    Thank you. I have realized, looking back a couple of years ago, that walking and even jogging does indeed SHRINK THE HELL out of my booty, thighs, and legs. Stair master for 30 Miniutes all the way! Booty be poppin! Legs are more toned and muscular. Even my calves are bigger.

    The elliptical actually grew my booty and I researched which cardio machine was best for booty and that’s what it said. I put it on a really high level so there’s a lot of resistance and I can feel my glutes with every move. I’m surprised you don’t think it’s good.

    Try walking on a threadmill at level 15 incline at speed 2.5 to 3 with a five pound ankle weights...

    • @kelsistilson545
      @kelsistilson545 6 лет назад +13

      I think it's the slowing down/ stopping that's bad for the knees when sprinting. As long as you're not trying to stop too quickly it would be fine. I had knee issues from soccer but did sprints in track and our track coach would tell us to take as long as we need to slow down after we passed the finish line, even if it took 50 meters to do so.

You would have to do isolation workouts to perk up and shape your butt and also add weights to build the muscle which also helps to lose weight and watch ur diet. Keep eating protein for fiber foods so veggies and fruits

    With the first comparison it's more about muscle fibre type. To be naturally good at sprinting you need a higher percentage as type II muscle fibres, to be good at endurance you need more type I, type II gets bigger, type I doesn't really, it's why some people struggle to gain visible muscle mass

    In my personal opinion ALL cardio killed my booty gains. I had to cut it out completely to see progress. The only time you need to look at cardio is if you have excess fat you need to loose. Lifting heavy weights and adding supersets or giant sets in my weight lifting was all the cardio I needed tbh now I got a nice big round booty and a flat stomach! Also I see these skinny girls spending hours in the gym lifting weights to grow their bum then go and jump on the treadmill to do HIIT I want to grab them and throw them off the treadmill, I’ve been there done it all... your inadvertently killing your gains. I done everything that these little RUclips fit girls tell you to do and saw ZERO progress. I ended up watching male bodybuilder videos like Jeff calevier athlean x and started training like them and holy shit or worked so well!!! Get your nutrition down pack, work hard be smart and you will look great!

    Best is Treadmill on a very high incline (no holding which completely negates the incline). Yet, cardio will more tone than grow muscles. To grow the glutes do Deep Squats, Lunges, Hip/Glutes Bridges. Use proper form and your glutes will burn and grow.

  • @hughparks955

    • @yellowbmblbee
      @yellowbmblbee 7 лет назад +9

      leg day IS cardio day, if you're doing it right. ;) have that as your cardio 'off' day. (I do supersets on leg day, and my heart is bursting out of my chest - it's def cardio) before or after is fine. you won't lose muscle mass if you're doing her suggested versions of cardio.

      isabella revilla let's make it simple. If you like running than run. But make sure you do some weights just to keep your muscles nice and lifted. If you eat good whole foods there is no way you will ever loose muscle. I run Everyday for about 3 or 4 miles and lift 3 times a week with combinations of whole food (no meat at all) and I still have big but and small waist.

    • @americanbobtail1
      @americanbobtail1 5 лет назад

      There is no such thing as bad cardio. However, I am a believer to do cardio without using machines. That includes and not limited to walking, hiking, jogging, swimming, sports, etc. Also, do not believe the gym anti-cardio hype. In my opinion, a triathlete, martial artist, surfer, etc. looks so much more in shape than a gym rat for both the short and long run.

    • @justtrashed

      they should be as fast as you can. This is also why Lucy's recommendation of sprinting for 1 minute is bullshit. You automatically slow down after the first 15-20 seconds (if you go full speed), that's why I like to do sprints of 15 seconds and 30 seconds recovery (could be a slow jog or even walking) for 10 sets. For treadmill I choose 10km/h for recovery and 13-14 km/h for sprints. Not sure what's that in miles though.

I’m slightly overweight and wanna lose weight in my legs but still tone it a bit too. I’m only hearing how to do one or the other. I am the same weight but I look like I lost a lot of fat and toned up my thighs and butt in under 2 months of going to the gym weight lifting only, no cardio. some clothes feel loose and some feel tight in the arms or butt. I can gain huge muscles in no time at all, I don't know if its because I am obese or genes? but I really can never shrink no matter how much cardio I try to do, I bloat and swell doing cardio other than in the water swimming. I wish I can do cardio out of the water and in the gym without my feet getting water retention in under 10 mins, why is this?

    So if I go fast on the elliptical with high in intensity I won't lose my butt and I will gain muscle

  • @alexisneupane9336

    When I sprint for a minute my heart rate is getting way to high that’s my problem. My fat zone is 120-140 bpm and when I sprint , do jumping squats or go as fast as I’d like on the elliptical my heart rate is going up to 180bpm out of fat zone and supposedly unhealthy.

    What if you do long duration but at a high intensity so I get on the elliptical for an hour but I do it on like level 16 and I sweat a lot & I feel a lot of burning in my legs

    I walk 20mins back and forth to the gym 4 days a week. Do you recommend me just sprinting there and back everyday? I'm trying to grow my booty but my car is bueno right now lol

    Is HIIT twice a week or two sessions of 20-30 mins of more intense (not HIIT but not low state either) alright?

    • @shakethehobbitt
      @shakethehobbitt 8 лет назад +1

      I should clarify...non sprinting HIIT. I dont like sprinting- do jump rope, elliptical, arc trainer, etc.

    Hi Lucy, thanks for the info! I really feel my gluteus after stair master, not much after sprints treadmill tho. Elliptical is also great for booty isn’t?

    do 20sec sprint with 2minutes recovery

  • @hipnhappenin
    @hipnhappenin 7 лет назад +1

    What speed is considered sprinting? I don't know if I'm going fast enough for sprints.... but I feel like I'm going faster than jogging

    • @sarahcorona9028
      @sarahcorona9028 7 лет назад +3

      hipnhappenin I think sprints should be as fast as you can

    • @justtrashed
      @justtrashed 6 лет назад +2

      Yes they should be as fast as you can. This is also why Lucy's recommendation of sprinting for 1 minute is bullshit. You'll automatically slow down after the first 15-20 seconds (if you go full speed), that's why I like to do sprints of 15 seconds and 30 seconds recovery (could be a slow jog or even walking) for 10 sets.

      Lisa Alexandra that’s how i am with my thighs. While working out I’m naturally losing the fat which makes my thighs thick but I’m lifting heavy so that i can gain it back in muscle

      Lift heavy and some cardio. I'd recommend fasted hiit cardio about 2-3 a week but most importantly have a good diet.

    What if you run ,then after do your butt work out ,is that effect as well ?

    • @avorotcivanin
      @avorotcivanin 5 лет назад

      no you will end up losing muscle. when you do cardio first you will be burning carbs and then when doing weights you will burn protein. if you lift first you will burn carbs, and then when doing cardio you will burn fat. cardio is ALWAYS after lifting.

    Hi, I'm a new subscriber and already love your videos!! What if you walk on the treadmill incline 15 and speed 4.0-4.3 does that help you keep muscle on your lower body/butt?

    There is cardio for your upper body, what about the rowing machine?

    • @meghanwilk09
      @meghanwilk09 7 лет назад +7

      Wlada Poljakova if you have correct form and technique, the rowing machine targets the lower body significantly more than the upper body. But, the rowing machine still does target some muscles in the upper body. It lightly works muscles like those in the back and upper arms.

      Loree S well i sometimes do 20 -30 minute cardio so idk if that's too much or if i should just cut down on the time

    • @lf9847
      @lf9847 8 лет назад +14

      Tynia Williams hitt cardio is super intense cardio which is normally no more than 15 or 20 mins. But jf its light cardio and you want to keep your muscle then you can do 30 but only a few times a week

    • @JayJay-ue3xy
      @JayJay-ue3xy 7 лет назад +3

      you can do cardio with weight lifting, you just decrease rest time between sets. Cardio simply means getting your heart rate up. And HIIT and running or jogging is really bad for your pelvic floor

    • @UNRULYMARSHA

      Tynia Williams If you trying to lose weight it's ok but if not just do like 10-15 mintues.

    I like to do intervals of incline and resistance on the elyptical to the point where it's challenging but Im usually on there for 45 min. I've noticed a lot of muscle develop in the thighs, but I'm wondering if I'm somehow getting in the way of any of my goals? I'm trying to work out my glutes recently because they're pretty weak I don't think I've ever really worked them out a lot.
