I'm 32 year old average Korean man. How do Koreans stay slim all the time?

Very impressed with the wonderful school lunch program in Korea. I am a older guy that grew up in the USA in the 60's and at that time obesity was not a thing. Everyone was slim....but years of diets changes and sugary cereals and junk food has completely flipped this. Sad that obesity here has become so prevalent even young children. Great video, thanks.

Makes sense: You guys walk much more than US Americans, plus your diet is much, much healthier!!!!!

Interesting. The school lunches looked good. And more walking is definitely a good idea. In few days we have Christmas (in my country it starts on 24th December in the evening, so on the Christmas Eve and we celebrate also on 25th and 26th December) - and I must say I will be probably some kilograms heavier after that, cause we traditionally have always so much food, many various dishes on Christmas. So I would definitely have to do some more Nordic Walking.

Hi AKM, totally agree with you, love your fact based videos. Like American, Australian has many fast food outlets, sugary drinks, high fat foods are all contributing to a growing obesity problem in western country’s …thank you for always interesting content 🫶🤩

About Beauty standards I think is so sad people bully people that are obese. And that you have to be pretty. I’m glad that where I live people don’t care about that. I’ve seen ugly men with beautiful women and ugly women with beautiful men and so on for us what matters is how well you get along with the other person and how compatible you are with them.

I live in America since 2 years and I want to move Korea just because I like how they can walk everywhere and use transportation to go everywhere easily. I think you can walk everywhere in Korea because it’s really small

Thanks for covering this topic AKM - I had suspected the food was a big reason. In North America we eat far too many refined and processed foods - white sugar, white flour, etc. It's a lot of bread, pasta, dairy. What I love about Korean food is that it's whole foods- rice and vegetables, meat, fish. I hope the Western foods don't take over in Korea. It's good to hear you say that most people there are aware that eating too much of them is bad. And most importantly, the Korean attitude to eating is so different, and so much healthier overall. People in Korea seem to eat together a lot, and in my experience, you always feel more full when you eat with someone, or eat something someone else has prepared, than if you just eat alone. I feel like a lot of people in North America eat alone. There's not as much respect or reverence for eating meals here. Korea has it right when it comes to food!🙏👍

That all makes sense. I definitely could walk more than I do. I do go to the gym door times a week, so maybe I could increase the amount of cardio some more? I know for sure that I can eat more vegetables!❤

Greetings! 😊 You may have already answered this question,...I have noticed watching many K-Dramas that use Portmeirion Botanic Dinnerware. Botanic Garden seems to be popular in K-dramas, with the Green Laurel Leaf rim-border-band. I've noticed that your china cabinet has what looks like 4-inch tall Portmeirion Botanic Garden Mugs. Do you have any comments on the popularity of this pattern in South Korea? Thank you. 😊

I like the dedication to keep the Population Healthy by eating meals properly with lots of veggies... What happens here in the USA is that everything you do is in a hurry there's no time to enjoy your meal... Regularly you have 30 min for breakfast, lunch and you finished your day so exhausted that you don't feel like cooking and you pick up or order out and usually it is fast food 😮😵‍💫

I agree with you…I think it’s the food. The easy recipes you have shown us are so much healthier. We eat a lot fried foods and when you go to a restaurant in the US the portions are so big. Also we don’t walk that much. I live in small town in Texas. The people in our city voted no for more spending on side walks. One city official came on our city’s news and he said that not that many people walk so he guesses that why a lot of people voted no which is crazy.

Ramen is probably the worst thing that South Koreans eat, but it is usually eaten among the young, not consumed in excess, and complemented with healthier side dishes. Other than ramen noodles, there is also very little gluten in South Korean diets. Gluten can be problematic even for people used to Western food.

We walk and ride a bike here in Germany often, even in the bigger cities, it is not necessary to have a car, public transports are good, too. But I heard that many SK are going to a gym right before they have to work. Most of your food is indeed healthier, the side dishes are great, the fridges in the restaurant with lettuce and perilla are so impressing and great. Your kimchi is said to be the healthiest food of the world! But your ramen and the Buldak food is very bad too, I heard that your government gave a warning but why it is so easy to make and tasty, not so many obeyed…You drink your coffee with a lot of Ice in it, yes no calories but sorry what a waste of a great beverage (if it is well roasted and of good quality). On the other hand more western fast food is copied and I read that Japan and SK slowly get problems cause of that.

It's true that you guys have much more healthier food For school lunches than in most places It's true you do It's true you do walk a whole lot A lot. Still the beauty standards Look like everybody else That's that's not healthy If God wanted everybody to look alike he would have made it so.

When I visited your country, I was surprised to see western restaurants like McDonalds and KFC. Korean Fried Chicken is better than anything the west has to offer😄. I hope western food continues to only be an occasional treat for you. It is definitely not healthy as you can see by obesity rates in the US. Thanks again.

Americans don't share their food like Koreans. We each have our own individual plates. I think we would eat less if we shared our food. Because the US is a large country, most of us have to drive to get to a destination, walking is not an option.

There are many different cultures of people in the USA so there a food from these cultures. Yes they are people who over weigh, but there a many people who are very health conscious and doesn’t eat fast food.lookism is a thing in the USA but in a different way than in Korea. People care about their weight and looks but it is an individual thing. Not a pressure put on others to look like each other. What I would like to ask is do you think it is discrimination against others who is not a certain size by not carrying the sizes that u mentioned in their stores and also in shoes?
