I miss playing music with other people!!!
Split Screen is a fun function on iMovie. In case you are wondering, I recorded the piano part first - I played the piano part while imagining singing the violin line. I don't think it could work as well if I'd recorded the violin part first, because all of the timings and nuances in the violin part are a result of what happens harmonically in the piano part.
Two Augustins do make the world a better place in a special way.

Dear Augustin. I discovered your wonderful playing some months ago and watched several videos, then one Sunday afternoon I popped into the Royal Festival Hall to pick up the monthly programme, then there was an announcement, The concert is about to start. What concert? I asked. You were playing the Mendelssohn. 10 minutes later I was sitting waiting for the concert to start, wondering what magical force had made this coincidence happen. Now I'm sitting here writing to you personally. What a pleasure! I hope there's going to be more of these duo videos. Rob, your big fan in London.

I recorded the piano first; it's an electric piano so I could play it back later as I played the violin. Then I mixed the sound of both together so it was the right balance. I imagined the violin part as I was playing the piano part; and when playing the violin part, I followed the timing of the piano part.

@@AugustinHadelichViolin This is what I have always questioned whenever I watch your play. Quite well balanced... So I imagined that violin was played by Augustin, while piano was played by Bugustin.

I was going to suggest that you play with someone you know through live stream (just for the joy of it) but then realised it really isn't the same. The sound usually doesn't come through well. But maybe, if both sides have a really good camera or mic, it could work.
What you said in the description made me think: do you enjoy singing? Thanks to you I'm humming the Vocalise internally and can't stop.
I think most people miss interaction with the people they are used to, that aren't family. I really want to drink coffee with one of my teachers again, I worry if he'll stay healthy through this whole mess. Some people do skype lessons and have a lot of fun. I think human contact is irreplacable.
I resorted to karaoke today. I wonder, did you do multiple takes? When I record something I do it 10000 times until I think it's...optimal, but the first version is sometimes the least thought out and the best.

My guess is that he played the violin part first, and listened to it while playing the piano so he could be in sync.
