I've been to farms, ranches, slaughterhouses, etc. This guy picks some of the shitty ones out there and calls it "all of them" just like every other animal activist out there.
We need food to sustain ourselves, and balanced diets are a part of that. If you cannot handle where your food comes from you're perfectly fine going vegan, nobody really cares. But what people do care about is you trying to shove your life on other people. If you think predators would have second guesses about eating us you'd be wrong. Why should I be any different? Food chains exist and it keeps the planet turning.
Pro tip man just be a vegan on your own, stuff like this doesn't do much but get you made fun of.

Most of this footage is not from farms but slaughterhouses, this is where all animals go for our consumption no matter how they are treated. No one is trying to shove their lifestyle down other people's throats, we have control of our own decisions as humans and only we can choose if we change.
Yes, animals kill each other in the wild, should we copy them and do the same or are we beings with higher moral values and live in a society? If you want to act like a predator, don't buy your food neatly packaged from a store. If you want to be a predator, then you should have no problem with the footage being shown, in fact, you should enjoy it! Why would a predator want a happy life for their prey?
The pure fact that you are commenting and having to defend the animal exploitation industry shows that the movement is working.

@@Johnsimon250 Your last paragraph is a cope statement. You aren't "winning" the war against eating meat. Cost of meat is up, consumption is down. It has nothing to do with activism as we (those of us that aren't 4) know where our food comes from.
If you had read my initial statement slaughterhouses are on the list of things I've visited more than once coming from Texas. They aren't all like this. My man found himself some back alley slaughterhouse for b-roll footage.
Btw you ARE trying to shove your lifestyle down someones throat by showing them animal gore from cherry picked instances of animal abuse to sway them to your side. It's manipulative.

@@handlesaresuperghey If you've seen these magical slaughterhouses where pigs get belly rubs and stroked before they happily walk down the kill floor then please provide some evidence or footage, because you're just using an anecdote.
Do you not think that slaughterhouses and their workers are going to be on their best behavior when visited by the public or standards agencies? Just like any other company when they are visited? Then as soon as they leave they go back to their old ways.

    • @with-eyes-unclouded

Part of the point we are making is that the horrific footage you see is of legal activity. Our point is: there is no statute or law to prevent them from putting that animal through misery. We are entrusting the wellbeing of millions of animals to people who quite simply don't respect them.
Not forcing people to do anything. We're talking. If you can't handle that, walk away.
the land of hope and glory documentary takes hidden camera footage from abattoirs all across the country of the UK. Unfortunately it is representative of how the animals are treated.
And much of our information is taken directly from freely accessible field manuals where farmers teach their recruits how to artificially inseminate the animals, separate them from young, force control on them and prematurely end their lives. Often these standard legal farming procedures is enough for people to stop funding it once they learn.
Are you trying to stop us from informing the public of standard farming / slaughter practices? Do you believe in censorship of free speech? Because that really would be forcing YOUR way of life on US.

_"We need food to sustain ourselves, and balanced diets are a part of that."_
You don't need meat for that.
_"If you think predators would have second guesses about eating us you'd be wrong. Why should I be any different?"_
You are not in a life & death struggle for survival like a predator in the wild... how is this relevant?
Is it morally permissible to rape and murder other humans, just because wild animals often rape and kill others of their kind? *You* tell *me* -- why indeed should you be any different?
Unlike animals in the wild, you are a moral agent with the privilege of easily choosing what you eat, and are capable of recognizing the suffering you are causing to the most innocent and helpless creatures in the world.

As I've gotten older, I've become more and more veggie and I absolutely don't agree with the way the industrialized world treats animals nor do I support the modern world's insane waste. That being said, vegans have no idea what tf they're doing. Do you understand that animals allow us to access nutrients from places that aren't otherwise usable for human grade food by taking plants that we can't digest and turning that energy and those nutrients into meats which we can digest. There is only so much land on the earth that is arable for crops we can actually eat. Vegans also don't seem to understand that 30 to 40% of the inhabitants of earth get most of their protein from fish, which would be completely cut off in an ideal vegan world. They don't even seem to understand that the massive tracts of land used to grow the crops they eat were once thriving ecosystems with thousands of species which were all killed or driven out to grow veggie burger ingredients.

You sound like you've never had your speculations addressed by a vegan. You must be new to this.
      1) The elephant in the room. You going veggie is an admission that vegans have merrit to their cause. You may have your own opinions on how the movement should progress, but be a voice from WITHIN the cause, instead of just being an anti-vegan. The way you're currently going about things is not helping. We need to spread awareness and compassion for animals if . Your personal moral code is in conflict with your future speculations and opinions of how we as a society should proceed. Your conclusion? This limp "I only eat a little bit of meat" fence-sitting. You're confused.
      2) Waste has nothing to do with the victims. please don't conflate these two separate issues. You wouldn't oppose human trafficing because of the resource wastage or environmental concerns.
      3) Do YOU understand that we can change the crops on the majority of farmland to... whatever we want? It's funny how you're projecting decades into the future (maybe even a century into the future) and yet you're not projecting AT ALL with regards to how we can change the land. Here's an initiative set up which specializes in converting land from animal AG to plant AG refarm.fund/ It would help you to take a helicopter ride or look at satelite pictures to see how humans have changed the earth's surface. We don't even need to project our technology. We already have the technology to smoothly transition to plant AG - and many of the biggest food companies like Tyson foods already has been making this change over the last decade. So my main question with this is: why on earth are you so confident on a subject you clearly don't understand?
      4) Animal AG is a handicap on our planet, BUT even if there is tangible utility for humans in enslaving and abusing animals in areas of the world, it doesn't justify what we do to the animals. The ends don't justify the means. Many of us can live happy healthy lives without harming animals, therefore we should.
      5) Quoting from you "30 to 40% of the inhabitants of earth get most of their protein from fish, which would be completely cut off in an ideal vegan world" - that's hilarious. And exactly when will these people be "cut off" from catching and eating fish? When is this fantasy guillotine going to come down on them? Can we talk in reality instead of fantasy land? That's not how industries change. I'll make it simple for you: Public opinion starts shifting -> Demand gradually shifts to plants -> industries diversify into plant based products -> industries have success with plant products, so they grow that sector by investing in more crops -> animal sector gradually decreases to match decreasing demans. No laws need be implimented. Any subsistence fisherman can still do what they do. Your fearmongering was made either in bad faith, or a lack of understanding for how industries shift over time.
      6) "the massive tracts of land used to grow the crops they eat were once thriving ecosystems with thousands of species which were all killed or driven out to grow veggie burger ingredients." - This is bullshit, and you gotta be thick or lying to tell me you believe it.
      1) We could reduce agricultural land use up to 76% by turning vegan. Explain how that's worse for the environment / wild animals?
      2) The country with the highest % of vegans in the world is the united kingdom - and even there it is only at a slim 4.7%. So any evidence of environmental degradation you currently have up to this point was caused by a large majority of non-vegans. Just how many veggie burgers do you think 4.7% of the UK population can eat??? With soy farming in Brazil, the vast majority is turned into pellets to feed to cows, sheep, chickens and pigs. A massively inefficient use of resources that would be better spent just feeding directly to people instead. It's amazing the mental gymnastics you will go to to defend the status quo with such zeal.
No doubt you have been going around causing a lot of damage with your misinformation. You can compensate for that by correcting yourself and spreading truthful information from now on.

Another observation i forgot to make:
you're mischaracterising veganism as a movement that places mandates on others and society at large. Veganism is actually all about what is in the individual's power to do to lessen their harm /exploitation of animals. Any outreach is merely a conversation and an exercise of freedom of speech or the participation in a democratic system. vegans can't force change, nor do they want to. They can only reveal hypocrisy where they see it. You're portraying vegans as wannabe authoritarian rulers and i can see straight through it.
