- Best RV Roof Cleaner for organic growth, in my opinion. This is how I clean my RV roof with little to no scrubbing! 30 Seconds Cleaner made my RV roof look brand new. Also note, this is a bleach-based product, so wear clothes that you don't mind getting stained and ensure that bleach can be used on the type of material surface you intend to clean. I've used this product all around my house, on vinyl siding, plastic chairs, shingles, concrete, decking, wood, and my RV roof, which I believe is TPO. Make sure to read all the instructions and safety warnings posted by the manufacture of the product and make sure its the right product for your scenario.

Here are assorted sizes of the 30 Seconds Cleaner product below...
3 Pack Hose-Spray Bottle: amzn.to/498GvwP
1 Gallon Jug: amzn.to/3Qsmz0J
Motorized Sprayer Jug: amzn.to/3QefCyY
Handheld Sprayer Bottle: amzn.to/3tKCFKq
Gel-Gloss RV Wash and WAX: amzn.to/3MbZzAr
DeWalt Cordless Pressure Washer: amzn.to/3sa6zXV
There are better pressure washers out there, but this is what I use because it fits my existing batteries.
Camco RV Wash Brush with Adjustable Handle: amzn.to/3Q9CkIx
I don't use this attached to a hose, I dont like how it operates with water flowing through it, and I would rather not feel it tethered to a hose when trying to use it. I just rinse with the hose separately.
100Ft Expandable Hose: amzn.to/409wMCm
I use these from different brands, this is not the exact one I use, but it should give you some ideas for a light weight, durable, long length hose needed to get around the RV. Might want to shop around a bit and read reviews.

One of the best DIY RUclips's ever! Nice quick intro; No wannabe Hollywood trailer; Respect for people's time; Quick mention of subscribe and like, and even a point near the end "If you're done watching...you can leave now.." I wish this was required reading for all the others.. Well done!
What do you think of the Dewalt power washer? Enough GPM?
Thanks for the kind words. On the DeWalt, I have mixed feelings. It's not super strong from a PSI perspective, but it does do more than a hose nozzle so for someone looking to super charge their hose without hauling out a gas powered pressure washer, it may give them what they are looking for. I also don't like the way the plastic QD attachment is setup, it seems like it takes alot of stress when moving around if you don't maintain hose slack with your offhand, sort of like when you vacuum your carpet and need to hold the power cord with your off hand. The battery-powered aspect makes it easier to grab and go, but the big 9AH battery also makes it heavy in hand, so a 5AH battery is easier to handle but less runtime. So again, mixed reviews. I'm not head over heels on it. Hope this helps.
I’ve been wanting to try this cleaner on my vinyl siding but worried about the overspray getting on my RV roof. Your video just sold me on using it for everything. It looks like it does a lot better than regular roof cleaners. 👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks
Every RV could have different results because materials and environmental variables could be different. If you are worried about your siding, it shouldn't hurt to get it wet with water first, so that the chemical dripping from the roof has something to dilute it on the way down. Then wash the whole rv after you completely rinse the roof. That removed streaks for me on the side walls. Hope this works out for you.
Just did this on my RV & like everyone here says, worked fantastically! Thanks for the informative video 👍🏻
You are welcome! So glad it helped!
This stuff really works. Tried it out my roof looks new again. Well worth the money.
I'm so glad it worked for you! I continue to use it on my roof and started cleaning concrete and my composite decking. I love this stuff.
Thank you so much for your video! After I saw your video, I did this on my RV roof as well and had amazing results.🎉
So glad it worked for you! Thanks for the comment!
Very good video. I just tried this on my moms RV which is year round in a wooded area. She told me that the person she pays does it in an hour but does not give her before/after photos. After cleaning it, I doubt it is actually cleaned. I did use this product and after removing all debris and doing it once it looks like your before . Some areas did come clean and the awnings look fantastic. I did not have the time to leave it on and to see better results as I had to remove algae, moss in some areas. I have great hope for this product and will let it set longer when I have another go in the fall. So appreciate the video as there are so many strange product suggestions ie 'campfire advice' which are such a waste of time/money.
Glad to hear you got value from this video.
Just wanna let you know I had the same problem on my 35 foot Coachmen travel trailer. It’s on the oak trees. I use the whole gallon of simple green port straight on the roof and added simple green mixture in a bucket and scrubbed it for 2 1/2 hours what a waste of time, picked up that 30 second cleaner that you talked about and boy oh boy I was done in probably 35 minutes 45 minutes. Tops roof looks brand new thank you a ton. Take care.
So glad it worked for you!
I totally appreciate how thorough you are. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting.
If you got value from this video, that may mean you are a fellow RV owner. If you are, check out my mouse proof RV video, I've been trying to get the word out on how to eliminate mice entry points for good, it's worked for me for almost 4 years running now. It's one of the top videos on my channel.
@@WhatsMyGear perfect timing! I’ll check it out tonight.
@@WhatsMyGear bad news, I ALREADY VIEWED IT!!! LoL. I used your video to mouseproof my RV this past winter. Great job. I’ll let you know how I did when I unbutton her this next week. Thanks again! Great video.
@mr.peabody3509 haha, too funny! Well, I hope it worked for you. Please let me know. I'm always interested in finding ways to improve if something doesn't work completely 😀
@@WhatsMyGear welllll, we sanitized everything, put mouse repellent, mint scented objects everywhere, blocked up all the holes, we even had to clean out our ductwork, elevated it completely off the ground with nothing touching, greased the nose gear to prevent climbing, wrapped it in a protective cover, sealed up all of the holes underneath with foam and metal mesh screening, they still got in. It’s worse this year than it was last year. Now we have to sanitize the entire trailer, again. Hellllllp!
I did find a product on Amazon, which is a special trapping lid that goes on a 5 gallon bucket with peanut butter under this flap. However, that actually requires the mice to get in first and draws them in at the scent of peanut butter. I didn’t like that. It definitely has a high success rate once the mice are in though. Now I think I have to unbutton the whole undercarriage sheathing to access the ductwork to replace it.
Pre rinsing the sides, front and back of the rv, will help with the streaking. Even better if you could have a second person keeping it rinsed off while your rinsing the roof. Good video.
Love this suggestion! Makes alot of sense!
I’ve used this product on my house before but never my camper. I know that product is like a super concentrated bleach, and now that this video is about 8 months old, how did all the seals and other parts hold up to that cleaner? I would assume by rinsing off afterwards it wouldn’t cause any damages, just want to verify before I wash mine. Thanks and great video 👌🏻
Seals and camper is fine. I've was just on the roof 2 weeks ago blowing off leaves and sticks. Everything looked great.
Well I’m sold.
I am very happy with the results. It's the only way I clean my RV roof now.
I use the same 30 second cleaner on my rv and get the same great results.
Awesome to hear it's consistent. Thanks for commenting!
@@WhatsMyGear of course, I plan on using this method before I re-coat my rv roof to make sure it is super clean. I planning on using APCO pure silicone sealant. It’s expensive ($349 at Lowe’s), but it comes highly recommended. I get 10% off anyways, veteran discount. It’s supposedly going to last indefinitely. APCO 576.
Does it roll on or spray or something else?
@@WhatsMyGear roll on, The guy that did some remodeling inside my rv recommended it. Said to use a 3/4 nap roller, don’t skimp he said, lol.
He wanted $1500 to do it, ouch, tyvm but I’ll do myself.
@biggeejackharley77 makes sense to me
I'm also a do it yourself kind of person. Let me know how it goes (if you don't mind). I may try it and for a video.
Hey Ted, nice video but would be good to include what type of roof material you have. I'm not sure that cleaner would be good on a rubber roof, looks like yours might be a TPO roof.
Hi, thanks for commenting 😀. I did some research and discovered TPO is a type of rubber. In addition to using it on my roof, I read customer reviews on Amazon from other folks who used it on their RV rubber roof. They said it worked fine, but they ensured it didn't sit on the roof for any longer than 3 to 5 minutes and rinsed it really well. The manufacturer says it can be used on RV roofs but they don't go into detail on all the types of RV roofs and i assume this also means when used as directed (i.e. dont let it sit longer than directed on the bottle). As a side note, this product can be used on lots of things. It's a multi-purpose multi-surface outdoor cleaner. I've used it on everything around my house. Vinyl siding, shingles, concrete, wood, trex decking, glass, painted surfaces, plastic tables, and chairs. I've cleaned a ton with it. It's not damaged anything yet except the clothes I'm wearing because it's bleach, so fabrics would not be something you want to get it on. As a result, I wear my painting clothes and remove patio cushions before using it in that area. Hope this helps 😀
Bleach does good work
I tried other products that said they were specifically for rv rubber roofs, they didn't work, this was the only thing that did in my experience.
Here's the product link: amzn.to/498GvwP It's called 30 Seconds Cleaner. This link uses my Amazon affiliate account.
Hey Ted! Sweet RV!
Haha! I didn't know you subbed to my RV channel. Thanks! Been a long time, how you been?
@@WhatsMyGear been good man! Just living life and stuff lol
Did you just use this on the roof or did you also use it on the full RV
I only used it to clean the roof. But it causes white streaks along the side of the rv as it drips down from the roof. So I washed the rest of the rv with an RV Wash and Wax soap.
If you wonder, Spic and Span is also bleach based, and also not recommended by roof manufacturers because it destroys rubber.
For some reason this manufacturer recommends and brands the product for rubber roofs. So I'm not sure if they add something to neutralize the effects of bleach on rubber or if they dilute it to a safe level, not sure. But this manufacturer says this is what it's made for.
Did you use the 30 sec also on your camper as well or just the roof
Just the roof, but it drips down the sides, so I washed it with rv soap to get rid of the streaks.
What's the product called??
The link is in the video description. The product is called "30 Seconds Cleaner"
Pressure washing is asking for trouble
It's super low psi, like 300 or something like that. Is that the concern?
How does it work on tree sap ??
I don't know. I just cleaned whatever was on my roof, I didn't look to see if sap was on there.
@@WhatsMyGear what's the name of that cleaner ?
@@haroldconover5221 here's the link to it... amzn.to/498GvwP is called 30 Seconds Cleaner
I've been using LAs Totally Awesome on pine tree sap, read dilution instructions, rinse well. Rubbing alcohol works, takes longer.
Awesome will strip paint.
I tried this cleaner on my minor stained TPO roof (gets cleaned 2-3x /year). Last cleaning was Nov 2023. Looked perfect. But I tried to clean such in June 2024 using 30-Sec Outdoor Cleaner, but after 3 intense scrubbings, got nada. Zip. Dawn alone did better, albeit not sufficient, cleaning job. I even scrubbed on hands & knees with my hands in the 3--Sec cleaner solution straight out of the bottle. Nothing. Worse product I ever used. Returned and gave this product 1-star (should have been 0) on Amazon.
I'm surprised to hear that, it worked great on my rubber roof. Did you find anything that ended up working?
Did you contact the manufacturer of the product? My mom gets advice on different products via the 'campfire' and every so often there is a new thing to try. Dawn has not worked on most things we tried. We won't use in the house due to EWG ratings but a brother who is a mechanic uses it for his laundry. It did nothing for my mom's RV roof. Please share before/after photos and the type of dirt/debris.
@@WhatsMyGear. Actually went to an R roof expert and he used mineral spirits on a very small area followed by Dawn & ample water flush. Perfect!
Mineral spirits concern me a bit because I've watched it melt paint.
Well, RV techs say to never use bleach on a rubber roof!
The manufacturer says it can be used on rv rubber roofs if used as directed, so it's up to each person to research and decide what they want to do. Personally, I hadn't seen any negative effects on my roof yet.
It's just bleach...
I'm not sure what else is in it, but It works great and solved my problem 😀
It does have a bleach smell but did not bleach my clothing at all. Sodium hypochlorite is listed on their web page along with a trade secret ingredient
Same? When I mixed it to their spec, I didn't get those instant clothing stains that bleach gives you. But when I mix it strong, i do get a mild bleach stain, not as drastic as raw bleach, but you can tell it's a bleach stain.
