I feel like at some point it's easier to write a program that just takes in the length/axle you want and then generate the relevant code so that the CPU is doing the repetitive task instead of consuming your sanity
haha I don't have any idea how to do real programming like procedural generation
@@fillman86 I mean like have a program that just take an input, say 4 (for 4 more axles) then substitute the codes of mesh and jbeam distance by 4*(a constant equal to length of an axle), repeat for suspension, wheels and whatnot. The program then print the code on a wordpad (with cout maybe? Idk I only have surface C++ knowledge) so you can just copy paste to Beamng.
I'm not a programmer so idk how hard it is to write a script like this. If you say it's too much then it's too much, don't mind my 1 minute toilet thought
@@cenakaze I think you underestimate the work that'd go into it, it'd probably take longer to make that
@@cenakazeits obviously possible, but rather it should export a modified jbeam file. But that would kinda ruin the point of the video which is him modding cars
@@dannuryou could probably use a modified version of the automation exporter, but I don't know if they would allow that.
When extending a body part, its better to copy a ring of vertices and do the same for the nodes, so it doesn't just s t r e t c h out the model and cause the floppy and jaggedness

You pushed me over the edge in wanting to 3D model a car. I am starting with an Automation mod body. I want to move up to a very nice and complex mod body after and then make an actual brand name car as close as I can to reality. I want to after that design my own car. I really like cars and this has started my journey. Thank you for creating just a fun and lighthearted as well as welcoming environment for your audience.
yeah, a few of the best rated mods on the repository are based on automation cars :) using automation for "blocking" is a good way to start getting into making your own 3D models :)
Seriously impressive that you managed to achieve this many wheels lol, the confusing drivetrains, duplicating wheels, attaching suspensions, it was an absolute nightmare when I made the behemoth.
lol the power was confusing, especially since they got rid of the mutlishaft for no reason, but I bodged something together, though it became so glitchy that it just stopped working eventually

I had an idea for the pigeon. Would a forward control pigeon be possible? Like have the cabin ahead of the front wheels? It would be like an actual kei truck then. I love your content!

@@noobonthetube Sort of. Forward control specifically refers to the seats being above or ahead of the front wheels. Cabovers can have the seats above or even behind the front wheels.

I really expected all the front wheels to be in a line.
I know it would be unusably long, but the idea of 2 rows of back wheels + 1 row of front wheels that both stretch insultingly far

You should make a mod that adds LED lightbars to cars (not the flashing type). Its present but only on the full-on offroad vehicles which is a bummer

Never did I think there was a limit to how many wheels can be added to a vehicle in BeamNG until now. Despite the issues you faced, I'm very surprised to see it drive...kinda 😅

I think you need to invest in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). It's totally worth it.
I've considered a ups in the past, but in my entire life it would have been useful twice... I think I'm fine with loosing footage instead :/

I'm surprised you're not using a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) as a RUclipsr. Power goes out, you stop and save your video, then safely power down.

well I did see a 6x6 but that was built for purpose, and I don't mod other people's mods because they can get incredibly sensitive about it
