Honestly, one of my favorite bits is Jerry's Mom being so overly generous to a fault. Making sure everyone else is comfortable besides herself. "We don't even sleep!"
Julia's acting in this episode is exquisite. The drunk act is one of hardest things one can attempt, but the muscle relaxant act?? I happen to know personally what happens when you mix muscle relaxants with a little alcohol, and this performance is on point. She really is breathtaking.
Wanna hear a weird factoid? The actresses who played Jerry and George's moms both died in April 2022 at the age of 93...Liz Sheridan (April 10, 1929 - April 15, 2022) and Estelle Harris (April 22, 1928 - April 2, 2022), respectively. I always loved them in everything I saw them in.
Brilliant thumbnail as always Elaine laughing Jen laughing it doesn't get much better than that 🔥😃 both these episodes are belters and everyone is in for a treat 🎉 hit that Like button and show Jen all the love and appreciation she deserves 🔥💙🔥💙
You put it well Ian. I didn't really notice until just now: Jen and Elaine have very similar expressions in the thumb. Jen's a sharp one, it wouldn't surprise me if that was intentional.
You should watch Jen's reaction to "The IT Crowd," season 2, especially the first episode. I also love Jen's laugh, and she was really going to town in that video.
After the pen episode, Jason Alexander said to Larry David, if you ever write me out of another episode I’m out for good, you either need me or you don’t.
The Pen is the episode Jason Alexander almost quit after not being in the episode. He told Larry David "next time you wanna write me out of the script, make it permanent."
THE PEN - Elaine's head shake reaction to Jerry's parents speaks volumes for us all - Barney Martin, Jerry's dad, is a stitch (he's a small riot in the film ARTHUR - which you also so need to see, Jen!) The pettiness in this episode is epic. And of course Uncle Leo!! Hello! THE DOG - Fun fact, Larry David is the 'voice' of Farfel off-stage. Yes watch CUJO.
@calibre97 It's going to get into the teens tonight and the 50s in the day time. During the summer we have about 2-3 months with outside temperatures in the high 80 and 90s with high humidity. Our bill in winter averages about $75 and $100 in summer. It was less a few years ago.
Just got tix to see Jerry Seinfeld in Victoria BC. He's the king of clean comedy. Great reaction 🍻👍" when the show is over, go back to the room " best piece of advice I ever got from jerry , now that I'm older I get it - Bill Burr.
The drunk dog owner character was named "Gavin Polone," the name of a Hollywood big shot agent and producer, who has an executive producer credit on Larry David's show Curb Your Enthusiasm. I believe he is/was agent for Larry David and Conan O'Brien. Polone's sister Tory played George's girlfriend with the answering machine in "The Phone Message" S02E04.
18:46 That poster in the back ground!! The First Power!! It's a real movie and you should ABSOUTELY watch it!! It's so good!! A real great Supernatural cop thriller!!
Most people's auto insurance covers the rent a car, you don't need theirs. Elaine was quoting Marlon Brando in Streetcar Named Desire when she was yelling Stella!
Love the parents. The pen also reminds me of a quote from another show: “We (the USA) spent millions of dollars to develop a pen that could write upside down. You know what the Russians did? Used a pencil.”
All airplanes are subject to speed boundries, wide and narrow. For a few seconds a commercial airplane with 433 passengers might find itself diving at the speed of sound into a mountain when the speed limit is 500 miles per hour. Supersonic (past the speed of sound) is usually limited to military aircraft.
One thing about Seinfeld is they come up with the oddest or strangest fictional film titles. My favorite upcoming in S4 is ‘Rochelle Rochelle’. (A young girl's strange, erotic journey from Milan to Minsk). 😂 It’ll be a recurring theme in future episodes.
S03E04: "The Dog": the perfect episode for a Boston sighting, and you were wearing the perfect T-shirt, too! I love this series, Jen, thanks for this! "Take the pen!"
Prognosis Negative was the name of a screenplay (for a comedy) that Larry David (Seinfeld producer) , was trying to pitch to film studios, about a man who thought he was dying of cancer (I think) , because the test came out negative, not knowing that was good thing.
I am old (60). Not the biggest fan of the heat. My place floats around 60ish? I don't turn on the heater until it's 40 outside for a few days. I live in Washington state. I moved from so Cal 30 years ago, so I know both.
I had one of those Fischer SpacePens when I was on submarines! I bought a few of them! They work pretty great! They really do write upside down, funny angles, through oil. Quite useful on submarines 🙂
Elaine deserves so much more credit as one of the all-time great sitcom characters, someone who seems relatively normal on the surface but it only takes the tiniest scratch for the glorious lunatic underneath to reveal herself. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is howlingly funny and 'The Pen' shows her range, from physical comedy (tossing around in bed; the muscle relaxant acting) to comic timing and delivery ("Mrs. Seinfeld, I am BEGGING you... put... the air conditioner... ON!", and of course, "STELLAAAAAAAA!"). It often seems that the men were given most of the credit for the show's success, but Louis-Dreyfus steals the show every time she's put in focus.
As people get older, they have thinner skin, lower blood circulation, fat layers, etc. My nanny's apartment is set at 82 all the time and she is 92 lol. The Stella yelling was based on Marlon Brando in A Streetcar Named Desire. The dog was voiced by Larry David (creator). Great dog movie, Tom Hanks in Turner and Hooch.
Jason Alexander and Michael Richards weren't in "The Pen." I think one or both of them talked to the important people and said, 'put me in every episode, or else.'
Yeah, he said, "If you write me out of another episode, just write me out of all of them." For Kramer it wasn't as big a deal, because at that point in the series, his character was never supposed to leave his apartment.
One of the great things and recurring jokes in Seinfeld is all the movie titles and names they talk about or see. There's a lot of them through the episodes. You can find lists online.
13:37 After Jason Alexander was left out of the previous episode, he went to the producers mad as hell and told them that if they ever think to leave him out of another episode, they might was well leave him out of all of them because he's leave the show.
@stupidsmart-phone6911 he told them that if his character can just ghost some episodes then he's not that important and he doesn't want to play an unimportant character.
I love every episode, but these two are particularly good!! And just like you said, its so much funnier that you never actually see ...Farfull? Fahfull? Farphul?...The dog lol. And I LOVE the fake movie names they come up with anytime they go see a movie! Theyre always so perfectly generic sounding haha
"you can't tell a friend you don't like their partner". I don't know... I was going out with this girl for a couple of months. We have dinner with her friends. Next time I see her she breaks it off. I think the friends did it.
The Pen started some shit on the set of the show. Notice that George and Kramer weren't involved in the episode. They were told that they weren't needed for that story. That made Jason Alexander really mad and he told Larry David and the other producers that if he's not needed for EVERY episode in the future, then he's not needed at all, and he'll walk.
Love your channel. And i have gotten used to you being on the right now. I think cause i started watching you with you on the left i just got used to it. But you're so fun to watch it was easy to adjust. You rock! 🤘🏼
Fisher Space Pens. Used to use ONLY those in my early Army days. Had an image of the space shuttle. Now all I get is a all black Rite In The Rain pen. Still writes upside down. They used to asked me why I buy expensive pens. I was told the CCCP invented the zero gravity pen and that NASA just used a pencil. I asked, how do you sharpen a pencil in space? And how am I going to sharpen a pencil on patrol or in combat? Later, Rite In The Rain came out with a 1.3mm mechanical pencil. I use that, too.
IMHO Cujo has not aged well... unless you love the brutal 70s-80s horror movie trope of listening to a screaming child for 90 minutes straight (also of note for this terrible idea - Aliens).
I read somewhere that Jason Alexander had a talk with Larry David and told him he would leave the show if they wrote another episode without him. He was mad he wasn't in The e Pen episode. They never wrote him out again. 👍
Do you love Jerry's parents as much as I do!?
SEINFELD Playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLQHhQlj8i5drxW22VV3HWx66N0hKxiy1E
Yeah Jerry's parents are great! Just wait for George's parents, they are crazier 😛
Yes, I love Jerry's parents-- wait until they visit him in New York.😃
I can't wait until you meet George's parents. Woah Nelly! His personality instantly explained.
Yes. But George's Constanza parents are the best 😂
Elaine screaming "Stella!!!" over and over is just great. That girl loves her some Streetcar 🤣🤣🤣
Jerry's parents and the drama around their retirement community only gets crazier.
Morty is by far my favourite character in this show
Honestly, one of my favorite bits is Jerry's Mom being so overly generous to a fault.

Stellaaaa!
Prognosis Negative!
These episodes are gold, Jen. Gold.
Jen’s Seinfeld reactions are the best 🔥 and we got Boston making a guest appearance, he’s a good boy.
The neighbor lady (05:13) played the neighbor, Millie Helper, on The Dick Van Dyke Show from the 1960s.
And Fran's grandmother on The Nanny!
@@stickybeak1418 I completely agree with you.

@kevinlewallen4778 it's definitely possible Jen always takes the time and effort to bring us the best thumbnails we could hope for 🔥
Jen, your reactions to Seinfeld are my highlight of each week.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you laugh so hard…I absolutely loved it…These are my favorite reactions of yours!
You should watch Jen's reaction to "The IT Crowd," season 2, especially the first episode. I also love Jen's laugh, and she was really going to town in that video.

S03E4-- OMG, Jen your dog is adorable♥️♥️ and I say that as a cat person (I do like some dog breeds, though)🐶🐺
Yay! More Seinfeld!
Also.
"STELLA!"
I rewatch this a lot. Watching Jen laughing at Elaine is pure gold
Here I am again

"you have my permission to marry him"
I'm 78 and I love the cold. In the winter we set the thermostat at 64°. In the summer it's set at 70°.😊
How much does it cost to keep it at 70 in summer? I hope the ambient outdoor temp isn't much different!
@calibre97 It's going to get into the teens tonight and the 50s in the day time. During the summer we have about 2-3 months with outside temperatures in the high 80 and 90s with high humidity. Our bill in winter averages about $75 and $100 in summer. It was less a few years ago.

I love how the dog barking is just a guy with syth effects. How hard can it be to find audio of a real dog barking? 🤣
Oh man The Pen is an all timer for me - gets better every time I watch it ;) Gotta be in my top 10 Seinfeld episodes lol great reaction!
Julias laugh is the best in the world. Watch the Seinfeld bloopers. Love your reaction to this show 😊

Jen excellent with Seinfeld reactions! LOL The comedy suites her perfectly!

When Elaine is yelling STELLA!!!! it's a reference to Marlon Brando in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE. Which is a movie you DEFINITELY should react to!

IMHO Cujo has not aged well... unless you love the brutal 70s-80s horror movie trope of listening to a screaming child for 90 minutes straight (also of note for this terrible idea - Aliens).
Prognosis Negative was a potential screenplay, written by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, but was never produced.
Yup! Elaine owns that episode!
Love the seinfeld reactions!
Watching Seinfeld is like SCUBA diving - for fun!
I read that NASA spent millions to develop the zero-gravity pen, whereas the Russian space program just used a pencil.
The shavings are a huge problem in zero g though because they conduct electricity and can cause shorts. So the pen is better.
“Stella!”, I believe, is a reference to A Streetcar Named Desire starring Marlon Brando.
Originally a stageplay by Tennessee Williams 👍
I think the Brando version is the 2nd film adaptation.
Stellaaaaa! Is from the film A Streetcar Named Desire.
