No need to shake the rod tip, with a spinning reel you can just put your index finger down and let the line catch on it as it spools and that will impart the exact same action. I’ve done that for years to get baby flukes and other small soft jerkbaits to subtly dart and walk underwater.

@@tacticalbassin I’m not ahead of the curve haha. I obsess over bass fishing (which is probably why I relate to you guys!) and am always on the hunt for new fun and effective ways of catching fish.
Last year I started dragging swim baits on the bottom in 25-30 feet of water on structure and rock piles with a friend of mine. He showed me and it was awesome how well it worked. Not always the most exciting way to catch them. But when you’re catching fish and other people aren’t. It makes you feel good!!!!

I've been using this technique for about five years and it works extremely well year round, especially late into summer and fall when fish become more pressured.
My main success comes in the form of bass, crappie, and walleye. I've caught a few master angler crappie and walleye doing this with the hogfarm lure, flukes, or any drop shot style lure. It works with any non-paddle lure really, as long as you can make it walk. Hell, if youre using a paddle tail lure like a keitech and the tail gets ripped off, it will still roll and rock from side to side with relatively good action.

Round baits can work if they are transparent with sparkles, so they flash like crazy vs the two tone flash. Works for very pressured fish. Baits like the Duo Realis finder shad or v-tail shad are round but super sparkle-y. mid strolling the 1.3 gram duo small rubber jig + v-tail has been working super good for me the whole past year.

15 years ago strolling was defined as trolling with the trolling motor instead of the big motor which is illegal in BASS tournaments. The angler would make a long cast, put the reel in free spool, engage the trolling motor, go forward until the line was about down to the spool, stop the trolling motor and start cranking.

It works with any predatory fish large and small mouth and stripers. I was up in echo bay nv yesterday and, though the water is just starting to warm up, I was able to hit some stripers

I was hoping for an in depth on this! Want to get into it this winter. I finally caught some largemouth on a dropshot over the weekend! I had thrown it before but usually put it down very quickly and switched to a Ned rig or shaky head because I had no confidence in the drop shot. I will definitely be throwing it a lot more now.

I have been watching your videos since almost the beginning and really appreciate everything you do. I had an Nrx syr 6’10” that I loved but sold. Any idea what expride spinning would be the closest to it? Based on weights listed I was thinking the 7’ medium light?
Thanks and I am thinking expride this time because of your videos and looking to save a little versus the nrx.

    Fish definitely adapt to lures.
I fished a spot four days in a row one year.
Each day the keyed in one a different lure.
They would hit the original lure every once in a while.
Toss them something new and it was on again.
One of those nights I learned to change out my hooks and split rings.
They were all monsters.. carrying around my hooks.
I never landed one of the huge ones.
    Gods Funny Too.
One year the rattle trap was my thing.
I learned a few different styles to get stripers to play.
I didn’t get bit very often last year.
