Alissa was a guest vocalist for the band "Kamelot" in Sept-Oct 2012 when they were the supporting act for Nightwish's North American tour on the fateful day that Nightwish's then lead singer Anette Olzon was taken to the hospital with the flu. Instead of cancelling the show Alissa & fellow guest vocalist Elize Ryd ("Ameranthe"), stepped in and saved the day! This however led to a break with Anette with Floor replacing her on tour. The rest is history.

Alissa is one vocalist I have seen live, except I first saw her live with her previous band The Agonist...and that was back in 2010. You won’t really hear her sing much in Arch Enemy, but she did sing more in The Agonist. And she definitely can sing. Speaking of The Agonist, that’s one for the list 👍🏻 they have a new vocalist named Vicky and she’s also quite good. They have a new song out called “In Vertigo”.
Like Tatiana of Jinjer Alyssa is not a 1-trick-pony. She actually has a very good singing voice, which she also has used in colaboration with other bands. I believe she uses it on newer material? Never mind… If you hasnt seen the Nightwish documentary which was recorded on the tour they fired Anette and hired Floor. You will see a concert they held the day Anette was sent to the hospital. Here Alyssa and Elize Ryd stepping in for her in a scaled down event.

however said Wacken would be speeled like that A: is not a german or. b. never got it right. Maybe the person things it stempt from the germen word (er)wachen which can be translated to woken (up), but Wacken is a village where the Festival is located. no fancy background, just a name of a small town in northern germany.
She does have a great singing voice. She was with Kamelot when she filled in for annet in Nightwish the day she missed the (now infamous ) Denver show.
Previous vocalist was much better (personal opinion). Please do a reaction to Judas Priest - Painkiller. I know the dad will love it, curious bout the daughter :)
A lot of people that love symphonic metal know Anneke van Giersbergen. This year marks Anneke’s 25th anniversary as a recording artist. She was the lead singer for the Dutch band The Gathering, worked with Devin Townsend, Ayreon and many, many, more. Anneke was (and still is with her new band VUUR) unique as a ‘metal singer’. Devin and Anneke always sound amazing together. Devin is a vocal giant of course and the way Anneke did the last part of this version of 'Numbered' (the main part of the last minute of the song) is just out of this world. ‘Numbered’: ruclips.net/video/1anXoA2-TII/видео.html
Alyssa was so much better in The Agonist. She switched between distorted/growls and clean singing in that band. She got more famous from this band, however.
Also, cool story here: Alissa wasn't a Metalhead when The Agonist formed in 2004, and she said, in response to a query from one of her band mates during one of their first practices about whether she could scream or not, that she couldn't (as she hadn't heard that vocal style before), and so the guy recommended she check out Arch Enemy's "Wages Of Sin". This was the first Metal album she ever bought and listened to, and was so blown by Angela Gossow, that she decided to try on harsh vox herself.
@@MrJordwalk that's not true. Alissa was already a metalhead but she didn't plan to be a singer. Her older sister is also a metalhead. She did sing for band before the agonists.
Nooo, you have to do the previous vocalists versions from Tokyo, Blood on your hands. That's an amazing song, and also We Will Rise + Fields Of Desolation (Live Tyrants of the Rising Sun). I love this version a lot.
I don‘t think you can pick a wrong song for the reaction to Within Temptation actually because Sharon‘s voice is more or less what makes their sound! 😊
The list is one person's opinion. Doro did a song with Floor in 2007. The album version of After Forever - Who I Am Alyssa has very good clean vocals too. You can hear them with her original band The Agonist.
Melodic death metal is more about melodic elements in the instrumentals and not the vocals. But thats an aspect too but generally it's pure death vocals with melodic parts in the music. Angela Gossow is currently the manager of the band. Btw Alissa happens to be close friends with Floor Jansen too and Elize Ryd (lead singer in the band Amaranthe).
12:25...Yes. If you want to know how badass Angela is do Arch Enemy 'Ravenous' or 'Nemesis' or 'Dead eyes see no future' or 'Shadows and dust' live Japan 2008
As a future project, should check out Woods of Ypres (originating from Ontario), their album Grey Skies and Electric Lights won a Juno. Sad story about the demise of the band, following their singer David Gold's passing.
I heard he is back making music, Tommy Karevik Posted a Photo with him on Facebook saying something like that and that likes how Roy is proud of the band.
You definitely should react to Kamelot Liar Liar and I will continue to request Dimmu Borgir as well. If you react to Within Temptation I highly recommend Mother Earth with Orchestra. When you want to see Floor Jansen Revamp Wild Card will blow your mind and of course Neuristhenia with Devin Townsend is amazing as well.
I love Arch Enemy and I'm not sure why they switched vocalists, but i loved Alyssa in her previous band The Agonist. I think they were perfect together but she is definitely a great addition to Arch Enemy, too. Check out The Agonist play 'The Mass of the Earth' to hear some clean vocals from Alyssa.

#WoodsOfYpres - Adora Vivos (Windsor)
#BeyondCreation - The Afterlife (Montreal)
#Annihilator - Alison Hell (Ottawa)
Thanks! I was not familiar with any of these!
please try arch enemy i am legend, out for blood still with Angela Gossow
We Arise by Arch Enemy
Great Reaction, When I first found Arch Enemy, I couldn't believe a growl like that could come out of her, Instantly fell in love with her and her voice. LMAO 😂
If you wanna hear her sing clean check out her old band The Agonist - Panaphobia
Theyre swedish too... right? Or am I mixing shit up?
Or was that The Antagonist? Shiet Im getting myself confused
She a leading female heavy metal singers
The agonist - business suits and combat boots , thank you pain , their eulogies sang me to sleep
love all those songs
Alissa was a guest vocalist for the band "Kamelot" in Sept-Oct 2012 when they were the supporting act for Nightwish's North American tour on the fateful day that Nightwish's then lead singer Anette Olzon was taken to the hospital with the flu. Instead of cancelling the show Alissa & fellow guest vocalist Elize Ryd ("Ameranthe"), stepped in and saved the day! This however led to a break with Anette with Floor replacing her on tour. The rest is history.
Do Liar Liar from Kamelot. It is ft. Alissa White-Gluz and you will here her clear voice as well
I can add a couple of bands for MMM:
Infected Rain - they are Jinjer-like in style, including the singer. Recommended songs - Orphan Soul, Enslaved By A Dream, Mold, Serendipity
A Sound Of Thunder - they are Progressive Power metal - more like Unleash the Archers at times. Recommended songs - Udoroth, Murderous Horde, Queen Of Hell, Lifebringer for the Power part and Elijah, Time's Arrow, The Nightwitch for the Progressive part.
I love Infected Rain! They got a new album coming out.
Please do "the day that the world breaks down" by Ayreon, an epic project, 11 different singers (Floor and Simone included) and lots of amazing musicians
It's been 5 months are you guys done posting videos, hope everything's all right
Arch Enemy is just a super nice Band. I love their songs, listening them when i try to sleep. xD
Me too!
She was in a band called the Agonist from canada before Arch. She does this vocals and sings. Check out Thank you pain or business suits and combat boots.
Arch Enemy (Angela Gossow) - Nemesis. 2008. (Japan)
Awesome performance!
Do "We Will Rise" with Angela, funny you mention that certain singers don't look like they'd be able to sound the way they do - with Angela what you see is what you get. Very distinct voice.
Swedens Arch Enemy 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
0:45 There is an awesome metal band from Quebec (Quebec City, I think) called Aeternam. Aeternam sounds very middle-eastern, I think partly because the singer/lead guitarist was born/raised in Morocco I believe.
#Aeternam - Damascus Gate (official video)
Thanks!
Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior TOOL?
Right in Two pplleeaassee
Amen Church
They need to put that album out soon
Doro is from an old school singer from 80’s which would be another one that you could do on school or maiden
Great choice. Maybe try something like The Agonist for metal maiden Monday.
They could take at look at Alissa's previous work - something like Panophobia
@@pauljh74 Second that.
Thanks!
Kataklysm, death metal band from montreal, quebec.
Ahhh love Kataklysm! Throne of Sorrow is one of my favourites.
Here Alyssa and Elize Ryd stepping in for her in a scaled down event.
arch enemy -the world is yours or type o negative - wolf moon
yes!! you just made my day with this reaction video! keep up the great work!
so you mentioned corpsegrinder, does that mean a cannibal corpse reaction is coming?
Cannibal corpse is probably my fav band, saw them live two days ago! it was awesome \m/
Maybe... I had Butchered at birth back in the day. Might be good to react to some of their newer stuff.
ChemicalReactions! oh thats cool! yea the new stuff is pretty awesome
I've got a Canadian band you could react to at some point. There's called 3 Inches Of Blood. They're very melodic and the vocalists are really good.
Jeremy Tassin YESSSSSSS
I was I that crowd (albeit very drunk haha). Travelled all the way from Australia for it 👌🏻
Wow!
Avatar - Bloody Angel please react to this gr8 song
Angela is the most adorable tiny beast on stage. Her stage presence comes naturally.
Totally. Agree.
however said Wacken would be speeled like that A: is not a german or. b. never got it right.
Maybe the person things it stempt from the germen word (er)wachen which can be translated to woken (up), but Wacken is a village where the Festival is located. no fancy background, just a name of a small town in northern germany.
DORO is in world stage 35 years. She is Germany bands and now solo artist.
Doro & Udo - Dancing with an angel deserves a reaction👍
You should check out Alyssa in her previous band. The Agonist...I would recommend the song Panaphobia
The Agonist latest single post-Alyssa is pretty good too.
@@mormacil absolutely. Vicki is an amazing vocalist.
Oh yeah she does great stuff just her live stuff was meh. I mean you always like quiet and timid next to korpiklaani but still.
Please listen to her former band, when she was there The Agonist - Panaphobia :D Thats what you are looking for!
Even the new singer for The Agonist is good
Arch Enemy is Badass! Great reaction guy's. Keep it up. 🤘🤘🤘
The band is great but they would be my fav if they actually had some singing,Alissa has awesome vocal abilities they need to be unleashed
C.O.D.!! for life!
C.O.D.💀
🤘🏽🤘🏽
\m/ 😝 \m/
Would like you to consider Lizzy Hale from Halestorm for MMM.
Thanks again for a great reaction 💀 happy holidays from the UK
Do you have a favorite from Halestorm?
"I Miss The Misery"
There's something about her voice that produces not only goosebumps but also tears of pure happiness 😂
I miss the misery is pretty good but I also like Freak like me.
I mean Gatekeeper is a bit obscure and different or Restless.
The list is one person's opinion. Doro did a song with Floor in 2007. The album version of After Forever - Who I Am
Alyssa has very good clean vocals too. You can hear them with her original band The Agonist.
Yep, one person's opinion. To be taken with a grain of salt.
"Melodic Death Metal" generally refers more to the guitars being melodic than it does the vocals.
Alissa is just missing the sheer power that Angela had.
Seen Angela live and she's just plain amazing.
Angela Gassow is the true Arch Enemy for Nemesis! Blood On My Hands is another great AE track!
Alyssa sounds horrible!! Ugh....
Check the original music video with Angela...she's insane!
You should react to Behemoth, In Flames, Korn and Gojira...would be nice
Check out our reaction to L'Enfant Sauvage from a few weeks back. It was badass.
@@ChemicalReactions will do \m/
Angela is even better live in the Japan show.
12:25...Yes. If you want to know how badass Angela is do Arch Enemy 'Ravenous' or 'Nemesis' or 'Dead eyes see no future' or 'Shadows and dust' live Japan 2008
Please let your daughter hear Heartwork by Carcass.
I always felt that Heartwork was Carcass going mainstream. Their greatest album IMHO was Necroticism... DTI
@@ChemicalReactions Yes definitely more mainstream.
...but also faster.
I would like to add my name to the Circle of DEATH~!!
C.O.D.💀
🤘🏽🤘🏽
@@Raul-vl7ly Raul is keeping a registry!
pls do next Nightwish - The Greatest Show On Earth
As a future project, should check out Woods of Ypres (originating from Ontario), their album Grey Skies and Electric Lights won a Juno. Sad story about the demise of the band, following their singer David Gold's passing.
Do yourself a favor and react to Kamelot - Elisabeth part 1-3 live. Roy khan is just crazy good :D
I heard he is back making music, Tommy Karevik Posted a Photo with him on Facebook saying something like that and that likes how Roy is proud of the band.
Micheal Amott was actually born in England, but is of Swedish origin! Watched Arch Enemy live in Singapore and they were absolutely flawless!
Sharavana Raj Maruthiah Check out his Wikipedia fact or fiction interview.
Sharavana Raj Maruthiah Check out his Wikipedia fact or fiction interview.
*Please react to : Nightwish -- "Romanticide" [Wacken 2013]*
You definitely should react to Kamelot Liar Liar and I will continue to request Dimmu Borgir as well. If you react to Within Temptation I highly recommend Mother Earth with Orchestra.
When you want to see Floor Jansen Revamp Wild Card will blow your mind and of course Neuristhenia with Devin Townsend is amazing as well.
Would love to see a reaction to Alice in Chains! ✌✌✌Rooster, Rain When I Die, or Would? to name a few
Almost 10K!
Almost! Time to invite your friends!
