For some in very specific situations they can be beneficial. In some they cause a reflex spasm due to the nature of a static stretch vs an intermittent one for example, when using a decompression table.
My shoulder clicks allot when doing slow movements , i can do hangs , pull ups , not for too long i don't like this strained feelings i. sometimes get in my arms., mostly fear doing it longer would hurt more, my chest and shoulder have since my bought of shingles, i had 4-5 years ago. All the claims i hear , by now i only hoped that it will improve but, i question that now, because it has not gotten better, yet. what can you share?
@@drjonsaunders thank you so much for replying 🥺 I've been experiencing balance issues from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep ,feel like falling down or walking on air sometimes, nausea, whole room seems to move on closing my eyes , treadmill is worst nightmare, can't even go on a walk since 7 months.CT is normal and eyes are fine too have done exercises for vertigo but didn't help. I do have bad posture but it's from like years and never had any issue before I'm 19 years old btw. Can you suggest me something I don't know what to do everyone says that it's all In my head but ignoring it is not helping 😞
I'm 70 female with no arm strength. So I started by putting my fingertips over my bedroom door frame just to stretch. Then i installed a grab bar in my garage and I let my body weight hang down but i can't take my feet off the floor. it feels really good and i'll keep doing this but i wonder if lifting weights would give me more strength to actually hang.

Just don't do like I did and use an inversion table at its' maximum "angle" - man oh man did I have a reckoning the next morning! lol just like someone said "everything in moderation"....

Every time I hang like that, it feels so amazing!
Yes!
Many thanks for the excellent instructions
You are welcome!
I'm definitely going to try this at the gym today
Great!
Thank you! Going to do this.
Wonderful!
This feels great! what is the maximum amount of hang time you recommend?
Usually work up to one minute for 3-6 sets.
Sir this also help in disc Bulge and anterolistheis?
It may help with a disc bulge but likely not the anterolisthesis. Best wishes.
Whar are your thoughts on inversion table?
For some in very specific situations they can be beneficial. In some they cause a reflex spasm due to the nature of a static stretch vs an intermittent one for example, when using a decompression table.
Will this exercise help with my Osteoporosis?
Not really, weight bearing exercises under the guidance of your doctor is best for osteoporosis. Best wishes.
Just to clarify, we work up to 6 reps per day at 1 minute each... so 6 minutes of dead hang daily? Thanks for the video.
You got it!
Great ! 😅

It's really hard to say without examining you. Sorry. :( Please ask your health care provider.
@@drjonsaunders you asked us to ask questions?
Can bad posture cause balance issues and dizziness sometimes?
In some, yes.

Good for you! Yes, weight training can help with your grip strength.
@@curiouscat3384 I think she wanted to know if hanging might help improve her strength, if not hers my question?
I read some people say 'dead hanging' is bad for you...and that you should engage your scapula, is that false then?
That would be an "active" hang...both are good for different things. Best wishes.
Je ne peux pas faire cette position , trop de vertige a chaque fois . Bonne journée
