/editing done on the info toward the end. Great review nonetheless.
I believe the previous had information about the Chevy Bolt when the pricing and options were being discussed.
I'm torn. Part of me wants to step up to a Q50 next year when the lease on my Avalon is up. Part of me says "Nahhh Don't do it. Think with your head. You don't need to make that jump. Stick with Toyota."
Spectre2300 DO NOT GET THIS CAR BRO
chocolatewheelchair why?
So split difference and front seat driver side score is 8.5/10?🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fake engine sounds still? No Android Auto? How come the other review has it?
If you can get a 335i and q50 3.0t at same price. Which would you pick
depends on how they are equipped. I went Redsport 400 vs a loaded up 335 and love it.
Definitely the Q50
Me encanta pero lo prefiero en blanco como el que tengo o red

ANOTHER Q50 VIDEO??
Why would anyone buy the larger engine option and give 2 shits about mpg? Lol
It will put run bmw 330 easy much quicker of the line
Q50 2019 review please.....
Same since 2014
2016 here. car zooms lol
If only they would come on manual transmission too 🙁
Even fewer people would buy those.
Hi
If you want a premium brand and customer service - do not buy Infiniti. My rotors rotted out in less than 35,000km or 20,000 miles on my 3.0 tt. In Canada at least, customer service is terrible. I'm going back to BMW
Jeff inToronto rather have rotors rot then engine or electric issues ! Have fun at the shop every other month with ur bmw !
I find it funny that you complain about a reliability issue with the infinty yet think it would be any better to go back to bmw.
BMW has horrible reliability and they are expensive asf to maintain.
Rotor replacement takes 1 hour in your garage if you take a break halfway thru lol.
Are you kidding me the power is the reason the RS had a better 0-60, I own a q50 and yeah the tires that come on it are terrible but they are not slowing the car down a whole second. Hey Alex great review. How is the ride and handling on the 3.0t luxe awd NON sport model? Would it be less firm and better than the B minus grade you gave this 3.0 sport model review??Smooth ride is important to me. Thank you.

Kia Stinger all the way
KIA......LOL! Nice car but the brand is LOL.
To each their own ;)
Kia is nice but cost more so with the extrs money spending on the stinger you could add that to the q50...all perference.
Kia sounds more of a moms vehicle lol
