I just would like to take the opportunity to thank you Maestro Hadelich. In this time of isolation and restrictions for CoViD19 your "practice" from home is a greater joy than it would be in normal times. I believe it will be impossible to see you in Sydney this year, but i definitely hope to have the opportunity in the future
The best interpretation, in my opinion. He has great sound, and the way Austing treats the voices in this piece is genius! My favorite violinist right now
Beautifully played. The bow was interesting. he is my favorite violinist. Heard him several times, but having him here on the computer is so wonderful. Thank you.
I am melting with the unbelievable beauty and meaningfulness of this, just hanging on every stunningly gorgeous note, perfect to calm us during this surreal time. Thank you sooo much!!! I like this calmer version the best of the two, although both versions are so touching and centering! Your playing of Bach brings a touch of heaven to earth which we need right now!! 'Hadelich plays Bach' is the perfect combination of composer and interpreter for these times! I am actually grateful you waited until now to practice (and hopefully soon record??) these - there could not be a better time for it!
Love the bow! Do you feel that your have to weight the chords differently? Also, do you roll them differently with this bow? (This piece I've actually played :)) Your musical phrases are very well planned out and executed so organically.
Ha. I don't know if I even feel something right now. I listened to both a few times, and the faster one is very soothing. I'm partial to this one, though. It leaves me agitated, awake. Aware of the music. Focus is indeed needed to follow. But after I really listened to it I felt as if I was sitting with someone who is completely silent. We would be in a magnificent space. As if the beauty of this imagined scenery was the focus for everyone else who had ever come upon this scene, but I only want to know what my companion is. What he is thinking. I want badly to communicate. But I sit, in complete silence. It's a strange thought. The image stays, after the music ends. Only in this tempo, though. Does it feel like something concrete to play it?
That sounded amazing! You made me want to go practice too! Just not yet though because my evil crazy fake family seriously won’t stop nagging, berating and accusing me and coming up with more chores for me to do.
Va a ser muy buen violinista. no es usual Bach en violin. pero muy bien precioso el adagio, cuando no se mueva ranto se le va a ver mas elegante. Gracias
One question: third measure (0:31"): E flat or E natural? In the manuscript it is written natural, but usually everyone (including you) plays E flat...
There are some musicians who advocate for E natural but it’s the subject of fierce debates! Compare with the recapitulation (bar 16) where it is A flat. It must be E flat in bar 3, the two basslines are the same (just transposed) in the exposition and recap. E natural sounds too much like Hindemith, it would not be part of Bach’s vocabulary. Also it’s E flat during the first beat in a higher octave.

He plays very tenderly. A very modern romantic interpretation, one of the better ones in my opinion, great tempo. Thank you Augustin Hadelich.
Love this. Have always wondered if the notion that "authentic" Baroque playing requires the violin to sound harsh is correct.
Am I nuts or is his bowing AMAZING???
both
I love how the vibrato helps it to have more of that ethereal sense, rather than overpower as I have heard in many other recordings.

Practice? this was a world-class performance :))
Bach is so calming and reassuring, especially during these times now. Thank you.
Very beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

That’s a baroque bow
Wow, the mark of a very high level of musicianship to hold together a slower tempo like this... Another stunning rendition.

The greatest strength lies in the calm.
I love the raw sound... so beautiful.
Fantástico seu modo de tocar!!!
Único!!!
The baroque bow for some reason adds a nice touch
For some reason?
For the reason that this piece was written for a lighter, more agile bow.
It's the best performance I've ever heard.
You are great...just.. wonderful
one of my favorite interpretations of this piece
amazing sound! You really make your violin sing

이런 느낌도 좋네요!
i love the idea that you used a barock bow.
Maxime Vengerov also used a barock bow at his performance of sonata no. 1 (and the chaconne)

Recorded 2 days after Bach's 335th birthday.
