    An absolute treat to hear Doc Severinsen's orchestra play on the Carson show! It's terrible we don't get to hear them in the reruns on Antenna TV.

    • @ladyi7609
      @ladyi7609 5 лет назад +2

      Yeah, that was one of my absolute favorite parts of this whole recording. They sounded waaaaaaay cooler and more awesome than whatever Sammy Davis Jr. (I think?) was attempting to do. Doc Severinsen also had a key role in one of my absolute favorite musical moments on TV when he and his band helped They Might Be Giants perform "Birdhouse in Your Soul" on "The Tonight Show" back in 1989.

      One of the greatest big bands ever assembled. And Louie on all fours driving the band! "Flyin' Home!" Great chart! Teaching a hundred lessons in two-and-a-half minutes! Bummer at the end though, about losing Jack Benny. :(

This was a few years after he did a commercial for Tide detergent where he offered to replace a housewife's Tide with two boxes of a cheaper brand; big surprise, she said no...a few years after this spot he became the announcer for the Chuck Woolery version of Wheel of Fortune, when it was on NBC's daytime schedule. 43:59 - Rodney Allen Rippy in the role that made him famous, as pitchman for Jack in the Box.

    Dear Sir or Madam:
    You and your video staff members were able to find the video that featured the classic 1970's TV commercial for BRUT™ Cologne with (the late former professional boxer) Muhammad Ali -- found at the "18:41" slot. If you get a chance, you and your staff should do an official video with that commercial by itself. But the first step is for you and your staff to get permission from the advertising agencies responsible for the commercial before you can plan the video.
    Please talk this over, and try to come up with an agreement on the issue. If you have any questions, feel free to send them to me.
    I thank you in advance and hope to receive your reply.
    Best regards,
    W. A. P.

      @ThamiumOne 5 лет назад +2

      There’s only one person who refurbishes and restores these old tapes, and he appears in several videos on this channel explaining the process - there isn’t any staff.
      As far as isolating the Brut spot, it’s something that’s relatively simple - just copying that portion from this video and creating a separate one. You probably could do it yourself.
