      God exists, creation bears witness to it, but sin separates us from Him, and we sin, and deserve the hell, that is why He sent His Son Christ to live a Holy life, die on a Cross paying the penalty for our sins, saving His chosen ones of condemnation, dark powers and curses, reconciling us with God only by Faith in Jesus and His Sacrifice, *not by works,* so that no one can boast, Giving us Eternal Life, God bless you. Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit

      James Brincefield Yeah I can say the same thing my friend! I just don't get the point why remake a movie that has 11 Oscars already...Just respect the legacy and the epicness of it! I don't get Hollywood sometimes...

      +James Brincefield Haha totally agree with you on that! Sometimes I think hollywood is like youtube....RUclipsrs try to make these "prank" videos or "social experiments" in order to get money....And other people just recycle them and recycle all over again...With Hollywood is the exact same thing....They think their movie will be successful and that it would like top in box office...But eventually it would simply not....Just for example, Gods of Egypt....God was shiitt film!!

    I've watched it about few times I think. It's a very long film but it's still worth watching. It's absolutely brilliant. The acting is fantastic especially from Charlton Heston himself. It's probably one of the best 1950s films of all time. It never gets old and it will always be a timeless classic.
    I have it on DVD 📀 by the way.

      General Lew Wallace (the author of Ben-Hur) also fought an expert delaying action at Monocacy Creek against Confederate General Jubal Early's advance on Washington DC in 1864. It gave the city time to prepare for the attack and for General Grant to rush re-enforcements. A fine bit of soldiering.

      I truly hope your mind will change. He loves you so freaking much. The Bible says that one day…every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is lord and savior. On that day….even if people chose not to love Him in return…they will still bow. But it will be too late. The scariest/saddest verse in the Bible is when God looks at the ones who refused to accept His love and says “Depart from me, I never knew you”
      People often say “how could a loving God send someone to hell?” . He doesn’t. He doesn’t send people to hell, they send themselves. He makes it clear that if you confess with your mouth of Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart, God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. You’ll spend eternity with him. And it’s gonna be so freaking amazing. the beauty and glory of heaven and all its colors and sound and light and peace and joy, without a trace of fear or sadness….. going on picnics and swimming and worshiping and hanging out with friends and family! And oh my goodness, the mountains and trees and rivers and seeing earth, how it was intended to be! No trace of sadness no trace of pain, just love and joy, forever and ever. We get to explore everything he created. I can’t wait to go on hikes and float down a beautiful river…not worrying about bugs or animals or weather! I can’t wait to taste all the incredible foods and listen to the amazing music! I can’t wait to meet all the men and women from the Bible! I can’t wait to see my grandparents! But most of all….I’m looking forward to hugging 2 people and not letting go for years. The first is Jesus. Oh my goodness I can’t imagine how that will feel! The second is my daughter who went to heaven in 2014 when she was 9. Jesus is coming soon and I’m SO EXCITED!
      Heaven is the most incredible amazing unfathomable place, and I get to stay there for eternity! All those who believe that Jesus died for their sins and ask for forgiveness and love him…will spend forever with him! He asks nothing of us except for us to return his love.
      But, he does not force people to love him. It’s their choice and some people choose not to. He did not make robots. He made man with a free will to choose his own destiny.
      And for those who turn their back on him, for those that choose the world and all the temporary earthly crap….for those who are too angry or stubborn or full of pride and choose not to love him back for whatever reason, will not spend eternity in heaven with him. Instead, they will spend eternity doing exactly what they wanted, which was to be away from God.
      They will be away from their creator like they wanted , and they will spend eternity in agony and regret and fear and pain all because they refused to believe the only truth that matters
      I pray you change your mind and fall in love with Jesus because he’s already in love with you. He loved you first.

      Ben-hur was shot on 65mm stock. There's no way to match the vibrancy of 65 with digital. I've actually worked with and seen 65mm stock and negative along with 15 perf 70mm imax print. They're absolutely amazing. Too bad film is nearly extinct.

    • @tatehildyard5332
      @tatehildyard5332 6 лет назад +1

      I would definitely not say a lot, and definitely not the biggest movies. However, yes, there are still movies shot on real film. I believe Dunkirk was shot on 65mm. I'm no longer in the film industry, but my father lives and breathes it. He would know more than I do with which movies were shot on film stock.

      +Phillip Arpin Film has been making a comeback. Filming movies digitally was a trend from the 2000's, but that seems to be dying off since the quality of many movies filmed digitally 15 years ago are stuck at a resolution of 1080p which is a problem now that 4K is becoming the new big thing. Star Wars The Force Awakens, Mad Max Fury Road, and all of Christopher Nolan's films were filmed using actual film.

    Crazy that this is a 50's movie. Granted, it was a late 50's movie and looks more like a 60's movie, but 50's nonetheless. It doesn't even look like a 50's or 60s movie. It looks more like a 70's movie AT LEAST but more like an 80's film. It held up pretty well and looked unbelievable for its time, and even now. Really a cinematic breakthrough, IMO.

    • @Venckman
      @Venckman 8 лет назад +1

      Saw it on the big screen, and I'll tell you, it holds up beautifully. The sea battle scenes are slightly dated with the model work, but are still exciting because of the human drama. Easy to overlook. The rest of it is just glorious. The chariot race is unlike any action sequence I've ever seen in a theater. Extraordinarily intense.

    • @thevarietybros2486
      @thevarietybros2486 8 лет назад +2

      Wow. Someone who saw it on the big screen thinks that it held up as well. Even by today's standards, this film still looks great and barely any of it looks dated. And trust me it looks even better on Blu-Ray. The chariot race was incredibly glorious and like you said, it has held up beautifully, even by today's standards. It definitely compares with today's movies and I think that it is insane that a movie from the 50's looks like a big-budget Hollywood action film. It is also crazy that some more recent 80's movies are cheesy and didn't really hold up, while some from the 50's has held up really well. That's why it is such a classic.

    • @lw3646
      @lw3646 9 месяцев назад

      Totally agree, compare to a film like Quo Vadis, in Ben Hur they really toned down the super bright lighting you normally get in these epics. Some of the night scenes specially lit with just the minimal lighting on the character of Esther has influenced so many directors first since. The chariot race is also a masterpiece of editing, stuntwork and cinematography.

    I had to watch this trailer to wash the travesty of CGI mediocrity of the new 2016 trailer from my eyes. Still one of my favorite movies of all time and the very definition of epic!

    The music is not correct.... But this is clearly edited as if it's a modern film Trailer and modern movie trailers rarely have music from the movie's OST. So I disagree with the other commentators, I liked it alot. It's a trailer, it's not meant to have the exact music from the film. It's meant to tease you into watching the film then getting to hear the movie's score.

    Love it or loathe it, this a Hollywood Bible epic at its most epic biblical and Hollywood; Vast, sprawling, opulent, dramatic, apocalyptic, over acted and over-the-top. Magnificent

    I may not be religious, but this was amazing to watch for the first time, and no, I never saw the remake. Also, watching this the day after watching The Greatest Story Ever Told almost felt like watching similar events unfold but through someone else's point of view. I kept imagining Max von Sydow as Jesus.

      Good joke. I went and watched the remake with my gf the other night and then we came home and watched this old one and the remake absolutely SHITS all over this cheesy, cardboard acting garbage old movie.
      No offense, but stop trying to be part of the "cool nostalgia club"; the 1959 one was really bad by today's standards.
