This looks like it uses about 200 watts maximum which translates to ~17 amps at 12V. This sounds like a good match for those cheep-o chinese-quality (cough cough) 30A 12V power supplies that can be had for $20. It would also be a good match for two or three 100W solar panels to take up the slack in the daytime. I'm not saying it would be all that profitable, but you sure could learn/teach a thing or two running it that way. :-)
Bro you made so.many videos, atleast make one on how to set these up and also the g1 mini. Most of people are looking for that. Please do that if you can.
Nice review! Ordered one after watching, using your code (thanks!). I was GPU mining when everything was on fire but never had an asic so this will be a first. I get that it's not designed to get you rich but it'll be a cool experiment that won't give me four digit electric bills!
Hello. Before my Apollo can connect to my router, and I was wrong click reboot at web browser Apollo and my Apollo rebooted, and next my Apollo cant connect to my Router. What wrong? What must I do? Help me
Im curious as it lists 100 to 135 Mh/s for the Apollo. Is that a misprint or am i not interpreting it correctly? I currently have 6 Newpacs running at around 5 watts each and I am putting out 123 Gh/s (according to slushpool and cgminer). Each Newpac has 2 asics so thatis 12 total. I cant find any reference to number or type of chips in the Apollo. I would love to get one, but not if my USBs are outperforming it for half the cost.
Bro I just got one from the second batch after realizing building a gpu rig is out of my $league. Thank god you like it I know it legit. I’ll keep studying and saving and will build a full rig later but am so excited to get started
This piqued my interest at first because I liked the idea...but it started to look more and more like someone trying to upcycle a dated asic...I like the low power and the decentralization bit...but would have been super stoked if it were half the price and or if it mined an algo other than scrypt to access a wider range of coins
mine just came in and i set up f2pool for litecoin its told me how many ive accepted but how does it get into my wallet ? been trying to reaserch for hours
Very interested in this, what kind of profitably does it produce for Litecoin? I didn’t hear it mentioned in the video? Could it be used to mine BTC or ETH?
uhhhhh, the board looks like a rebranded single Innosilicon board in a box... and magically the exact same specs... the more I compare and see the similarities, this basically looks like a rebranded single card, it overlaps on everything...
Hope I could find one here in the Philippines. But the question is will it be profitable here in my country since electricity is very expensive here not unless this miner would combat that. Less power consumption + earn passively + worth for 💰 + availability of the product. I'll look forward for this.
its a very nice package. if it were $100 or $129, it could be a educational tool. $299 is just crazy - you could get 3 L3+ on eBay with a hash rate minimum of 1.5 Ghash
I was thinking of buying a power supply station and use it to power this miner. My friend had a solar power set up and doesnt mind letting me charge up my power station there. Do you think it will work with this miner? How many watts should I get it?
ignore me lol Ive been ancy to buy myself my first miner aha so needless to say I hadnt watched the whole video yet I would appreciate your input SOOOO much though.. I have a little bit of loot to spend at this moment and I'd like to buy a rig! What would you recommend as far as my first rig? Im not worried about the tech in terms of getting it running, I'm mainly just looking for the highest earning and the most realistic to be indoor.. I mean our home isn't small but like you said, that whole GF approval factor is a real thing lol However, she likes to spend money more than she likes to complain about my projects so... I have that going for myself lol. Also, what are your opinions on USB miners? More specifically, setting up quite a few of em at once?
Thanks for finally covering this miner. My group suggested setting up a node on this miner at the LTC Summit. John said he was already on it and that future upgrades for this miner will be coming down the pipe. What I want to know is how he managed to pull 100mh/s at 100w out of 28nm chips? I want to know if there is a ASIC boost for scrypt miners..
What are some decent mining pools for solo mining now a days if any ? I have recently got into mining and decided to try out the Apollo Miner Batch 2 model recently but the default mining address for that miner is now dead.....
While I admire the ideals presented by this asic, I still firmly believe mining should be done by personal computers as it is multi use hardware. A new large drop from Bitmain or another ASIC manufacturer could turn this product into outright e-waste quite quickly, but a GPU or CPU can be used to do other things if it's no longer reasonable to mine with. Thereby pushing off the inevitability of the e-waste problem a bit longer.
One concerning thing for me is my slow upload speed. Is there a way to turn the node off if it wrecks havoc on my upload bandwidth? DSL has horrible upload and if it makes out, your download bandwidth is basically 0.
I wanted one, but couldn't get one on time, I really like how Futurebit thinks about the efficiency of getting the most MH/W ltc1 qyd0 3k4l ltze 4k3q0 45j4 urcz 396g sjws 7tk3ut
WOW! as someone who mines with ASICs currently, this is the answer to all my problems. Something discreet that allows me contribute to the mining side of the litecoin ecosystem WITHOUT making me devote a whole floor of my house to it. That thing seems quieter than my roomba lol would love to give it a try. M97fztDuS5QC6qed8bdZyD6sPD9pZFnbfQ
Great video as always. I like this miner for what it is. Like you said, you aren't going to get rich , but it is a great little miner. I am not found of asic's but this one would get my vote. It is a great way to introduce someone to crypto, and I think thats it's greatest asset to the community. Thank you so much for what you do.
I notice its not on any of the mining profitability calc. sites, to get the data on the ROI, if I recall pool mining still better than solo mining, not sure if folks want to pay between 300 to 600 dollars to be a node on the network, and with crypto prices down, I also notice no current reviews on it.
Very helpful, i was just looking for a Litecoin miner to run at home but was concerned about the noise. This seems to solve the problem. Thanks VoskCoin
Hello love your vids and I have a few questions about building a new 24 gpu rig and as I am new I am looking for things I need to start , I am thinking of using the rtx 2080 to as a base
if you speak english i speak spanish, google traductore, yo he usado un baikal cube 300mhs y es multialgoritmo y la verda me ha gustado es facil de usar y configurar y solo consume 90w y por momentos no genera ganancias pero hay momentos que si sube a ganar 1 por dia o sea para la cantidad de energia que consume es bueno por ejemplo me daba 300 doges al dia y consumia 90w porque es multialgoritmo y me costo 300 con todo y envio entonces si haces cuentas uno a otro sale mejor el baikal pienso yo ahora en estetica es mejor el apollo pero en ganancias no creo que deje muchas ganancias ya que la dificultad y el precio de ltc esta bajo y dificil de minar
Well it’s an interesting concept I think it hits a lot of pluses but I think there’s a few minuses one thing that stands out for me though that I think about is that since it’s a Wallet to if someone from the company would have some sort of access to grab all your lake queen and just deposit it somewhere else I could see that being a possibility maybe that would concern me a little bit
I just found out I can mine neoscrypt with this. The performance isn’t great as my GPU because they had a different difficulty. As long as I can mined neoscrypt coins continuously without my PC then it’s cool.
There is a pool that doesn’t require registration. They just need your wallet address and a tag so the network know which coin it belongs to. For example -pool (neoscrypt server:port) -wal (Einsteinium wallet) -p c=EMC I don’t know how but it just work. I wish I can say more without fears they end up patching it. seems like a great deal losing more money than youll end up paying for it.
Not everything is about getting rich, that was never the goal of this device.
This aged well lol
