    The saddest part about classism is that it's handed down to the innocent children, who are probably missing out on having some really great friends and schoolmates all because they are being taught this bad behavior by their parents or relatives.

    This issue may be one reason why some people are choosing not to get married and have children in SK. my cousins there are the same as you- they tell me exactly what you have described and they do not like that aspect of Korean society. I have several cousins from both sides of my family that have chosen not to marry and have a family bc of this BS and over competitive, over consumption nature of Koreans in general.

    Trade workers like plumbers in the US are paid better than some office workers, especially if you are in a union. Landscapers and plumbers for example who own their own business can easily make 100,000 a year. Most Americans respect trade workers and do not look down upon them. We respect a strong work ethic regardless of the type of job it is.

    As a German, I feel like our countries share some similarities and I feel a similar feeling to you. Just like Korea, our country has been build up from scratch after the war and my grandparents and parents worked hard to make it one of the wealthiest and high-regarded countries in the world. And here too, young people have less children. Our birthrate is not as low as yours yet, but it is very low still and I'm confident it'll fall even lower. We don't have as much work stress as Koreans, however, everything is too expensive here aswell, even basic necessities; also, our countries infrastructure and education system is in bad shape, I myself, as a young man, would not be very happy to send my future kids to the schools of my hometown. In my opinion, it is a country of much potential, but very badly managed; I don't know what the future will hold, but I'm not optimistic...

    Catching up on watching your videos now because I was just visiting Korea for 2 weeks. Started watching your videos in anticipation of my trip and still watching now because you make really interesting videos! Btw you should make a video just about Korean coffee / cafe culture? From my visit in seems like Korea has some of the nicest cafes in the world.

    I heard from US intelligence analysts that the story about N Korean soldiers training in Russia could be a fake story to prompt S Korea to send S Korean pilots and missiles to help Ukraine ( in the pretense of defending against a N Korean hostile act) bc they are on the brink of collapsing and losing the war. the crazy US deep state is so hell bent on keeping the war in Ukraine going so that Blackrock and other American corporations can take over Ukraine and position more nukes against Russia. The propaganda here against Russia and N Korea is so strong. Information about N Korean troops in Russia is changing day by day and we don’t know what the truth is right now either in the US.

  • @machupikachu8349
    @machupikachu8349 10 часов назад

    It’s the same way here in the US. The cost of living is too high and the wealth disparity is out of control so that young people cannot afford a house or afford to raise children. I was born in Korea and my parents immigrated here when I was a kid and I see this trend in the Korean community in the US as well, and of course in general. US imperialism, which is end stage capitalism is destroying America and the rest of the world. I am worried about south Korea’s role as basically a huge military base for the US when it stupidly tries to provoke war between China and Taiwan.

    I lived in New Jersey for 36 years. There was a Korean pear farm (called Evergreen Farm) about a 25 minute ride from where I lived. We all love them at my house. So sweet and juicy. Our favorite Korean restaurant in New York City serves Korean Pear Sorbet with a warm ginger sauce - outstanding. Saying hello from the suburbs of Philadelphia Pennsylvania - birthplace of America.

    When North Korean soldiers come to the frontline in Ukraine everyone will know because Ukrainian drone teams will post videos of them. North Korea already sends artillery and missiles to Russia, and the international community has done nothing in response, which just emboldened North Korea to escalate.

    Wow. So I just did the conversion and as of today 50,000 won to USD is like $36.00. If that's the case that's really not a lot. I mean maybe for Korean culture and finances it is but when I attend a wedding in the US I'm giving at least $100-150 just for myself. If I bring a guest if I am allowed one I add more. In Canada it is a bit less money as the societal expectation is less. We basically have the expectation we will cover what the couple spent for our meal and the additional per guest items. When I lived and worked in Korea and Japan I experienced what you're speaking of. I think a commonality is that if you're close to the person or couple you give more money. For reference I'm half Japanese, spent part of my childhood and part of my adulthood thus far in Japan.

  • @THErealOGse
    @THErealOGse 23 часа назад

    Keep talking about all this. Im half Japanese and I'm sick and tired of people making Korea and Japan into these perfect places and idilozing both countries. Both countries are full of major issues, people need to know about them. Ive lived and worked in Japan, Korea, USA, and now Canada. So far I'm happy in Canada. USA I didn't get enough time off for vacation and the healthcare was expensive. Japan is so customer and client centric that even if theyre wrong or rude you're to be nice to them even though you should hold them accountable and stand up for yourself. And you're telling all about the issues in Korea so I don't even need to go into it, you're doing a great job.
