"I'm being held back by my teamates"
Flats: *tints anime glasses*
He knew Genji is supposde to go for the backline. Just didn't understand which backline to go for
He took “I peel for my supports” to the max
14:08 Bro stopped typing to walk into the sig flux 😭😂
Moth to a flame
You know those halters you can get for little kids so they can walk by themselves but still be close to their parents, that's what this Genji needs
😂😂😂
Oh, the kid leashes.
the monkey harness with the leash omg
So a Lifeweaver basically? 😂
“Is this Genji-76, no this is Genjimaker” is the best line 😂
Underrated Flats Quote
Dude was playing Genji like he was playing Ashe
exactly
As an Ashe main, I was thinking yea! these are some pretty good spots to be in!
oh they're genji.
A tip for Sombrero melee to escort ,this is so funny BTW
@mydeyie if I can armchair psych for a bit, here's the problem with this player.
1. Too panicky to play up close. They refuse to go in as Genji because it's high risk, and cannot effectively navigate that risk and survive.
2. They resort to poke because of the roles relative safety.
3. They do not use heroes that excel in poke because those Champs do require aim. Ashe, Hanzo, Widowmaker, etc. Notice how they do not brag about their aim in their initial post, because it's likely tye weakest part of their skill set.
4. You can somewhat spam (not well) on genji and get value.
Thus, you have a player not playing to their strengths but to cover their weaknesses, which never works.
As someone who mains Ashe I was like, "Bro, this looks like my Genji gameplay."
7:54 I love how winston is over in the backline fighting for his life getting everyone to low hp and he's just there left clicking a static sig shield
That part was so painful to watch as a Winston player.
If the Genji was there it would have been such an easy 2v4 lmao. Sig's shield wasn't even covering anything, the supports were on the other side lmao.
Winton*
Its crazy that someone can stand there and spectate the fight all game and somehow come to the conclusion their team is the problem
He is his own worst enemy.
Flats you don’t get it. The reason this guy wasn’t going in and diving was because his teammates were holding him back by the shoulders
Can't hold someone back when they are behind you
4:20 bro murdered cart with that blade
“I can improve but also my teammates hold me back”
My guy, you’re in bronze. Your teammates are going to suck, you can’t depend on them to win games. You’re the one holding yourself back.
His opponents also suck as much as his team, you just need to be slightly better and cause a little impact to turn the tables for your team
@@Jarubimba exactly. If the guy were actually slightly better, he would be in silver or above, but he's not because he doesn't even know how to play genji properly.
i want to hear what their justification is for playing the way they do with Genji. get them in the video giving us a walk through of their though process. i want to hear the mind of a bronze player lol
Litteraly should be able to 1v5 the whole team in bronze
@@ArcturusAlpha I'm so curious about that too, especially because they actually started playing aggro on Sombra lol. I'm also curious how their teammates let them down because they got hella carried this game.
the worst part is their tank is playing dive like "why is my genji trying to scope in with his shurikens"
It’s bronze I don’t think the tank is thinking
Genji: My teammate are holding me back
Also Genji: im gonna stay in the back
Back in the Backline... XD
@@RatziFatzi Yes, that was the joke
Nah bro, you don't get it. They were physically holding him back there
@@THYnameISsarcasm if hes so Scared...
i would protect him as a Support myself...
but with thhe Agression of 0.5% in the match i dont think he should even be a DPS player... with that Playstyle, he would fit more into the support role...
or he changes a bit of that agression, than he might climb
@@RatziFatzi You must not have seen the new patch notes, your team now has the ability to disable your W key. He's stuck, if he goes past literally anyone on his team then he can't move forward. The devs are crazy for that one
I've noticed lately a lot of players are picking a role not suited for their playstyles. Tanks playing sniper, DPS playing FAR too safely, supports playing over extended (sometimes that's fine, if they can handle the flank pressure, but usually they don't and feed). It just seems like some people need to reconsider their main role choice, or play into their roles strengths/abilities a lot more
tbh, I take this as an underlying problem with 1 tank and how tank feels right now. Before OW2, and even like half of it, I used to queue as All Roles, cuz back then I felt like I was doing stuff as tank, and that even my mistakes didnt necesarilly meant the downfall of my team. But right now, playing tank and being able to do nothing, or just playing walking simulator cuz it BORES me to dead not to try and make play as tank, and get melted in 0. time; not to mention EVERYONE on the team, even the enemy team, throws shit at you for being "bad" (Ive reached Diamond as solo queue, so even tho thats not the epitome, is decent for my liking), I just stopped playing All Roles. At most, just play 3 times tank a day and only queue DPS and Supp afterwards. And the issue there is that, at least with tank, I can play Sigma and annoy with my shield and rock; Rein with firestrikes here and there; Hog just looking thicc; queen when I tryinna play cool. But what if today isnt an aim day? I wont do shiet with dps nor supps. Maybe the team synergy isnt the strongest, and having one less support makes a HUGE impact
Im not tryinna say Im a tank main. Before the existance of Role Queue, I often let all the other players choose, and then I chose the role that was missing. But now imagine the ACTUAL tank mains, that have never touched the other roles enough to understand their playstyle, let alone the difference between each character, that are sick and tired of playing tank
@@AshleyRosemarry I do agree that tank feels very squishy lately, It's like if I look away from my tank for 1 second they just fall over when they were JUST 100% hp.. and they really shouldn't
@@Neytiri94 dude fr, yesterday i had a game where the enemy orisa (dude, an ORISA) just appeared for 3 seconds in front of us during her fortify, she was full hp and she exploded. Granted she didn't get heals, but dude, we killed an orisa during her fortify in less than 5 seconds just because she didn't get heals. Granted too that we had a zenyatta, but still doesn't makes sense that the tankiest tank just died like that lmao
@@Sac-chan yeaaaaah you know something ain’t right when the horse just gets dismantled immediately. Hoping tanks get some form of survivability buff without being TOO dependant on supports cos at this point it’s just heal-botting the tank and they just can’t make plays without trading half the time. Either trading or you’re giving them ALL the supports resources for ONE play it’s nuts
@@AshleyRosemarry i'd argue this isn't a 1 tank thing or really even an issue with balance. I'd argue it's just endemic of hero-based games of all kinds. especially those where different characters play very differently. i came from fighting games and you see the "this guy is playing their character like this other character" phenomenon pretty often. Sometimes you just like a character and don't vibe with their general gameplan. In the case of overwatch, genji is rife with this in lower ranks because he just hyper appeals to certain types of people in a way that no other character does, design wise but also requires a very specific kind of player to be used the "correct" way.
I get that you're probably using this to say that you don't like the current state of the game but if you're branching out from tank, it's 100% reasonable to figure out the game plan of the characters you're switching to when you're playing ranked and decide whether or not you want to run their game plan.
It took me a little to figure out, but I'm pretty sure that the reason why this guy just goes long periods without doing anything on sombra (besides when hes typing) is he seems to think that he either can't or shouldn't ever engage unless the enemy is hacked first. Even when the other team is basically dead or way too far away, he still goes for the hack. Eventually just leading him to straight up doing nothing for 25 straight seconds lmao.
Yeah he prioritizes hack too much and I think is still waiting on hack even when it is interrupted (and therefore on cooldown). Painful to watch
Whew, what a relief at 14:08, they almost didn't make it into that Sigma ult!
trying to hack the friendly moira for a solid two seconds was the cherry on top
Bro is taking playing Genji like he was added to Counter Strike.
13:52 listening to the enemy Illari rapid firing her gun for her life as her health slowly drains was amusing to me.
i love how he dashes to escape and not to do damage. Literally the whole point of genji is his dash for dps
Its his only escape move though if you need to get out quickly
@@strayzzfaxz6740 of course, but this dude NEVER used it for offense lol. As a genji main, his gameplay puts me in pain
If all comes down to situation, but can't be a coward the entire game. Diving is the funniest part of playing with Genji
@@the1noob337he kinda used it for offense at 8:20
@@strayzzfaxz6740the idea of genji is you dash at someone, kill them, get the reset and dash away or to a next target, even tho a lot of times you are actually not gonna start off dashing, using it to finish someone so you get the reset is genjis main point and the 50 dmg from dash is often a huge difference between you getting the kill or not
this guy didn’t use the dash aggressively a single time, he would poke with primary, and as soon as he took any damage 19:03 he would dash away without ever committing to the kills
I used to play like this at the start of OW1.
Something clicked one day, mustve been a sunny summer day, that gave me a massive confidence boost and I started rolling people. Its literally all mental lol
I love how they walk straight into an ult after sitting there typing every time. Also them saying their team keeps holding em back but in this game their team carried them the whole way
the reaper ult only taking out this guy was the best part
As someone who is hard stuck in metal ranks: God I wish I got to fight Genjis that were this scared of my team, instead of diving into my entire team and bursting one person down before getting their teeth kicked in every life.
The other problem with sitting so far back is that you make it harder for yourself to get healed because you are behind your healers. Healers dont have Byakugan, they dont have 360° vision.
6:24 life lesson fr though
if this guy would swap to soldier/ashe/torb/sojourn/hanzo it would fix alot of their issues, however i fail to understand how its taken them this long to figure out genji is not a sniper
I think they are afraid of missing shots on those more "sniper" characters, so they avoid picking them. Idk y they think the right choice is to go genji instead tho. They just need confidence to either go or commit to staying in the back with Hanzo/widow/torn/soj
I would much rather have an overly aggressive dps than a scared one. At least with the aggressive one I can try to help them as tank or support so they get value
With an overly aggressive DPS you can full send alongside them and can call it a loosely coordinated Dive. Really not much you can do with this guy.
true, especially on genji you just get so much more value by having a high ass ego and playing overly aggressive 24/7 compared to playing like that
Mood
"My teammates hold me back."
*Proceeds to hold back teammates*
15:12 BEST ROAST... YOU AND I HAVE THE SAME IMPACT IN THIS GAME!!! 😂
Best part of the game
Fr!! I fucking died when he said that
bro this guy was perfectly playing hanzo, but he chose his brother instead
genji is a dive character, you should not be afraid to die, go in 1v1 everyone in their back line and you will get 100x more value
necros is one of the best genji players, and there’s a reason why his deaths per 10 are high, it’s because if you dont take the risks as genji you won’t do anything
Try to take no damage simulator
Bro that guy needs a reality check
Sniper Genji is interesting.
some advice i have coming from 2000 hours of grinding genji:
1.
you need more map awareness. have a gameplan on how to jump on peoples heads and dash out. find your rotation especially on defense you need to find a good mix between poke and off angling. its how flats said, why are you playing genji if you only poke with left clicks. you are better off with a hitscan playing like that. as a beginner i also struggled on what to do on eichenwalde first point. what you do there is climb over that right building and jump on the furthest backline target, right click 2-3 times then dash out to safety back to your team. thats your pressure there and while skills are on cooldown you poke. (thats why tracer will always be the better genji btw because her cooldown rotation fundamentally applies longer pressure on an offangle)
2.
identify an inting person. it is ILLEGAL for the enemy to hold a deep angle/high ground on your team remember ILLEGAL. your job as genji is to punish that person immediately and force them out to controll space, this is your main priority, punish overextended people or make them overextend. this gets you picks without overextending yourself. if the enemy isnt at least contesting space a slight bit you are most likely already winning and already doing your job effectively just by holding space.
3.
blades are important. use your dash to engage before ult to get in position, and engage from an off angle if you dont have a dive tank. make sure your tank or team forces cooldowns first to eliminate the threats to your ult (suzu, dashes etc..) you can also force it yourself by dashing into an illari first to force her boop, then open blade to dash back to her for free pick. always know your win condition for that first pick since getting an elim and living after it should win you the fight. and MOST IMPORTANTLY always know who you gonna open your blade on. your first target priority is key for successful blades. priority targets are immobile heroes like hanzo, soldier, ana etc.. also combo your ult with people. you dont wanna be the first one to engage with a naked blade and die without follow up, so i rather wait for my team to engage first. this works wonders.
overwatch is not a one dimensional game and you always have to adapt to the situation, map and team comp so not every rule is set in stone. this is just your ideal gameplan. obviously you will have to make plays in certain situations that do not favor you but sometimes you just gotta have to press q and give it a go.
To much yapping man
Please touch grass
great advice, tbh as a lower rank genji i would also say that in the metal ranks (idk if diamond counts but im talking plat and below) people just dont turn around peeling for you back line isn’t a thing is those ranks so you can get so much value by mindless jumping and 1v1’ing the furthest back enemy, because for them to be playing in the back its probably a sniper/support so its someone you will be able to kill them easily especially because they cant aim and think you desapear if you jump above their head
As a genji 1 trick with 2500 hours, i aint reading allat
@@sbravati.I barley ever play ranked or any ow anymore but if only my games were like that when I go anywhere near the backline the entire team is on my ass in a nano second but then when I’m the backline I’m basically a ghost to my team so it’s just back and forth and random
Flats nailed that ego thing so hard, great insight. That's like one of my biggest social pet peeves.
There is a difference between "Poking as Genji" and "I'm playing Three Round Burst, Tiny Damage Hanzo"
“Why are you spectating? Dude you and I are having the same amount of impact on the game right now” that’s hilarious im gonna use that
I noticed a lot of lobbies in overwatch where people blame each other for a variety of reasons when honestly lots of people just friggin stink at the damn game lmfao
i think their other main problem is when they are close range they can't keep track of targets
Gotta hand it to him. This is certainly a unique Genji style.
These are the genjis i get on my team, while the enemy chad genji is flanking 2 spots at once killing the back line
Damn I didn’t realize flats found a video of me playing genji (this ain’t me tho)
i have zero tolerance for this, I would've given it 2 mins and said "Sorry Brother" and went to the next submission lmao.
This just makes me realise how lunatic I am with my own pushes
You know what I really want flats to do? I want flats to react to the ones he already has reacted to and see how far they have come.
love the video! would love more!
This has to be one of the best episodes.
14:45 LIP would be proud, his influence on sombra players around the world is still being felt today
"ItS mY tEaMmAtEs FaUlT i SuCk" bro you awful it isn't your team
Masters Genji player here and I love how the very first thing I said was "He could be taking a more aggressive position." Like in the first fight at choke he should've been where his Ash was, and this persisted for the rest of the game.
I also play Sombra...I didnt think it could get worse... This person honestly needs to pick up Widow, Ashe/Cree. They can't play a Flank like that.
>Bronze Player complains they shouldn't be in Bronze
>Showcases why they're in Bronze
Love these videos
15:29 Sombra's body lmao
this level of delusion is scary, bro did literally nothing the whole match
Bro is in the wrong back line
I refuse to believe this is real.
This guy watches his team die for 80% of the game but says they are the ones holding him back…
That time he didn’t shoot and actually reloaded I was like “WTF is he reloading!?”
my genji gaming is the opposite of this lmao, i be dying 30 times
This is the first time I've witnessed a kinder Flats.
I would get bored waiting to go in, eventually decide to go in when I shouldn't and insta die
Flats - “Oh nahhh have you been watching me play gengi “ 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Bruh I had a genji just like this yesterday. We were running lucio and I was orisa. We rushed their team when there was 3 that were low with no tank, my genji was behind the entire team staring. Then blamed us for feeding...bruh
This was a treat
i bet he thought he did a 180° but instead did a 90° and is confused as to where the enemy team went. 3:56
Ah yes, the "Teammates are fault" incedent
This guy definitely locked the wrong Shimada brother
This reminds me of necros left click only to gm except for the part where he dashes in and gets kills
That genji and that reaper is the most example of being in bronze when play tank or support
I believe it was stylosa who said its better to be aggressive and learn to dial it back
Genji is the dps with the sword, plays only ranged.
Bro playing terrified
Dude was horrified to play genji how you are supposed to
hello flats do you have any advice for some new genji players?
the hack isn't even what canceled the sig ult and killed him, it was the sleep
The duality of watching eemong and flats lol
Genji playing further back than a Zenyatta. That's a first.
that genji playing like a cassidy
He really needs to switch dps characters if he wants to just sit in his own back line the whole time. Play Widow or Ashe then. The guy plays further back than his supports most of the time.
Not done with the video yet, but insecurity about something really is one of the greatest things that can hold players back.
At first when I got into my first diamond lobbies I was like "oh shit it's fucking diamonds, they will cook me", eventually I was just thinking "meh, they're like 100 SR higher than me, that's like nothing bruh" and then they just all felt the same.
Same thing happened to masters and eventually GM/t500 lobbies.
Sure, there are still other things that hold players back, but insecurity was a big reason for me at some point. I remember there was this one person who I didn't like and heard they were X rank in OW which was higher than my current rank. I was like "pfff, if he can do it, I can too!"
And well.. I guess it somewhat worked in the end!
This going to be amazing
I never thought I would see genji gameplay worse than mine
The lowest rank I ever was indeed silver but last season I hit gold as tank
Flats you don’t understand, they have the Junkrat skin. They thought they were playing Junkrat.
if you’re hardstuck bronze dps for this many seasons maybe it’s time to branch out to other roles LMAO
this Genji looks like they would be interesting to bubble
I as a hard stuck bronze DPS because I have a complete lack of mechanical skill run into so many games where if the enemy team had confidence we would have been rolled but they continue to give up more and more space and its genuinely confusing.
If flats coached linemen in highschool football or smthn, he’d make a squad of DAWGS
Been watching Flats and Emongg forever. Pretty much been in silver since season 11 of overwatch 1. I finally hit plat 5 in support on a 9 game win streak.
Earliest I’ve been to a flats video (12 seconds at the time of clicking the video).
Must’ve thought he queued mystery heroes and wanted to get every ult
I don't understand why he doesn't just play a long range hitscan if he's nust going to chill back. Honestly that would probably be enough to win in bronze as long as you can aim even a little
Honestly, before I started maining hanzo, I was this genji. Terrified to piss off my team, not going for plays at all cause I didn't wanna look stupid, all of it. Once I realized I could actually play smart AND use play styles to my advantage, it got sooo much better for me
11:43 how did bro get a video of my Sombra gameplay
Bro needs a PRN to play Overwatch with all that anxiety going on
8:40 he could've killed the Mercy with a dash but he's scared to dash forward
he didn't even do the genji wall climb xD
5:11 ngl Flats have a good point about playing DPS, well and I guess same with Tank and Support in a different way🤷🏼♂️
never thought i would see a genji trying to snipe players
What true ptsd from getting yelled at in games looks like
how can i focus with this pokemon collosseum ost in the back?
I don't think they know the dash does dmg and resets on kills...
