    I have to give credit where it’s due. You are the reason why I have bought so many different JDM reels. You take your time to analyze and give your honest review of each one. I know this isn’t a JDM reel, but your reviews are great. I appreciate the time, money, and effort for these videos. 👍🏻

    Four internal brakes on with a 1/2 once lure is over kill, strting with two brakes on makes sense. I would set the spool tension knob to free spool with a slight wobble. Then start with the external brake set at the middle setting 3 or 4. Then go up or down from there, in order to free up the spool to the optimum setting and use your thumb.

    • @AndersMattson-bx6xp
      @AndersMattson-bx6xp 7 месяцев назад

      I don't get why people don't let their spool tension be att completely free with minimum play.. cast so much better than all videos showing how to set it up. When I did this change, the reels just worked a lot better than following the guides on RUclips. Spool tension ist meant as a brake, you tension it so that it is free rolling with minima side play possible AND THEN use the brakes..

    Silent tune differs from low-end to high-end but Shimano doesn't seem to differentiate. The SLX silent tune is just some rubber washers. Whereas the Bantam has the spring with a bearing. You'd have to look at the manual to see what version they put in this.

    I gotta video idea for ya… make a tier list of all the Shimano baitcasters for us. Maybe do different categories such as BFS reels, deep cranking or just best overall 🤷🏻‍♂️. I’ll leave that up to you, the professional, it would be cool to get your opinion of what’s the best of the best for the money or whatever. I struggle to find them in stores to get a hands on feel of them and would love to know your opinion of what’s best for whatever application. Anything Shimano with an MGL spool (doesn’t matter 1,2, or 3) is going to cast a mile. IMO the MGL spool makes a bigger difference than the DC chip. For anyone looking at a Curado, I highly suggest the 150 MGL. It’s an absolute workhorse & hard to beat at the price point. I actually prefer it to some of the more expensive reels.

      I recently picked up doyo coba rainbow iv which should be the equivalent to the elite if not a step higher. Its not a bad reel if your a lews fan. It is quite light and I like the hook keeper option it comes with. Not sure if the lews version has that though. It's smooth enough to be good but isn't shimano or daiwa smooth. Haven't done a cast test with it but from what I've seen on the comments on videos its average. I definitely wouldn't take it over a shimano or a daiwa of the equivalent though. At that price you are in the zone of an antares and steez. Nothing wrong if you just wanna stick a brand you like but it would be delusional to say its better than others especially when it isn't. The only thing I can think of is the drag as shimano and daiwas tend to be on the lower side.

From all the korean videos I've seen and tried to read translated, it seems to be a solid reel but the competition is just too high at its price. That is for the retrieve. Gear ratios. Spool spins x times per handle rotation for x amount of inches a handle turn.
      I think the difference here is the MagnumLite spool being lighter. It allows the spool to rotate just a little more, with less resistance on a cast.

THEN, you use the brakes.. all vids here showing you should tension it so that the bait slowly goes to the ground and change between baits Is not how professionals set theirs up, it is for beginners. It seems like pretty many don't know that thou.. over here I Sweden every fisherman adjust it so. Hopefully in your country too or otherwise a superb Currado could be felt to be shite, but the shite is in the user..
