How to disable daytime running lights in a VW Golf mk4

In this short video, I show how to disable the daytime running lights (DRLs) in a 2001 VW Golf. This can be done in all mk4 Golfs and Jettas. I was tired of wasting bulb life with the DRLs on during the day. I have expensive LEDs and I want them to last as long as possible. This modification was a must in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

Well done, but I think pinning the cable out rather than bending it is a better solution

That would mean modifying the wiring harness. Even if the pin breaks, a new switch is $5 at any scrap yard, or $50 new, and takes seconds to swap.
