Joel Crager provides the voiceover for "The ABC Saturday Night Movie". Dick Wesson is providing the voiceover for Disney's "The Strongest Man In The World". Hal Douglas is providing the voiceover for Hertz (long before O.J. Simpson became spokesperson). Former Boston Celtics star Bill Russell talks long distance with teammate Ron Watts. Don Morrow lends his voice for Ford.

  • @spy4863

11:40 I remember this ad and it’s one of my favorites! I disagree with their answer to the first question-Children CAN learn not to smoke from parents who do smoke, especially when the child observes the misery and terrible things that are happening to that parent who smokes. My Dad smoked almost all his life and in the end he died of emphysema (COPD). He also developed cancer. He was the one who actually convinced me NOT to smoke, and not to even try smoking. As a kid I didn’t even like the smell of my Dad’s cigarette smoke and I often would ask him, “Dad, why do you smoke?” And he would answer, “I don’t know. It’s a bad habit.” And that’s when I would think, “Oh my! Dad says smoking is BAD! I don’t want to do BAD things! I guess Dad made a mistake when he started smoking! I guess even grown-ups make mistakes! Well, starting smoking is one mistake I’ll NEVER make, no matter how old I get!” And I never did smoke, never even tried it! Now I realize that children of smokers in general have a higher risk of becoming smokers themselves than children of non-smokers but overall I think it depends on the child themselves. There are children of smokers who realize just how badly affects their parents and wind up
staying away from tobacco. And there are children of non-smokers who become smokers because their peers pushed them into it, or they wanted to see what it’s like or who are doing it as a rebellious act or they wanted to impress somebody or any of the other innumerable reasons that kids start smoking. Some kids think it makes them popular or it makes them look “cool” or “adult”. None of my friends ever smoked and I was always “the outsider” or “the nerd” in junior high school and high school and I realized that smoking wouldn’t change that-if I smoked it wouldn’t make me popular or cool or an adult-I’d still be a nerd, only I’d be a nerd who smoked! So I just decided that rather than be a nerd who smoked I’d be just a plain old nerd who made the wise choice to stay away from tobacco!

33:16 "Archer is an American TV drama series that aired on NBC from January 30, 1975, to March 13, 1975. The show was based on the private-eye protagonist featured in a well-respected series of novels by Ross Macdonald. Due to low ratings, NBC announced it would be canceling the show after only two episodes had aired. The show aired from 9pm-10pm Eastern time on Thursday nights." Brian Keith in the title role.

Inflation jumped up dramatically that year as we all turned down our furnaces to conserve energy - a new concept. Se were tired from Watergate, growing crime/drug issues and concerns about the kids. Things were changing fast. It was a very scary yet exciting g times. But i still think that the goid outweighed the bad. ☮️☮️💟
