What a wonderful and innovative performance! I see he is using a baroque bow. For me, this performance stands right up there with historic performances by Grumiaux, Milstein, and Szeryng. But Hadelich’s performance moves the needle forward and tells us something new (or reminds us how this piece ought to be played.). Bravo!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hadelich has a wonderful interpretation. Bach is to large to have an interpretation that ought to be ! You are right to name Szeryng, Grumiaux and Milstein as great interpretations.
Dear Maestro, when I listen to you, I don't hear just right notes, perfect intonation and great sound. I perceive and see a huge study below, and a perfect awareness of what you are playing. In one word: I hear a real Musician. Thank you
Having listened to the BWV 1001-1006 numerous times in my life I don't remember whoever else was able to give the polyphony lines in this fuge each a distinct character, and have them articulate into one integrated whole on a violin. Love the open and free form of interpretation. I was deeply, deeply moved by the emotional charge it carries as well. Hadelich apparently possesses the rarest gift straight from the high above.
Augustin Hadelich, new Heir to the throne previously held by Maestro Perlman. Such concentration, such FEELING, such PASSION! God bless you Augustin!!! 🙏🏼
I really love this performance, especially the beginning. I love how the phrasing is so unique and you manage to make the bow look so light and off the string while keeping control of it.
J'essaye de retrouver par terre ma mâchoire qui vient de se décrocher. Avec la musique de Bach, je me demande toujours comment on n'est pas saisi d'un vertige qui vous empêche de jouer. Fin de séquence hyperbolique.
Apart from Paganini's Caprice 4 and Sonata No. 2 -- Grave (both of which I'm positive Hadelich could play flawlessly as well), Sonata No. 1 -- Fuga Allegro is the most mesmerizingly beautiful song I've ever heard. And this performance imbues it with another layer of radiance that I doubt any other violinist could bring to the piece. Well done!
It’s pretty pointless to comment that he sounds good because of course he does. It’s so redundant. But this is too good to not comment. Beautifully played
Absolutely stunning. I could not tear myself away even if I tried! The pace of the piece ties very well in with your phrasing and the acoustics of your living room actually add quite a bit of warmth to your sound. Not to mention, your technicality makes this piece seem so much easier than it actually is.
Augustin's elbow position is something I've been studying and trying to replicate this entire time. It's just very in position and the intonation is very rewarding!
His whole posture seems quite forceful and unnatural, like the kind of thing I would get in trouble if I replicated it on my classes lol. But as you said, it seems to be rewarding his sound in a very unique way.
@@bobafetteste I would actually have to agree. He elevates the shoulder quite a bit so the bow just barely scratches the surface. But it seems to work for him because the tone is just very natural and beautiful.
OMG...to hear this in Vail...and watch the faces of the blue bloods to see how many lose their composure. 🤯 Some may be more difficult but this is one of the most beautiful pieces you've ever played. Auggie, you are officially my #1 musical crush.
I think Hadelich is the master of making difficult pieces look so easy! What a stunning performance.
you can hear every voice so perfectly here. genius

He is just....amazing.
This is not much different if hes still playing modern way

If you like this performance - you will definitely like Lana Trotovsek's performance
God Bless You Augustin Hadelich for letting God and Bach Speak through your Violin.
Questo è il "respiro dell' infinito" e il naufragar m'è dolce, in questo mare ...Dio la benedica ❤
This fuge is really difficult, but Mr. Hadelich plays it seamlessly. Bravo!
lol fuge
It’s fuga lolll
@@feathercheng4250 fuge is the german word and Bach was
German so fuge seems accurat to me

Bellissimo! bellissimo! bellissimo !❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So much Bach. I hope you know how good it is to listen to. I'm very grateful.
it's a great honor to listen to this
Incredible! Bravo Bach! Bravo Hadelich!! ❤️🎻🎼🎵🎶👏☘️🇮🇪
Imagine if Bach could hear his amazing work! Divine.
In fact I can.
He is a true master of the violin whom I would rate among the great violinists of today!
Everything sounds deceivingly light and easy (+ bonus structural analysis). Thank you for sharing! 🌻

Try hilary hahn's version
@@gabozalaba Might be just me, but I find Hahn's recordings to be quite cold and mechanical.
Daniel Knapp me too! I don’t like her so much! She’s really good but I prefer this version
Ich sehe das auch so, Perlmann war für mich bisher das Nonplusultra, aber Hadelich hat einen schlankeren Ton, ohne weniger expressiv zu sein.
@Sherlock Holmes I respectfully disagree with you Hilary haters
Thank you Augustin I listen to your music everyday now since my first time went to your concert in hk 2019
Sounds so amazingly refreshing! He’s bowing is so effortless.
The intensity of his performance is incredible. Period!
Performance bests them all including Grumiaux!
Today it was exactly 1 year ago that he posted this, wow time flies
What fresh life you breathe into this fugue. Thank you for your supreme artistry!
Thanks for posting this pure magic Augustin, your brilliant music gives us all the hope we need 🙏
He passes the feeling this is so easy. Such a truly virtuoso and artist!
Hadelich is the best violinist to ever walk this planet (might spark controversy but this is just my opinion)
Just wondering, why do think that it’s him over Paganini, Heifetz, and Roman Kim? Not trying to argue here, though
I really love this performance, especially the beginning. I love how the phrasing is so unique and you manage to make the bow look so light and off the string while keeping control of it.
pure perfection Mr Hadelich
Originale questo tuo pensiero sul Cantor , bravissimo!!!!! .
Such clArity
It’s amazing how much he can style it.
That was really beautifully done! Your playing is so pure and angelic! Even with the Fugue! 🧸🎻😊
Truly magnificent!
Magnifico! Senza parole!
Wow...! That's amazing skill there...!
Easily one of my favorite interpretations of this piece. I have been listening to it repeatedly on FB. So glad it's been uploaded here.
Mr. Hadelich, if you comes to Brazil someday, please let us know. Will be a pleasure to watch your performance. Thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing these videos! They really brighten my days. ⭐️
Thank you so much for sharing your video everyday! This inspires me a lot and let me play my Bach during this difficult self-quarantine period.
Among many great violinists you shine like a diamond Sir.
Just beautiful. Bravo!!
Wow!This is clean and light and the tempo chosen is on point ...my favorite interpretation!
Amazing !

Thank you Augustin. Inspiring. All notes in the mind.
Absolutely incredible performance. He looks completely under the spell of that instrument like he’s letting the music take control.

You ROCK that baroque bow.
OMG beautiful! I am so glad I can hear such music from such a musician! Fantastic!
This is one of my favorite pieces that you played. Thank you for posting it, Augustin. 🙂
He's the best around. His solo Bach is an absolute revelation.
Lindo!
Perfeito!!!
Bravo!!!!🇧🇷👏❤❤❤
This is good such good style
Parabéns 🎉 você é o melhor violinista do mundo 🌎
Sou do Brazil.
Augustin, you just made my day.♡
Thanks so much. How majestic and incredible, just what I needed.

Bravo!!!
Such elegance and energy a masterpiece indeed! Superbly played! 👏
Belíssimo violinista !
Simplesmente excepcional!
Great playing, Augustin! I'm really impressed by how fluid your performance is.
MAGNIFIQUE ! MERCI !
This is the best I’ve seen since Grumiaux. No overuse of rubato to get the chords. It moves. I don’t want to hear the momentum stop.
Bellissimo!!!
Augustin Hadelich is so dope.

Bravissimo, Augustin! I dare say, that violin is used to a somewhat slower tempo considering the recordings made on it!!
Szeryng was way too slow. Miss you, Paul!
Bravo Augustin 🎻🇧🇷👏👏👏
Wow!!! Is that a practice??!!😱😱😱 you really are the best!!!!🥰🥰🇨🇴🇨🇴
Maestro!
Maravilhoso violino
Genius!!!👏👏👏
essa é a melhor interpretação que eu ja ouvi
I STRIVE TO BE YOU
Thank you. Lovely. Great way to start my AM in 🇨🇦
perfect tempo, most other people play it too slow IMO. Each fugue motif is heard clearly as well, Bravo!
Shawn Zhu I know, the clarity of each reiterated motif blew me away
Way too fast for me
Awesome!!!!! Bravo!
this performance makes me see this fugue in a different light
Maravilloso!! Bravo
This is definitely my new favourite interpretation of Bach's G minor fugue. I especially like how you kept the momentum going at 1:49!
P.S. I hope the pandemic plays out before Summer starts.. Seeing you in Vail is one of my favorite parts of summer vacation.
Absoloutely beautiful
