This is the first video I've come across for PSO2NG that actually explains what the day-to-day gameplay is like. Very well done! I got a really good sense of what I can expect and as a result I'm really hyped for the release - which is what you want a game to do. I look forward to giving it a go tomorrow. Superman was a baby, we are grown, Superman's planet exploded, were not even sure if we ever had one we came from an ARKS ship a millennia ago, sure we dont remember all that stuff, but that's a little different from it actually being the beginning of our lives. @@vixenxia2475 I know we are, which means I seriously hope that later in the story we can uncover bit by bit our memories of what happened, maybe as we begin to fight Dark Falz and Falz corrupted dolls some will come back to us. Episode 4 really only suggests the PC might be confused and have a hard time recalling for a short while, but of course that wasn't a long time in stasis. The only reason they put that there was the idiots who designed episode 4 wanted to "get rid of the lore" episode 4 never happened as far as I'm concerned lol, its blotted from history as far as I care, and NGS is the perfect oppurtunity to forget it ever existed.
This is how you do MMO sequels! upgrade the game your community loves for free and they get to carry over their characters within its world. Massive props!
Here I am downloading PSO2 and looking up guides and stuff like I usually do when I get a new game, I had no idea that it was getting a huge redefining update tomorrow that is more akin to a standalone sequel. Glad to hear I couldn't have started downloading at a better time.
I keep explaining PSO2 OG to PSO2 NGS is similar to how SAO has many VRMMOs but they are all based on the same Seed World that allows them to migrate from game to game easily and some of them allow you to keep your items if they are compatible enough. This is just this system in real life. Sega is making The Seed. I am ok with this.
8:49 this is probably one of my favorite parts of the video because this was needed so bad. I used to go into the event before New Gen and just got one shot every attack but would just keep getting revived, glad that's no longer happening.
Yeah I played the PSO series and I'm from Argentina (which usually have a 290 ms to america and 330 ms to japan). Always been in casual speedrunning (beating my own PB) for fun since the ping mostly matters for speedrunning events like TAs during EP1 days in PSO2 and things since it affected the speeds of monsters spawn. Still it's pretty fun for me to do it over 20 years even thou I never beaten a world record even if it was by 5-6 seconds off.
Hope u plan on making more ngs videos going forward because this was great and you've earned a sub. Practical, to the point and precise. Excellent stuff.
Is putting up items on the personal shop still locked behind using AC? Also does NGS offer free skill resets? Some of the restrictions in the base game were always a turn off for me considering most f2p games I've played don't have those sort of restrictions.
The personal shop was never locked behind AC, you could use fun to get passes. And you can max out all your skill trees now with no way to mess them up.
Couple things I'm worried about. 1. Do you still need to pay real money to reset your skill trees? 2. Is the MAG in this game? And if so, is it as finnicky as it was in OG PSO2? And can you reset it without paying real money?
I tried PSO 2 for around 20h but idk why, I gave up, I think cuz I ended up spending more time on guides trying to understand afix and mechanics. 😂 But I decided to try again now with NGS
thats true, because that also make pso2 f2p friendly. u cant just go braindead with high level gear, it is depend on ur skill. and u can play any class u want and concentrate just to that class because pso2 is pretty much balanced. sure this game isnt for everyone, but the fashion are bangers tho XD
I'm hoping for some positive changes going into NGS, but I just can't agree with PSO2 being free to play. I will only speak for my personal experience, but I had a really hard time in PSO2, as a competitively minded player. Money was tight so I didn't want to spend anything on the game and I held off for a really long time, but at a certain point I decided that premium was just required or I'd be wasting even more time. At a certain point I noticed that the personal inventory and even the storage was designed to only give you the bare minimum of space, personally I felt like it was designed to be as awkward and irritating as possible, the devs know how many different items and weapon drops you're usually going to get, so they give you an inventory smaller than that. I met many people in PSO2 that would buy AC for every scratch, some spending hundreds every time, which sure, it's fine, each to their own, but the amount of work and energy you have to put into the game to come even close is astronomical. The fact that cosmetics are tradeable is a big part of the problem, the entire market in PSO2 fluctuates based off of people swiping their credit cards, I'm not kidding. New weapon augment in AC scratch? Weapon prices go up. As time went on almost everything that wasn't cosmetic became virtually worthless, because the market is just getting hard pumped by items spawned using real money, causing hyper inflation. For new players starting late it was even worse, the only way to get your foot in the door and make some decent money was grinding the same mobs for hundreds of hours, if you really wanted to make enough meseta to reinvest into shops and grow, but even that wasn't ideal after a while. That's another thing, without premium you can't really play any market, not easily, the 3 day shop passes weren't sustainable. Main point for me really is, yes you can play for free, especially as just a casual player. But it's not easy, the game was designed to be hard for anyone who keeps their wallet shut. From my point of view without at least getting premium and some extra storage the experience playing the game is drastically decreased, at that point I don't deem it as "free to play". I've played most MMOs and that was one of the worst experiences I had with just feeling abused for my money. Genshin was more free to play friendly than that. I'm a pretty no life player in MMOs so I'm sure not everyone went through the same experience I did, but it's there for damn sure. It shouldn't stop anyone playing, I wouldn't want to scare anyone away from the game, I'm going to play NGS, but I think it's good to stay aware of at the very least.
Literally the only thing i was concerned about premium is weak drink prem, which turned out to be the main reason i wouldnt be able to get top depth 100 clear but other than that, i was using my alts storage to stock fodders and i did got a lot of money affixing when it was relevant. And tbh, pso2 was definitely the most friendly mmorpg game i ever played, sure you can play the market without anything stopping you and just scratch your way to the win, but the game needs something to give a reason for premium players to keep the game alive, since most of it was just outfits/boosters/tools to make your life easier i dont see any reason to think its unfair for f2p at least when shop pass was obtainable

Instead we get some trash bootleg soldier line up that sells for cheap in the shop cause no one wants it. All these OG's are like you'll love it! Then a few hours go by and you're like wtf? Why does everyone look end game while ALL the new players look like dumpster fires :) love the gameplay anyway tho - end rant.

Some QoL improves like more inventory space is premium, but these are genuinely optional and only certain people (like pack rats) may find this annoying. Like they have a few "you only need to pay if you are genuinely playing the game wrong" percheses but that's as close as it gets. Like you have to pay to reset your skills BUT you get like 20 different slots for skill trees to earn in game. And you have to try really hard to make a truly bad build.
1:57 problem is Global players take this joke seriously. There are people already complaining about the current 1184 battle power needed for the UQ. Lol I'm already past that 1184 and I'm just level 12. Granted, I'm using my end game Cras from base and like some crappy +35 Union weapons from the base game too. People might think Cras weapon when available will bump your BP up, not really. My friends already hit 15 and they said their Properly affixed from Base Cras weapons barely contributed to their BP and they're all close to 1300 I think? While I think Fashion is important, it's also important to know how to play the game properly and actually have gears to back it up. Somebody could read this and think I'm anti-fashion which is far for the truth. I already bought some NGS cosmetics that I could with what Meseta I got yesterday and I'm thinking of rolling for the Hover movement at 45 rolls myself. 4:40 Animation Cancelling is a bit of a non-existent thing with NGS as far as my and my friend's current experiences from CBT to today, some skills let you softly do it, most locks you in animation. Besides those 2 issues that I personally had bone to pick with, this short introduction is pretty good.
The fact that this is all free is blowing my mind. I'm SHOCKED that more MMO based channels aren't talking about this. I know this sounds nuts, but I truly think that once this becomes a little more mainstream here in the west, it has the potential to be up there with the largest current MMO's within the next 5 years. If this doesn't at least become as big as Warframe in terms of popularity within the next 3 years, I'll be shocked.

Hi. My laptop has i7, SSD and GTX 1060 (6 Gb) and the resolution is blurry. Even the system recommended me that I can play on Super graphics. I did try High standard in 3D Rendering adjustment in setting but it didn’t help. It is still blurry. Can u help me?
One think I am really looking forward to ngs is that there is no 8 years of content which leads to burnout I can relax take it easy and enjoy like destiny
i had that issue too, it is released but servers aren’t up yet. I eventually gave up trying to get it on steam and got it on the epic games store, the game file update error didn’t occur there.
Here I am just thinking "huh, maybe I should try this game. Seems to look cool" and go looking at guides to figure out its stuff and get to know the community. Come to my surprise to find out I couldn't have come at a better time. The game is getting a whole redefining update that goes online tomorrow.
JP has more players and better collabs, but Global obviously has way more people to talk to if you don't speak Japanese. I played on JP for 2 years but when Global launched I switched, definitely enjoying it more.
"The Most Free to Play Action MMORPG" Where you need to pay (real money) to list your items in the Auction House, making it pretty much "solo self found" for F2P players that will need to grind countless hours to get gear they need, and every "GOOD ITEM, DIFFERENT BUILD" they drop will be just expensive fodder that will see no use because you can't sell or trade it.
I still to this day do not understand this complaint. I played completely F2P for almost all of base PSO2 and never ran into any issues with money or having to grind too much. The player shop really only nets you a bunch of money if you are gonna be spending money on the cosmetic gacha, and even then, the functional stuff like Guardian Soul was tens to hundreds of millions cheaper than 90% of the cosmetics meaning that it was completely realistic and not that hard of a grind to get power easily.
@@Berry__Sweet Yes, the game is indeed 100% free to play, but this just makes the grind 50x harder for the F2P player, specially for a game that doesn't have much depth in it, limiting access of market to premium users just makes items cost more and literally only helps the players that "buy to play". It would be totally fine to have hefty taxes over sold items as a F2P or making VIP features even more rewarding, as long as you don't limit what some players and others can do. There is no problem for example in the limited storage access and no "material storage" for free players, but that is because we can still store things in our storage, even though limited.
Play Global, I also from SEA (MY) and already played the base PSO2 without any connection issues (without VPN). Global: MS Store, Steam, Epic Game Store, and Xbox console One/Series.

Yeh i never played PSO2 but i played PSO 1 a lot(Dreamcast ftw). It was fairly complicated and i have no doubt PSO2 is even more

2000+ hours, I never do affix, just grind enough to buy finish products.
I hate affix in PSO2 so much, but luckily NGS affix is so easy.

I know this sounds nuts, but I truly think that once this becomes a little more mainstream here in the west, it has the potential to be up there with the largest current MMO's within the next 5 years. If this doesn't at least become as big as Warframe in terms of popularity within the next 3 years, I'll be shocked.
It will be free until you want certain fashion item soooo bad and market price is bad so you won't mind spending.

My laptop has i7, SSD and GTX 1060 (6 Gb) and the resolution is blurry.
Even the system recommended me that I can play on Super graphics. I did try High standard in 3D Rendering adjustment in setting but it didn’t help. It is still blurry.

i had that issue too, it is released but servers aren’t up yet. I eventually gave up trying to get it on steam and got it on the epic games store, the game file update error didn’t occur there.

Should I play the global(epic) or Japan ver? Which has the bigger player count?
JP has more players and better collabs, but Global obviously has way more people to talk to if you don't speak Japanese.
I played on JP for 2 years but when Global launched I switched, definitely enjoying it more.
JP have more collab item for sure..and variety of big name voice actor voice for your char.
But global is very english speaking friendly

Where you need to pay (real money) to list your items in the Auction House, making it pretty much "solo self found" for F2P players that will need to grind countless hours to get gear they need, and every "GOOD ITEM, DIFFERENT BUILD" they drop will be just expensive fodder that will see no use because you can't sell or trade it.
I still to this day do not understand this complaint. I played completely F2P for almost all of base PSO2 and never ran into any issues with money or having to grind too much. The player shop really only nets you a bunch of money if you are gonna be spending money on the cosmetic gacha, and even then, the functional stuff like Guardian Soul was tens to hundreds of millions cheaper than 90% of the cosmetics meaning that it was completely realistic and not that hard of a grind to get power easily.
@@Berry__Sweet Yes, the game is indeed 100% free to play, but this just makes the grind 50x harder for the F2P player, specially for a game that doesn't have much depth in it, limiting access of market to premium users just makes items cost more and literally only helps the players that "buy to play".
It would be totally fine to have hefty taxes over sold items as a F2P or making VIP features even more rewarding, as long as you don't limit what some players and others can do.
There is no problem for example in the limited storage access and no "material storage" for free players, but that is because we can still store things in our storage, even though limited.

Play Global, I also from SEA (MY) and already played the base PSO2 without any connection issues (without VPN).
Global: MS Store, Steam, Epic Game Store, and Xbox console One/Series.
Not being able to sell anything without paying doesn't sound very f2p friendly
