I didnt buy them from Japan because of no warranty, but I will now!

Have y’all got hands on the recently released 6th Sense Response rod? It’s their new neko/wacky/Dropshot rod. The limited time I’ve had it on the water has made the 6’10” medium my new favorite wacky rod. And they are reasonably priced at $130
I’m looking forward to seeing you guys do a sensitivity “battle” between the Poison Ultima versus the NRX and the NRX+ seeing as the NRX/+ are the “industry standard” for sensitivity.

Hey Matt: Great video as always. I know you and Tim cover a lot of rod and reel brands including Shimano which you both love. That said why not much about Okuma? Thanks…🎣🤔😎🐝
Just ordered an Aldebaran BFS ! 2023 is going to be the year that BFS explodes in the USA. There are so many rod and reel options now. I'm excited for the new Evergreen Combat Sticks as well.
If you notice, when you put your hand on the Mojo once the reel was on it, you aren't even touching the new triangle handles. I don't think most people do while they're actually working the rod/reeling).
Good review, there’s definitely some new things to try. You should pick up an Ark invoker limited 6’8” med extra fast and throw an alderbaran on it. There is something seriously special about that rod. It’s really a fast action ML but the sensitivity competes with the best.
I have the new Intenza on the way (7'6" Med Heavy Glass). Was going to pair with the Trax 200A but TW put the Curado 200K on a daily sale for $150 (and I got a extra 10%) so I ended up going with the 200K. It's going to be my first crankbait specific setup and I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas for it to show up.
Hey mate, two footnotes: The new Curado M has also got a brand new drag washers that should be a hybrid form between felt and carbon and result in heavy spiking / more hooking power. Zodias and Expride got a Monocoque handle, Poison Adrena has got a Full Monocoque handle. Thats already a noticable difference. Curious whats different about the Ultima's handle.
The entire structure of the Ultima's handle is different. It has 3 spines (each corner) instead of 1 so it's torsionally much stronger. Where all the existing monocoque handles are essentially a single rolled tube, this is multiple pieces overlapped to build the structure. And then I suspect shape has a lot to do with the vibration amplification though I am admittedly just an angler and some of that tech goes over my head.
@@tacticalbassin I totally understand and that suits you. I Work for the company so I do have to get into that technical stuff. But about the Ultimata, it really looks amazing. Unfortunately, were not gonna get em in Europe :/ Great review and keep it up!
For Michigan angler, would you recommend the Tatula Elite AGS 7'6" or Pre Order the Expride B 7'6" ML. Got the Expride B 6'10" because how much you guys liked it. As a gift, just got the new Tatula Elite AGS 7'4"(Frog rod). Really enjoy both rods but wondering if you think one is better over the other or had another recommendation. Thanks for the gear reviews & Vids 🍻
wow that shimano poison ultima the rod weighs less than some of the baits you would throw on it just crazy. and i can see folks buying it. unfortunately it's not me. great job love seeing the new stuff to dream about.
Overall a good breakdown. Daiwa and Shimano are the only choice for reels imo. The new curado is a meh for me looks like they will get scratched up fast with the gloss. Just keeping the K’s I have. It would be really something if they went retro and released D’s or E series again. Just FYI , Daiwa didn’t get lighter with the new Tatula. Its construction definitely got stronger though.
@tacticalbassin I see you recommended the 7’2” medium mod mojo bass, casting. Are you thinking that is an excellent chatterbait/lipless option? Thanks!
I've got a request for a video or series of videos. I've gotten some decent gear so far and now I'm trying to upgrade the gear I have. Example is the 13 Fishing Defy rods I have are okay but I'd like to upgrade them with lighter and more sensitive brands/models. The Defy rods were cheap but I don't want to experiment with new rods by dropping $100 to see how they perform. I do my best to test how they feel in stores but do most of my shopping online. How about doing a video for best (lightest/most sensitive) rods $100-$150, $150-$200, etc.. I'll go back and rewatch your combo videos from this last year and see if I'm just forgetting info you've already given. Thanks.
Can y’all post an honest review over the falcon rods lineup? I know you were impressed with the warranty and I know falcon rods have always had great warranty and price for their lineups.
Ironically I have the original KGB Swimbait rod inbound from Tacklewarehouse, due to arrive today. What you described is exactly what I was hoping for. Mine is the KGB vice the Spro KGB, slightly different in specs.
The KGB is wayyyy more parabolic than the SPRO. For our style it's just not the deal but if that's what you're after it might be even more of what you're looking for. 👍🏼
Hi tactical. Is the Poison Ultima 6.10 casting a better throwing suited mega bass oneten 110 jerkbait than the p5 oneten stick og is it just a bottom contact rod. I’m about to invest. Jesper Denmark.
Will be interesting to see what they do with the Gen 2 Conquests now that the Ultima is in the market. Expecting to see that around the Classic... hopefully they don't wait until icast next year to release them.
I would love to see the Conquest go into multiple techniques specific models like the old GLX and current IMX models. I conquest crankbait, chatterbait, etc rod would be sweet.
Matt, thank you both for the tutorials. I really like good equipment. I’m 76 and my hands and joints are worn out. Lighter quality equipment makes fishing a different experience. I have several Lumas rods that I’ve had 35 plus years and quality makes night and day difference.
So how would you compare the ultima to an adrena, NRX+, or steez ags? Is the ultima the new pinnacle of sensitivity? I love the feel of my poison adrena and the monocoque handle but at 2.25x the price, is it a marginal increase in sensitivity or do rocks and gravel feel like being hit by a bus?

I’m looking for a replacement for my Daiwa CG80 that is on my BassX jerkbait rod, this couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s hard to find a reel in the 6.5 oz range without breaking the bank.
They've been using the MGL spool in Japan for Swimbaits for years now. It's pretty exciting that they brought the MGL 3 spool down to the Curado line. The Bantam MGL was the lowest price point with an MGL 3 spool until now.
@@McFish_Snatcher I mean I throw 1-3 oz on my Shimano Scorpion DC no problem and that's a 150 size MGL spool. Using 20 lb Big Game Mono. Dobyns 795SB Fury.
Matt, is the new Aldebaran on the same level as the Metanium? Would you pair a Metanium with the Poison Ultima? Thanks for the weight advise. Getting old and every ounce counts.
The new Aldebaran is a BFS specific reel and the only 2 Ultima baitcasting rods available on the US market are a 6'10" M and a 7' MH. You could use the Aldebaran BFS but would be severely limiting yourself with it over the Aldebaran 50. Personally, I have several Ultimas from Japan, and model dependant they have a mix of Aldebarans, Metaniums and Steezs on them. With the 2 US models, I'd go Aldebaran on both or Aldebaran on the 6'10"M and Metanium on the 7'MH.
@@chrisbaldwin7734 no problem brother, hope it helps. They're also$100-200 cheaper buying from Japan. JDM tackle haven is a solid source as well as many others. God bless!
You threw me on the Spro rod being too soft, too parabolic for braid but good for flouro. Braid has very little stretch ( much less than flouro) and that’s when you want a more forgiving rod. Mono can get by with the heavier rods. Braid, softer rods and flouro falls in between those two.
To be clear... its not the braid, it's the style. Our style is HEAVY braid and DRAGGING those giants to the boat on stout gear. As opposed to the style of (relatively) light fluoro, parabolic rods to stay loaded up on a slower fight, and relying on steady pressure with light line to land swimbait fish. I hope that makes more sense.
@@alfredcoates1422 I would go with the St. Croix Mojo Bass. The St. Croix Mojo has a 5 year warranty over Shimano Altenza 1 year. If you can I would try to get both in your hands to see which one feels best to you.
I'm not a fan of buying 2 of the same reels even in different sizes no matter how good it is. But the Stradic Fm is crazy for the price. I won one in a raffle and didn't even use it until I saw I cast. I own the new Antarres DC and I love it. I actually put it down and have fished the stradic for 3 weeks now. I will b buying another in the 3000 I have the 2500
I just got the JDM Aldebaran BFS, now that it’s coming to the US will i be able to get it repaired here, after it releases here? Nothing is wrong with mine, just curious.
If they're able to tell the difference by serial number or a minor change in the reel I didn't notice, no you wouldnt get service on JDM product. But to my eye they seem like the same reel so time will tell.
Hi guys, please help me with this I want to pair my curado 150 MGL with a good rod for bass I like versátil I was thinking about shimano expride or gloomis Gcx? What you recommend?

This stuff is like the Bass Pro catalog, all I can do is look. Waaaay out of the average guys range. You guys need to do one on the “best Walmart rods and reels”😂
I added a M and MH Poison Ultima casting rods to cart but seeing as how I already have NRX+ and Conquests and the self admission that a Mojo Bass is probably the most rod my fishing requires, common sense took ahold of me before I clicked “pay now”. 😂
Great video as always TB Side note Try and use kistler rods at some point My personal favorites, that in my opinion out preform gloomis and shimano higher end rods(per price point)
We can't cover (or get our hands on) all of it, there's just too many launches at the same time. It looked really, really good in person! Hopefully we can test one in the coming weeks, if not we will cover it as soon as we do.
I've only had it a short time but it seems that Ultima is next level. However, Ultima is extremely limited on models which would still leave NRX+ as the absolute standard if someone wants to move into a high end rod line.
The Aldebaran bfs I love it to but American reel $469.98 or less I rather buy the Japan Aldebaran bfs $272.98 and buy two for the price of one if you have any sense
I wonder what will be the maximum weight reduction on these items before it backfires on performance . 🤔 There has to be a limit . still i love my glass rods much stronger anyway . Do not care about weight reduction at all to me its just a sales pitch to try and impress .
When Matt says he's gonna work his way up in price and starts with an Intenza a new fear gets unlocked

@@McFish_Snatcher I mean I throw 1-3 oz on my Shimano Scorpion DC no problem and that's a 150 size MGL spool. Using 20 lb Big Game Mono. Dobyns 795SB Fury.
@@thesonorandesertangler nice! Have you tried bigger wake baits with that extra resistance in the water?
@@McFish_Snatcher I mainly throw S Waver's in all 3 sizes and it's not an issue at all. I think the biggest size is about 4 ounces or close to it.
What about the Abu Garcia revo sx sp spinning reel. I’m interested in getting one
@@dustinwalker8152 Thanks Brother!
@@chrisbaldwin7734 no problem brother, hope it helps. They're also$100-200 cheaper buying from Japan. JDM tackle haven is a solid source as well as many others. God bless!
@@dustinwalker8152 Thanks man, I'll check it out.
Someone has to ask so I guess it’ll be me. How does the ultima compare to the NRX+!? We have to know!
If you had to choose one spinning rod between mojo bass and altenza who would you pick
Definitely depends on application. What are you doing with it?
Finesse fishing. Drop shot
@@alfredcoates1422 I would go with the St. Croix Mojo Bass. The St. Croix Mojo has a 5 year warranty over Shimano Altenza 1 year. If you can I would try to get both in your hands to see which one feels best to you.
Thanks for the info. That's one of the problems getting your hands on both.
I will b buying another in the 3000 I have the 2500
Thats awesome! Thanks for the insight!
What’s up with those new St Croix Mojo grips?
There is an MGL spool for Curado K, Shimano just opted not to offer it in the US market.
@@tacticalbassinok, thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully everything is smooth sailing with my new reel and i’ll never have to find out. 🤞🏽
Hi guys, please help me with this I want to pair my curado 150 MGL with a good rod for bass I like versátil I was thinking about shimano expride or gloomis Gcx? What you recommend?
Will y’all be doing a review on the evergreen super combat stick?
I hope so 🙂 It's on the list!
Awesome! Definitely got my eyes on it. Thanks to y’all I done bought another NRX+ yesterday. Keep up the great work guys it’s appreciated more than you know!
Bfs make a 3lb feel like a fish of a life time.
FACTS!! It's so fun!!
Love my BFS. Luckily I know people who work on JDM stuff. No way Im paying $200 more for the US version of the Aldebaran over ordering it from Japan.
Not just with the Aldebaran but with all of the higher end reels that Shimano and Daiwa make.
same models but spec wise they're not the same. goes for every one of them
@@cali_cal they typically just all have shallower spools.
@@dustinwalker8152 sometimes handles sizes , internals might be brass instead of aluminum and outside materials. bearings could be less or more. even though more doesn't mean better. etc
Reply to my own comment: I went and bought the damned things... gonna go cry in the shower now
Great video as always TB
Side note
Try and use kistler rods at some point
My personal favorites, that in my opinion out preform gloomis and shimano higher end rods(per price point)
My wife loves you guys 😂
I sure wish they would bring the SLX bfs over
But did you guys get an ultrex quest???
No we haven't yet, but Tim did get the opportunity to fish with one and loved it!
For Christmas I'd like a rod that "wants to fly away"
Honestly pretty surprised the new Stradic wasn't covered.
We can't cover (or get our hands on) all of it, there's just too many launches at the same time. It looked really, really good in person! Hopefully we can test one in the coming weeks, if not we will cover it as soon as we do.
I’ve seen videos where ppl have said there’s really nothing new to really brag about
Matt: Poison Ultima vs. NRX+ ?
I would like to know the same. I’m an NRX guy through and through. Probably all about bottom contact.
