I wish there was a batman comic where the characters had similar personalities to what they had in lego batman 2/3 and lego DC supervillians. Those are honestly my favorite versions of the characters, and I'd love to see something similar to them in regular comics
I still really want comics to be released on a yearly basis. I’d rather get an entire arc in one big manga-style book every year per series rather than a small portion of that arc every month. It’s way easier to keep track of, way easier to get into for new fans (they’ll just need to buy one book every year), and if they want to do crossovers they can just release all books in those crossovers as part of a cheaper special edition set. Never mind the fact that writers won’t have to worry about writing cliffhangers all of the time. How cool would it be to get one full Batman arc in a single book? And if something happens in another book that impacts the Batman book, buying a single other manga-style book to get the full story is not as big of a pill to swallow. Batman had to leave to do some League stuff and Dick Grayson was in control for a bit? Well if you buy this SINGLE other manga-style Justice League book (also its own full arc), you can find out what Batman was doing. Doesn’t that sound much better than having to worry about buying literally dozens of smaller comics to get the full picture? That’s WAY more accessible to new readers! This also makes the stories WAY more collectible. As they are right now, comics are hard to store and harder to show off. With a manga, I can just store it like any other book. With a comic, they pretty much HAVE to go in some cabinet or they’re gonna get all crumpled. Plus they’re nearly impossible to store in a way that makes them both easily accessible and visually neat. Having tons of differently colored thin spines sticking out isn’t very visually appealing. I haven’t even brought up the fact that this could even be a great way to get Japanese people into Western comics. I guarantee you stuff like Spider-Gwen or Supergirl has the potential to be massive over there. If I remember correctly, the Spider-Verse movie did very well over there. Strike while the iron is hot! Or better yet, heat up the iron even more! I can’t believe we’re still releasing comics very similarly to how we used to do it nearly 100 years ago.
The only issue I have with this as a huge batman fan is that they haven't Included and probably won't include Catwoman. Which is a massive miss opportunity because I would love to see Catwoman and batman be a cute couple and see how they play off each other's personality
To me one of the most relatable and interesting parts of Batman is the found family aspect, it is always heart-warming to see Batman find new family in all of those kids that he has chosen to take care of, because he didn't want others to end up like him, because at the end of the day Bruce lost all of his childhood and innocence in that alley, but he is able to ensure that all of those fall under his care don't have to give everything up like he did. While they join his crime fighting crusade they have a much brighter life than young Bruce did, for as great a dad as Alfred was there were things that even he couldn't give to Bruce, but now Bruce through the family he has found and created is able to give it to his children which is a really nice thing that sometimes is really overlooked.
I actually love Webtoon. It has a great mix of punchy action stuff and wholesome slice of life, and those are the two reasons I love superhero stuff as well, so this comic sounds exactly for me. I know it isn't action focused, obviously, but Webtoon is very good at action. Wow, didn't know I could ramble in comment form.
I feel like they aren't trying to save comics. Comics for the last 3 years have had their best sales ever, if this continues we'll be looking at this era as a 2nd golden age. I certainly agree with all your other points, but comics don't need saving; just improvement.
Good video, Drake. That webcomic looks great and I believe I'm going to love it. As a big The Looney Tunes Show, Min Archizeis Ti Mourmoura, FRIENDS and Red vs Blue fan, I really like the concept of slice of life stories. In fact, if any gigantic crossover between multiple franchises (such as Marvel, DC, Transformers, Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, MHA, RWBY, AOT, Dragon Ball, Spawn, TMNT, Spongebob Squarepants, Disney, Looney Tunes, RvB, Halo, Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Power Rangers, Gundam, Naruto and more) is to happen, I would love it if that crossover or at least a big portion of that crossover involved the characters just hanging out, dealing with random shenanigans, bantering with each other and poking some fun at each franchise's weird logic. Just lots of different characters from different franchises dealing with fun shenanigans. Here is a possible short script: Ironhide walks in a room and sees Yang Xiao Long and Katsuki Bakugo making out. Ironhide: Eh, mister Indiana Jones, why are Yang and Katsuki trying to eat each other's mouths? Then Indiana Jones, Yang, Bakugo and Deadpool try to explain to Ironhide how romance and sex work between humans. Something like that would...be...glorious.
Ooohhh I'm glad we got your opinion on this series 😄 I have always loved WebToons, such an easy accessible way to read comics, and I saw this pop up on launch day but wondered if it was any good. I have also always wanted to read a little more Batman but have always been intimidated by the multitude of iterations. I'll definitely be checking this one out!
My headcanon on the pastries is Alfred spends every night stress cooking, and if someone gets injured he ships the results off to the food bank or something.
Honestly if another "regular" comic character were to make the transition to webcomics, I feel like a comic with the sort of stories common in The Spectacular Spider-Man TV series would work really well, should Marvel ever choose to follow DC into the world of webcomics. Because let's be real, the best Spidey stories read as a half slice-of-life, half superhero story, with both affecting each other. There are a decent chunk of good comics that blend these elements really well on both Webtoon and Tapas (another webcomic platform that I am a huge fan of), so I think it could both be a success and perhaps give the character some much-needed life in the same way this comic is doing for Batman (showing aspects of the character that aren't as widely shown in more mainstream stories).
@@HELLO_KORO Damian is half Arabian and aside from the white streak there is no difference between the three Robins they all look the same with the black hair.

This Webtoon deal is honestly, the smartest move DC has done in a while. There is so much potential with this Webtoon deal. It's a decently sized demographic, it's widely available as well as easily accessible in places where traditional comics are either hard or too expensive to come by and this could help get some new blood. And the webcomic seems to be successful. One of the site's popular comics God of High School actually had a popular Anime adaptation. The first two hardcover trades of one of Webtoon's popular comics, Lore Olympus a romance drama take on Greek mythology have been on Amazon's Top 50 Bestselling Comics & Graphic Novels charts for over a number of months and neither volume are even out yet, that's how big of an audience Webtoon has.

I wish there was a batman comic where the characters had similar personalities to what they had in lego batman 2/3 and lego DC supervillians. Those are honestly my favorite versions of the characters, and I'd love to see something similar to them in regular comics
I've been saying this for years. DC is based on the idea of legacy through family. Marvel is based on legacy through inspiration.
I actually like both the gothic mystery parts and the wholesome found family parts of Batman, you can enjoy both guys.
8:22 They even did the "Spider-Man Pointing" meme
My personal favourite is vigilante bingo, so many meta jokes.
It’s the stuff we’ve wanted from Batman, we always get his badass stories, but we all wanted to see him and his family squabble over something
this is literally so up my ally it’s insane
7:26 It's because of Alfred's secret identity: Super Butler! :P
1:45 Damn drake those must be some serious specs, the magnification is scary at some angles.
I personally absolutely adore it ahh
Damien is so perf and the interactions are so enjoyable
Dude I'm sure you've already read it but if you like this you'll love Tom Taylor's Nightwing. The bat family literally has a groupchat
I've Never Read A Batman Comic, But Got Heavily Invested In The Fandom, So This Was An Absolute Blessing
I feel like they aren't trying to save comics. Comics for the last 3 years have had their best sales ever, if this continues we'll be looking at this era as a 2nd golden age. I certainly agree with all your other points, but comics don't need saving; just improvement.
I throughly enjoy these comics and I love bats being an actual dad
I really liked the comic. It’s fun wholesome slice of life fluff. Love the batfamily and hope more stories show them having a functional relationship
Honestly I've always thought we need more slice of life in western comics
OMG!!! Is that a real life world's okayest dad mug??!! I want to buy it so badly
That’s why young justice is so good, it has a light of slice of life moments
You forgot to say Jason and bats did the spiderman pointing meme in episode 4
Here is a possible short script:
Ironhide walks in a room and sees Yang Xiao Long and Katsuki Bakugo making out.
I love these webcomics they remind of the lego straight to video movies, its good to see a healthier side to the bat familly.
Now all we need is one about Superman, because man am I getting sick and tired of all the evil superman shit
We need the actual Superman put back into mainstream instead of him being brooding or Evil.
I just like the idea of super heroes hanging out with eachother
I'm glad Casssandra is doing something *NOT* written by Adam Beechen
This has been such a great series and I can't wait for the next issue !
I would not trade jason tackling damian over a cookie for anything in the world
I started reading it just because it included Duke Thomas but it's honestly a great story
I can confirm; I've read the first few issues separate and they're really enjoyable.
I love how when he was trying to defend himself an arm stretches out to drop money in is pocket
Lol did I just spot a Spider-Man pointing joke on the Red Hood and Batman scene
Ngl I didn't expect for this series too be as much of a vibe as it is and I'm all for it
8:23 love the pointing Spider-Man refrenc
You know what I'd like for DC to make each of the Robin's look different because most of them look exactly the same with the black hair.
Jason has a white streak and Damians tanned
@@HELLO_KORO Damian is half Arabian and aside from the white streak there is no difference between the three Robins they all look the same with the black hair.
I actually heard about this... BUT I HAD NO IDEA THAT IT WAS OFFICIAL! I don't really care much about Batman outside of concept. But this. Yeah, now I think that I've really gotta read this!
All we need now is the batfamily and the arrow family sports day
Okay but can we talk about that scene where Jason and Bruce basically recreate the Spiderman pointing meme bc that one killed me 😂
4:50 Justice league has a deacent rich conversations about super league heros but this one specifically talks about the robins as a family, the batman family
This Webtoon deal is honestly, the smartest move DC
has done in a while.
There is so much potential with this
Webtoon deal.
8:23 Battoman, Battoman doing everything a batto can.
0:27 Maybe in the 90s they were anyway. Snider's movies sure haven't been helping their reputation in recent years though.
I like the gag about disclosure with money put in pocket, it make my laugh
Quitters never win and winners never quit
5:38 You're right and you should say it.
My favorite one is when Jason gets PTSD flashbacks of and the bat family comforts him during this time
2:06 is the best part XD
2:13 Totally looked like he was bribed without him even knowing XD
THE WORLD’S OKAYEST DAD MUG
