  • I've played Gran Turismo 2 for many years and plenty of times to know most of the prize cars and events like the back of my hand. With that said, how easy can it be to playthrough knowing those things? Well, I'm going to show you just that by getting 2 epic prize cars in just 2 races, which ensure me beating the rest of the game.
    This video involves me repeating things from my Easy Money Tips video for GT2, which I'm linking here: • Gran Turismo 2: Easy M...
    I also have a best starter cars video for the US Version of GT2, mainly referring to Version 1.1. • Gran Turismo 2 - The B...
    Songs Used:
    1. Isamu Ohira - Windroad (beginning of it)
    2. Isamu Ohira - Poker Face
    3. In-game music was used for most of the video of course. The other 2 songs are just the introduction and conclusion.

      EDIT: and I just realized now that the comment I replied to is talking about the MR challenge versus the GT all stars.
      With that said, it's actually GT All Stars that's the best farming spot. For winning the 500k TVR Speed 12.

    To note: I'm aware of alternate methods to easily get ahead in GT2, but this is my preferred way of doing it. Like for instance, doing the Trial Mountain Endurance first would take longer than just doing these events and I really dread doing endurance events. So, I tend to put them off until doing the other races first in any of my Gran Turismo game playthroughs.
    Also, I just noticed that my video is exactly 8 minutes long.

    I find that GT2 is pretty easy to play through if only thanks to the incredibly generous horsepower limits, the AI rarely drives anything even close to the limit, usually it's around 70% of what power you're allowed to have in your car, plus there are corners on most tracks that the AI takes way too slowly. Also there are tons of races netting you incredibly valuable prize cars so after the first few races (unless you decide to start with the national races) you shouldn't ever have financial issues again (at least until you have to do all the manufacturer races and spend millions on race mods). The one thing that's nearly impossible however (and which I've still not achieved after 22 years) is 100%ing the game because of the gold licenses. Bronze is easy to get, silver takes a little more skill, but gold licenses are the Dark Souls of racing games.

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  2 года назад

      It pretty much is one of the easiest GT titles to play through due to all of that and to note: you actually don't need to gold the license tests to 100% the game. You just need to complete them, getting those prize cars are just a bonus option for people skilled and patient enough to get them all done.

    Funny how many used to do this method to go faster in this mode. I sold many TVRs until I could have enough for the Escudo lol. What would be really a challenge, is to go through this mode with cars that actually met the requirements of the race. That will be a head to head with the AI, that most of the time is broken and is really hard.

    • @RandomCarGuy17

      I actually rarely did that for the Escudo. I honestly just did a lot of races with the JGTC cars you win like the Unisia Jecs R33. I mean, the Escudo was probably better, but I enjoyed my JGTC Skyline.

    Hey, I have a couple of questions. They may not seem relevant at first but they will come full circle back to the contents of this video, I promise.
    - I just got pez2k's GT2 Plus mod, I just need to get a new PS4 controller so I can play it properly. Do you think he would be OK with me let's playing his mod? I'm not a big channel by any means (I only have 30 subscribers) and my upload schedule is very inconsistent but if you can find a way for me to contact him and ask directly I would greatly appreciate it as I would love to play the mod and record/upload my reactions for everyone to see. Also it would be my first time playing the PAL version of GT2 as well so I think it would be fun.
    - What are the GameShark codes you used for the licenses? I find licenses to be tedious and I've done them every time I've replayed this game since my first time playing it in 2005 when I was 6 years old so if I do decide to let's play the mod I'd (understandably) just want to get into the beefy contents of the game quickly so I can encounter the extra content faster. Also can you save after using GS codes? (If not I can save state, it's not a big deal. I just prefer to memory card save)
    - Full circle: If I let's play the mod, can I do what you did in this video as a starter?
    Thank you for all the awesome GT2 content. Keep it up, bro.

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  5 лет назад

      As far as I know, he's completely okay with showing gameplay footage of his mod, as long as it's a mod he released to the public like what I gave a link to. However, I have just asked him myself. You could join GTPlanet and ask him on there, just remember to follow the rules on the site. There's also discord, it's where I talk to him along with other people.
      I would give you the codes for the license tests, but I'm pretty sure they don't work on the PAL release. You see, I was playing on the Greatest Hits, NTSC version of GT2 in this video. GT2 Plus runs on the PAL release of GT2, so the NTSC codes wouldn't work. There's pal gameshark codes, but I've tried them myself and they don't seem to work well. They only golded one test from each license.

    • @caifabe8050
      @caifabe8050 5 лет назад

      @@RandomCarGuy17 Hmm, that's odd that the codes only golded one test from each license.
      You didn't use any license prize cars in this video so I assume that this method of "I'm gonna win the game from the start" works without golding all the licenses, right? If so, is there at least a GS code that will just give me all the licenses without golding them all?

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  5 лет назад

      @@caifabe8050 As I said, the cheats in fact work for the version I'm playing in this video (NTSC Version 1.2/Greatest Hits Version). The codes just don't work aswell for the PAL version (which is what you're playing). Different regions require different GS cheats to work. I mean, I can test the PAL GS cheats again, and I will actually. However, I bet I'm going to get the same result.
      but yes, this method works without golding the licenses. I just did that to avoid doing them.

    How Did You Record GT2 Without Lagging?

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  5 лет назад +1

      It's down to specs mainly. I have a desktop with 8gb or ram, a quad core intel i5 processor, and the graphics card is good enough for this emulator. I think the harddrive space may also have a play in it, because my laptop originally didn't do too bad at recording GT2, but now lags like crazy whenever I attempt to record GT2 on it (I only have 104gb of space left on it).

      The 1991 Toyota Supra TwinTurbo R should be for sale on your version for under 10,000 cr. Now, you won't have money for upgrades afterwards, but that won't matter as upgrading the 1993 Supra Turbo in my game is honestly just to make it nearly as fast as the TwinTurbo R.

  • @EnzoTestarossa740
    @EnzoTestarossa740 5 лет назад

    I have to say. GT2 is way easier than GT3 IMO. The A.I in GT3 is more aggressive. GT2 isn't too deep as GT3. In GT3,the game is less generous when it comes to Prize cars and money.

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  5 лет назад

      For sure it was, the career mode gave me quite a bit of a challenge with its A.I..
      It was only when I got more powerful cars and started modding the heck out of them did the challenge stop. Another thing I think increased the difficulty was that you couldn't win the same prize car multiple times, unless it was a championship race.

    • @EnzoTestarossa740
      @EnzoTestarossa740 5 лет назад

      @@RandomCarGuy17 When i sell a race car because of it's higher value, I usually tried to get it again but i figured it isn't a way to make easy money fast as the GT All Stars GT2 race when you can sell the Speed 12 for 500,000 in the Red Rock Valley Track. But i realize that the championship races can be very hectic and long. One thing that didn't make sense is the Altezza Race. Like if someone who started Playing GT3 for the first time and just got the car without modify it. Once the cars starting to catch up quick, Well, time to sell a car or save money to upgrade. Glad i finished the whole game. The Altezza race kind of vaguely familiar of the FF race and the lightweight races in GT1. Those cars will catch up quick. That Old School Rubber band A.I.

    • @RandomCarGuy17
      @RandomCarGuy17  5 лет назад +1

      @@EnzoTestarossa740 Nope, there's no method in GT3 that could ever match the easy money method in GT2 with the TVR Speed 12. Then again, you don't really need it as much in GT3 as most cars aren't too expensive to get. Plus, I have been able to get most of the cars from the dealership by winning them like the Viper GTS-R or Corvette C5.R.
      Unfortunately, I have never finished GT3; I never found the motivation to do it. The race length in the professional races bored me.
