Hi BG, you are a light and you are purposeful. Thank you for being brave enough to share your story with anyone who is willing to listen. Much love to you
Other signs of abuse are: controlling behavior (e.g. constant monitoring of your whereabouts, checking your phone and email). Intimidation. Insults, invalidation, and mocking. Gaslighting. Using a punishment and reward system. Using guilt and emotion projection as a part of the manipulation.
I am a Survivor, ut wasn't an easy get away but I Survived it all. So thankful to God for helping make it through, not easy when your alone with a child.
It wasn't until I was processing the realization that I was in an abusive relationship that It came to me that everything he did was abusive. Everything that he did was used as a building block for something else further down the line. No ties into the controlling behavior. He felt as if He would put effort into creating the illusion of relationship it would be a building block towards something else he can manipulate and control later. So all the loving gestures or the friendliness or the connections you think you're making it all is all part of his abusive tactics. I consider it as a part of their toolkit or their toy chest. As they grow, age, and mature it develops further with more utility. It gives them practical ways to work on you and that situation and it also gives them the ability to blend in better.
Thank for speaking out.
Sorry you went through this 😢. I went to high school with you. I pray for your continued healing 🙏 ❤️
