Thank you sir, builders tea or Earl Grey? I can't be doing with tea myself I'm all about coffee!!! My missus is addicted to Earl Grey!!! We are talking 15 brews a day!!!!, cheers for watching dude 🤘
Oh hi Mike hope you've had a good Christmas, thanks for reaching out, it's great this exchange of information and ideas in you tube land!!!,I was wrong about the filter coming off, I didn't realise it had a special coating on it so it doesn't get damaged, my model doesn't have a float tho, oh wow I'm going to test that in water suckion mode with the filter on and see what happens, one thing I wish I could do on you tube was edit existing videos to put updates on,like iv said before my videos are more a laugh and bants and not super serious so I get shit wrong!!! Anyways cheers Mike your a legend!!!!!! Rock on 🤘🤘🤘
Good day sir, hope you are in good health, well then iv had another look at the filter and also gone crazy and asked an electrician on site (thought they might have a big brain!) and my vacuum which is a dvc 750l doesn't have any kind of float, if I left it on the water would just get the filter all wet, can you shed some light on this? Have you got a special model?, talk to me dude lets get this sorted!! You are a Christmas star 🌟
@@UKTOOLTALK I am well thank you and hope you and your loved ones are also. Okay although I have upgraded to the newer xcv hepa vacs and previously had an older wet dry makita, the filters appear the same. I am not exactly sure of the older models number but it looks identical. What I have encountered was all my wet dry vacs had a cellulose type filter material where the float was the black center of the filter housing (all one piece). The cellulose material allowed it to be left installed and not be damaged by liquid as would the paper element filters. Now there is a standard paper element available which will work in these but is obviously not for wet which might be what you have. Although the standard wet dry filters were designed to be left in when used as far as I have experienced. This can create quite a problem when vacuuming concrete dust and then a water spill as you can imagine. Check makita # 162518-0 and see if it matches your filter. Awesome content and look forward to seeing more. I am new to you and happily subscribed
I just got mine delivered today and it has the same filter as yours but there’s a little black plastic float inside to stop it from sucking water when overfilled. It’s the same setup as the rigid only Makita built there float into the filter, which kinda sucks cause you now have to wait for the filter to dry before sucking up more concrete dust.. unless you want to have a concrete filter. Also mine came with a black foam prefilter and a thin fabric pre-pre filter on top of the white hepa one you have.. maybe it’s a design update? Model numbers XCV11Z (I’m guessing our model numbers are different than UK’s) cheers mate!
Oh hi niki sorry for the late reply, thanks for reaching out you guys watching my daft videos rule!!!!! Yes my makita vacuum rocks I love it, a great addition to my power tools and I use it most days, when I got it my other work colleagues were like oh no jons wasted his money on another makita tool thats not going to get used, well after a few weeks of seeing me use it they are borrowing it all the time and rate it!!! The other strange thing is most of my work colleagues will gladly use my awesome makita tools but won't even think about buying there own!!! That fucking annoys me!!! Oh well hope you and your family are well and happy Christmas 🤘🤘
Happy new year niki! Stoked your stoked on your new hoover (errrr I mean vacuum for all my American friends) I'm doing another video about my makita vacuum next week to try and get to the bottom of whether when you wet vacuum you take the filter off!! Also iv got a little trick I use the vacuum for when I'm soldering!!! 🤘🤘
Jon on the inside of my filter I have a black cap that moves up n down, I’d send you a pic but this platform won’t allow it, Happy new year matey to you an your family🤟🏼
Considering buying one of these. However, the fact it has no float is really putting me off.. imagine going to town on some rusty old radiator water and spraying it across the cream carpets ! Maybe ill stick with my trusty titan wet vac and use this dry only?
Oh hi there, if you check out part 3 of my makita vacuum review you might change your mind, Iv got an apology to make in it about the float issue, its a bad ass vacuum and for sucking water out of radiators or pipes you want to solder it rules, anyway check out part 3 and thanks for watching my friend 🤘🤘
Great question my friend, as far as I know there isn’t a bag specifically for this vacuum but there are some largish makita bags ie the one with the solid back and wheels, it might fit in one of those 🤟🤟
I’ve recently bought one and must say I’m pretty unimpressed by it’s sucking ability. Vacuum your workplace would take hours with what I would rather call a fancy dustbuster. I think next to the cat’s litterbox is his final destination. If you’re serious, just buy a 1000W or more.
Will do nigel, don't want to get on the wrong side of my missus!!, I put her through enough filming all my daft videos, cheers for watching and commenting 🤘🤘

Hi Kyle thanks for commenting, yes it is a bit annoying having the float inside the filter, bit of a fail for makita! There is a solution tho, if you go on my play lists on my channel there is 3 videos dedicated to the vacuum, if you watch the last one it might give you some ideas 🤘🤘
Sorry to hear that dude, was I hyping it up a bit? To be honest I rarely use mine but it has come in handy once or twice, I’m waiting for makita to bring out a xgt version of this vacuum!!!, anyway sir thanks for watching and commenting you get a star 🌟
Very informative, just what I was looking for, thank you. I have one on order. Nice hack by the way.
