I'm so Proud to say that withthe help of your videos my mother finally woke up. It took patience and showing her Spanish and English watchtower. Her eyes lit up. I am glad you brought up the tobacco issue. I myself know of two men who never missed a meeting and supported their wives unconditionally for over 50 years. They were wonderful fathers and providers. One was my uncle, the other the father of my best friend. Neither of these men, in all their faithfulness and goodness, were ever allowed to become baptised or even give a comment at a meeting. In fact they were nearly ignored at the hall. Heartbreaking.

It’s amazing how they can admit that they are not inspired or infallible. Yet, you would definitely get disfellowshipped if you don’t agree with their teachings and tell someone about it. They can make mistakes about their doctrine but if you disagree, then you’re wrong, you’re out of here!

    • @MariaNunes-po5rc

How abusive is that??? Jesus had the courage to expose the hipocrisy of those elders in Jerusalem. The question is?? Should we consider Jesus an Apostate ??? He Crist came to earth to show man kind the importance to defend justice correctly. I guess history repets itself... No worries Crist will take action... This time is not to get killed by humans, is the other way around....

  • @sapphyde90

That's what made me completely lost belief on Watchtower. Noticing how flawed those who lead are and their lack of humility to reconsider their doctrines. It just takes one doctrine to be questioned once in your life, taking note on how Watchtower and local congregations act in face of a predicament, know that the doctrine doesn't make sense but yet they are not willing to reconsider.. and everything falls down like a house of cards easily. Because if they aren't humble enough to change a single doctrine on which they are wrong and want to force you to do what they want without questioning.. how many other doctrines are they wrong about? And what else is wrong, besides the cult itself? Is the bible true? Is any religion true?
Never trust someone that says they have all the answers or that god speaks for them, inspires them. If there's a god that wants to be known, they wouldn't need flawed humans to talk on their behalf.
    Great video =)

Jesus did NOT say there was a "slave class". The JW leaders are putting words in his mouth. Jesus gave an ANALOGY of a single slave.

In JW broadcasting for November 2016, Garret Loesch, the longest serving member of the Governing Body, reminded his listeners that the Governing Body does not claim to be inspired.
That statement was reiterated a few months later in an article on the Watchtower Feb 2017, page 26, paragraph 12:
“The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.”
This is not a new admission or revelation. They’ve admitted this before. What surprises me is how little reference is made to another crazy statement that was made by the governing body a few years prior to the above article. It was in the Watchtower July 15, 2013, Page 8, paragraphs 19:
“Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation.”
So, if the governing body is not inspired by Holy Spirit, if it has a history of erring on doctrinal matters and organizational direction, and if it has NOT been appointed by Jesus as the faithful and discreet slave, then what compelling reason is there to trust and believe everything they say? Under what authority can they disfellowship you for disagreeing with their teachings? and how do they justify giving elders the authority to deem you an enemy of god worthy of destruction when you disagree with their doctrine?

    • @MariaNunes-po5rc

For many years they affirm on their publications we are chosen by holy spirit, therefore our publications are guided and inspired by holy spirit..... I read that many times ... since mid 1974, and on up until that publication of February 2017.... I was very desapointed when they admitted that.... I keep my faith as strong as possible, but those statements makes many people stumble..... May be Almighty God Jehovah allows this situations happening to test our faith and integrity to HIM, and to Crist our appointment Judge.... Seriously ???? Playing all this games with God,s word ??? And involving spiritual issues ??? For it is the appointed time for the judgment to start with the house of GOD. 1 Peter 4: 17. There is a separation going on right now between true Cristians and fake Cristians. But it is up to each person individually to keep his/ hers integrity to God.

I find that this omission of inspiration of God is a way for these elite individuals to not be held individually responsible and accountable for the legal problems mounting on the Watchtower... If the believers are told that they are not inspired and these individuals CHOOSE to follow despite KNOWING that they are infallible and not inspired of God, then they are allowing this control to go on as the followers do so out of willingness and cannot sue them
"An imperfect person who recognizes their mistakes, doesn't punish people who disagree with them, doesn't break up families because one person in that family doesn't do what they want." Poetically worded...bravo...

I've attended the KH last month to be precise 3 weeks in a row after almost 4 years and now I stopped attending again. Anyway, I was there coz I've been invited but hesitated to be honest. The last time was a Circuit assembly which was presented to us through video. I noticed the GB member (the one who denied being involved with WT, forgot his name) was so impatient. He started talking again even when the translator hasn't finished speaking and gave him this look for a sec every time. Plus I've noticed they all wear those darn mega jewellery all over their fingers. I don't know how that shows humility.

They're finally admitting what most of us knew all along?! Almost all elders/brothers are not only imperfect but they are proud. God would never have chosen people who are not humble. It is hard having respect for someone who wants to correct you but acts like a rectum himself. The majority of the congregation gossips and lies terribly. Having said all of this, it must be false!

It is so obvious when on the outside looking in. Jesus said over and over, "I am the way and the only way to the Father" No pope, no church, no governing body or anyone or anything else can get you to the Father. Only the Son Jesus Christ. Ask him for help in understanding and read the Bible daily. One pastor I enjoy on line is JD Farag.com. He is in Hawaii and goes through the Bible verse by verse from Gen 1:1 to the end. Every Sunday he has a prophecy update on his site. He goes over what is happening in real time to Bible prophecy being fulfilled now. He is of middle eastern descent so can give you a lot of information of what was done in old Testament times in the middle east so when a scripture says something you understand the meaning of that time frame. I am going over his u tube video's from the Gen beginning and also watch his new broadcasts.

According to the Watchtower, we live "in the time of the end". The world has never been this bad and man has never been this wicked. The end is very close. There will be a GREAT TRIBULATION. So great that it'll be fear inspiring and unlike anything the world has ever seen. It'll then be followed ny the GREAT DAY OF JEHOVAH, ARMAGEDDON. Yet, unlike Jesus and Moses, Jehovah in all his wisdom and power, chose not to directly "inspire" the last earthly leaders of his people during the time when they'll be facing their GREATEST test. Yeah right.

  • @redastair

Goodness. So, according to the Watchtower the Governing Body can err in doctrinal matters or in organisational direction. But quite recently they’ve printed content saying that members need to follow the organisation even if it such direction would not make sense from a human perspective. It would be interesting to bring those two ideas together and evaluate them more closely. The second piece - I thought - hinted more strongly at direction from Jehovah being the reason why whether it made sense from a human standpoint we’d need to align with the org.
Also, it’s a strange position to take when you talk about the changing doctrines and spiritual food and then talk about ‘citing relevant scripture’ to support a reason for banning smoking. All the Watchtower ever does is ‘cite relevant scripture’ but, when they do, the *meaning* of those scriptures changes so it’s hard to support them taking a ‘Bible-based’ position on matters when it’s clear that they don’t really understand - no more so than any other group - what the Bible is actually saying.

It's very clear they are afraid to continue to lose members..... That is why they use intimidation, they know people get scare and humble ones they obey God from the heart ❤️ so the fear of intimidation is already planted in people's hearts 💕... And it works...but just to a certain degree. Why ??? Because God said to Moses : all the nation of Israel can use my name....... But careful don't use my name in Maine....I will account you for what you do against my Name and My reputation... They never read the 10 commandments ????

When I read this WT article my first take was, the Society can’t have it both ways… you can’t cite “we’ve been wrong before and then changed our minds” as evidence that you should trust us now.
I left around 2000 and really haven’t paid attention to the new light that came out after the “this generation” stuff that made me question things, but wow things sure look different once you get free. A healthy organization is one that is actively and effectively addressing and healing it's problems. This is done using values necessary to maintain the health of the belief system. Sweeping problems 'under the rug', using cover-up, and scapegoating apostates, rank and file, worldly influences, is not a prescription to heal a disease. With each step along the wrong road it becomes increasingly difficult for 'GB' to admit that they are on the wrong road. Leadership in the wrong hands can become disastrous to our physical, mental, and spiritual well being. IF you still have 'working intellect' use the values necessary to maintain a healthy spiritual belief system. Recognizing the source of the disease is the beginning.
Thanks for the exposure Lloyd, or should I say dr Lloyd. 💗 👍👍👍

Even if they really are the Faithful & Discreet Slave, that still doesn't require the kind of unquestioning obedience they demand. Supporting local leaders in the congregation isn't the same thing as unquestioning obedience to the Watch Tower organization.

If I could go back in time and change something, I'd go convince Constantine not to spread Christianity through his empire. It would be interesting to see a world without widespread Christianity, probably without Protestantism, Islam, Mormonism, JW's etc and to see how history would've progressed without the major influence of Christianity. I would be fascinated to see how the world would have formed in a world where Christianity is a weird little new age style religion.

Oh, that is an interesting thought. Modernity would certainly be different if there ever would have been any Modernity as we know it. The Individualism of the West, I expect, would not be, or be considerably less pronounced. There would be no talk about Human Rights. The Geneva Convention would never have seen the light. And The Welfare State would have been missing.
And also, no Feminism, no Marxism, no National Socialism, no Liberalism. The Shame that governs Westerners would have been a shame more similar to the Pre-Christian shame of Europe. And our sexuality would have been pre-Christian.

Don't let them kill your love or belief in Jesus. They do not care and have won either way if you are trapped in their organization worshipping Satan under the disguise of God or if you leave and have been so repelled you longer believe in Jesus. All they want is for you to deny Jesus one way or another so that Satan wins.

My father had lung cancer most likely from smoking and died from a heart attack at 62 (most likely from overeating and alcohol consumption). I was 6 when he died and while it was sad, i do treasure my memories with him. Imagine he was disfellow-shipped for smoking and left our family when I was a baby (note; he would not have been required to leave but its very hard to live in a shunned household). My mother died at 54 from the affects of overeating as did my brother at 66, neither of these would have been dis-fellow-shipped . My mothers sister on the other hand lived into her 90's as a smoker and if she was a JW I would never have been able to see her as she would have been dis-fellow-shipped. The reason you want someone to give up smoking is so they live longer (its not like smoking instantly assassinates a person) so you can enjoy their company longer, its completely counter to what you are trying to achieve by shunning them. The idea to shun people who smoke is insane not inspired.

In connection with "end time" chronology and predictions, the logical case for them to make (which may well have already been made?) is that God allowed them to misinterpret passages as applying to their day in order that they would be vigilant, motivated, and busy in his work, living as if his coming were imminent. Reading the NT it's obvious that 1st cent. Christians believed they were living in the last days. Each successive generation of Christians since then has had some groups that reinterpreted these passages as applying to their own day, and on and on it goes. Pretty sure I have seen some form of this argument somewhere in JW literature, though I could be mistaken.
Combine this, with the doctrines of 1) new light, 2) not running ahead, and 3) the acknowledgement that they are imperfect and fallible, and you now have a blank check to make any changes you deem necessary and expect the flock to fall in line. Point 2 about not running ahead has been addressed explicitly and repeatedly, i.e. it's not enough to be right--you need to wait upon God, be patient, follow the lead of his organization, be submissive, etc. Taken as a whole these arguments render the GB all but impervious to criticism. Naturally, most believers will be inclined to accept such an explanation, whereas skeptics will see it as a classic case of circular logic.

Hi John, Here's a quote from the Revelation book chapter 2 or page 9 'Interpreting the Scriptures The mysteries locked up in the book of Revelation have for long baffled sincere students of the Bible. In God’s due time, those secrets had to be unlocked, but how, when, and to whom? Only God’s spirit could make known the meaning as the appointed time drew near. (Revelation 1:3) Those sacred secrets would be revealed to God’s zealous slaves on earth so that they would be strengthened to make known his judgments. (Matthew 13:10, 11) It is not claimed that the explanations in this publication are infallible. Like Joseph of old, we say: “Do not interpretations belong to God?” (Genesis 40:8) At the same time, however, we firmly believe that the explanations set forth herein harmonize with the Bible in its entirety, showing how remarkably divine prophecy has been fulfilled in the world events of our catastrophic times. ' If the Holy Spirit made it known then how can it be claimed that it might be fallible? Can the Spirit get it wrong?

1:50 quote from paragraph 12 with "famous" question; "WHO Really Is...?" First that came to my mind is, WHO was making this Question to be, to became "famous and important"??. Answer: people in WT society, people who are curious to find meaning and many other or perhaps we who was faced in this or that way with JWorg .
Author/s of article offered question on question with, "how can WE answer Jesus' question ..."
As to my looking on this matter answer on that "important" question is not up to human or WT or GB!! One who is Qualified to answering on this is He who asked question!
Maybe because question is just rhetoric and need no answer from auditorium who was listened on illustration. And for sure not from those who publishing WT magazines with so many false and wrong interpretations!
"How can we answer on Jesus question...." :)))) this remind me on conversation between JHVH and Job. God said; "Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm: 7 “Brace yourself like a man; I will question you and you shall answer me."...............................................
    ....and WT JWorg answered :))))))))))

When you're a shepherd, in trust with peoples lives, YOU HAD BETTER BE PERFECT, in your scriptural duties. "YOU MUST BE HOLY AS I AM HOLY" WOW, was the apostle wrong in saying that, I don't think so. YET, when you deal with Elders, the excuse when they make wrong decisions, with perfect scriptural admonition, "Oh, well, were all imperfect" Picking your nose is imperfection, I'm sorry, BUT when you have the Bible, and you trying to help someone spiritually, THERE IS NO IMPERFECTION.

    Good Question to Ponder:
If we were wanting to go somewhere specific,in a city/country/foreign land; and we approached/were approached by,a certain individual.
If they made the claims that they are "infallible" "not inspired" and "always needing new light"(direction and instruction and clarification); would you put 100% trust and your very safety and life,in THAT PERSON(S)'S hands?
    Would it make sense to?
Would you not think to yourself,"Well,If they admit that they know nothing more definite than I do; What makes THEM any more trustworthy than my own common sense, rationalizing and investigation?".
    Worth considering and pondering,isn't it?

I thought Geoffrey Jackson's testimony during the Australian Royal Commission about the GB not being inspired was the most damaging statement ever made about their credibility as the only true religion. But it really doesn't matter. I could play Jackson's testimony to my sister who is a JW, and she would brush it off as, "Oh, I'm sure brother Jackson was just nervous", "A perfect organization governed by imperfect people", etc. Common sense gets thrown out the window when you're a JW.

It is always comical when the magazines speak of "the governing body in the first century", implying that there was some kind of permanent council directing all the congregations. It is a pretty ludicrous attempt to project current Watchtower structure back on first-century Christianity. You cannot deduce the existence of a permanent, institutionalized "governing body" from a single story about the apostles and some other leading figures convening to discuss and decide upon a particularly contentious matter in the movement.

  • @JohnDoeSchmoe
    @JohnDoeSchmoe 4 года назад +1

In my time as a JW, I never thought of the publications as _infallible_ per se, but I _did_ see them as inspired. Not perhaps _"as inspired"_ as the biblical books had been, but still somehow inspired. Yes, it was confusing.
The way I see it now, no matter which way they try to spin it, they lose. If they say - as they now do - that they're not inspired at all, then they have no right to say they are "guided" either, and no right to control aspects of their followers lives on behalf of Jehova, sometimes to the extent that it may cost them their life.
*Or* - they *are* guided, but then Jesus and Jehova would be terrible entities for not properly leading their chosen people on Earth, when they are the two most powerful (omnipotent as far as Jehova is concerned) entities in existence, and should therefore have the ability to lead their people correctly, perhaps especially in these perhaps most special days in the history of mankind; the last days of this system of things ( _allegedly_ , of course, I don't believe any of this anymore).
The "imperfect humans" excuse doesn't hold water at all, since the biblical writers were also imperfect.

    • @MariaNunes-po5rc
      @MariaNunes-po5rc 2 года назад

I agree that the Bible writers wore imperfect humans..... May be in their daily lives they exposed themselves doing or saying something wrong. But when it comes to write information that comes directly from Almighty God. They had to be very carefully,....just read the book of Daniel, when the angel spoke to Daniel the prophet couldn't understand nothing..... And remarkable the angel said to Daniel: keep writing because those things aren't gonna happen now..... Don't you think if Daniel was making a mistake the angel couldn't correct Daniel ???

    • @MariaNunes-po5rc
      @MariaNunes-po5rc 2 года назад

The human society was instructed by Jehovah when HE gave the 10 commandments to His servant Moses for all the nation of Israel to fallow. Why ?? Because even dealing with our daily issues it's better if we speak the thrud. But thru out the centuries people has the tendency to stay way from the 10 commandments...when God said: you shouldn't not be a false witness and testefied against your neighborhood, family, or others...... But how much more so when it comes to speak about God,s laws, spiritual issues ,that involves big decisions ??? What a BIG mistake !! We don't moke God.

I will like to add also one old citation from WT magazine November 1 1931, page 327 - "The Watchtower recognizes the truth as belonging to Jehovah, and not to any creature. The Watchtower is not the instrument of any man or set of men, nor is it published according to the whims of men. No man's opinion is expressed in The Watchtower."
