    Now I want to "Try This Thing" on my 6 Port. Just for the sound 😂. Have to order Versa Tuner

      Go for it! There will be settings where you can open both SSV valves, and bump the idle rpm to somewhere 1700rpm or higher

    I just got my first ported motor this is my first swap let alone first rotary car. If I were to turbo it along with the Bridgeport do I need a new ecu?

      It’s an 04 and a 6port as well.

      I'm not sure if the renesis is good for turbo applications. You can probably tune it with versa tuner, but You'll need some biger injectors aswell.

      Don’t turbo 13b-Renesis, will blow for sure. Trust.

    I love rx8 so much but in my country they put bmw engine on mazda rx8 and it makes it weak hp (among 100-160 i dont remember)

    does this damage the engine?

    • @TryThisThing

      Basically... yes. I would just recomment rebuilding it like it was stock. I did this just for the experiment.

    • @TryThisThing
      @TryThisThing  10 месяцев назад +1

      If you want to drive it normally, just rebuild the engine and dont do any bridgeport or anykind of porting. I only made this to prove that it can be done. But the engine soon blew an oil ring because of overheting. Make a clean build, inside and outside (these cars will get rare in a couple of years).

      @@TryThisThing the engine soon blew cause of bridgeport or just overheating

    • @TryThisThing
      @TryThisThing  7 месяцев назад

      @@samusjuice One oil seal failed due to overheating. Overheating was probably because of the bridgeport, because I didn't have those problems when it was stock.

      Bridgeport wouldnt cause overheating unless you compromised the water seals.

    Is this a 4-port Renesis? Did you follow the same tuning guides for the 6-port? Do the same settings apply? (Obviously the rpm limits etc will be different, but can you make the same changes to the AFR tables for example?)

    • @TryThisThing
      @TryThisThing  9 месяцев назад +1

      I only edited my stock maps just a little bit. Idle Rpm was set to somewhere 1800 and rpm limit was set to 9000. And I opened both ssv valves. Not much else actually.

      @@TryThisThing Did you run into any clicking noise issues with the SSV after porting? Also, did you notice any performance degradation with the SSV open in the lower RPM range? I have recently ported my engine but only did half-bridge for the higher range and have replaced the SSV but can't seem to clear out the noise.

    Without Brideport and just open SSV, VDI or APV will rx8 "Brap" ?

    • @paulkulaga6374
      @paulkulaga6374 8 месяцев назад

      No, if you want fake braps you have to adjust the timing at idle to raise the rpm then at a slightly higher rpm retard the timing so it goes back and forth making "braps"

    • @TryThisThing
      @TryThisThing  8 месяцев назад

      No. You need to port it
