It seems as though the whole Pro/Pro Tour Peloton has a great amount of respect and sportsmanship for each other nowadays, with the possible exception of the sprinters, and only then when one does some last 300 meters 'shenanigans' resulting in a devastating crash, or major loss of position. Even then, the ill will does not seem to last for very long after the incident. :)
Ha I love it - the washing machine on in the background #keepinitreal. I thought it was mine until I paused the video. Victor you are a pleasure to watch in races and I love how you spice things up. You are definitely in my fantasy cycling squad (with me for GC obviously lol)
Top sportsmanship right there. No one can take away the fact you held the 1hr record. If it stands for 100 years or gets beaten tomorrow you always held it. Chapeau
THIS is exactly what EVERY holder of this record (and even the 4K pursuit record as well) should hold as having accomplished something exceptional! :) That is the funny thing about records, they exist to be BROKEN, as human physiological tech, and equipment tech marches on. ;)
Mir. Victor Campenaerts First of all allow me to say that your RUclips Channel is great, it is always awesome to learn from the true masters of cycling, I even had a stole some ideas here and there, so... Thank you! Second, I would like you to know that you are a class act yourself, this kind of honesty about one's job is difficult to achieve. And last, but not least, you should know that no matter what happens tomorrow, your record has been a true inspiration for many of us, sure helped me to recover from a serious crash and lead me to a full recovery. Your dedication and your passion are things to admire. Records come and go, but passion lingers in peoples hearts forever! Cheers!
Fantastic video Mr Campanaerts. Do you ever watch Chris Horner's Butterfly effect. He had great respect for you and all your entertaining cycling. I can see that you have the heart of a true champion to hope for success in others above your own self interest. Well done Mr Campanaerts.
He can and will. I also that you and every other 1hour record holder will be willing him on as true champions want to see success. Total respect to you victor, the work you do for your team is amazing even if you have lost some of your TT abilities.
You said you lost some of your tt abilities but I think it's still amazing. Like national championships, 20 sec behind Evenepoel and 40 sec behind Lampaert - very stiff competition and that after the unfortunate ending in Tour of Belgium. It's a really good performance. TT in the Benelux Tour was great too. I On top of these good tt results there is all the great results in other races, like worlds, Benelux gc, Euros..and all of these great attacks in Le Samyn, the giro and so on ..too many to count. Wow, Victor! That was one hell of a season. Huge respect from my side. Wish you the best for next season.
Nice to see you back Victor. It will be interesting on the 3/11. You're right new rules and changes. Are you sure you wouldn't go for the record one day again? You and Alex could push it further!
Think the only person that could potentially break it is Ganna, but would require 3 months prep which don't think he has! Your record is safe for a while 👍 And thank you Victor for doing video in English 👌
My flash and mass kudos to Campenaerts that 55km is a significant jump that'll take a while to break with everyone on aero everything, it was an impressive finishing 20min, I was controlled screaming. Dowset seemed a tad off, shown by how he faded to still a very respectable time, a 56-12 perhaps a better match on the day for his legs all hindsights. Cheers, 4 beers all I can handle 🍺🍺🍺🍺
how much high aktitude has an effect in hour record performance? Or, put differently, do you reckon you would have broken Wiggo's record if done at sea level?
Except that no one can EVER take that VICTORY of actually setting the record away from you, like can be done for a TT stage, or even the WHOLE tour, for just losing said TT. ;)
@@LS1conehead Well said! Victor definitely shows his class as a sportsman in this video though, as he does on the road! ... just realised, I don't have enough beer left to watch Alex's attempt :-(
@@troycollett8540 I'd even love to see more Pro Tour riders riding the pursuit event at the Worlds, but given when that takes place, it would mess up their early season classics, and later tours training too much, I guess?
You are a great sportsman for also cheering Alex up!

Hi Victor, your transition from a TT guy to more of a classics rider has been impressive. It has been a pleasure to watch you racing this season.
Great to see true sportsmanship still exists - respect to Victor and good luck to Alex.
You are both champs in your own moments

True professionals. Big respect from Brazil. 👏👏👏
You’re a top man - chapeau for the good wishes to a fellow competitor.
Campenaerts is a cycling powerhouse... but also a real human being and a fan of the sport. Massiv respect!
Come back to youtube video Victor!
Ah Victor, you're a real gentleman and nice of you to offer support to a rival.
Good to see you back Victor. Great thoughts and words in Alex's attempt!

Victor and Alex two very classy peas in a TT pod. Best of luck with your new team next year 💪💪
Nice one Victor, great to see you again!
very classy Victor. A true sportsman 👊🏼
Great video. Great sportsman. Really enjoyed hearing your insight!
Thanks for posting this Victor!
Pure class from Victor here. Chapeau.
True soldier. Thank you.
Massive respect ✊
Great guy are, Victor! Cheers from Kiel, Ian (Ma-13 connection)
Is that Fromey on a Hometrainer or your washing machine in the background?
I thought that was in my house!
Fromey on a hometrainer is a far better answer
So that's how Obree got the idea
Washing machine. I’m sitting here tripping out thinking who turned on my washing machine? 😂
Welcome back Victor!
Spot on, Victor. Cheers.
Great comments my friend a true sportsman, respect….
love the respect and sportsmanship, also, good to see you got the washing on.
A really fair and interesting video. Thanks 🙏
A true sportsman.
Didn't realize you had a channel love it keep it up
Good sporting spirit👍🏻
A big classic for you next Spring on the cobbles!
Bravo!
What a champion
10 minutes listening to the washing machine! 😂 Great insight thanks VC
Bravo Victor.
Great video, Vic! I shall have some Belgian fries and beer in on 3/11 to celebrate with you. I may even have mayonnaise instead of salt and vinegar
fair play Victor, top video
Great video and exemplary sporting attitude! I'm a big fan and really respect you as a pro. Keep up the great work.

If Ganna goes for it, it will last for while..
My man !
Respect :)
Every record needs to be broken. I am in team Alex.
Respect Victor
Guys is either doing laundry, or there is a chopper waiting for him outside
classy!
Am I the only one hearing a washing machine on the background?
I am sorry. Every now and then... I have to wash my clothing😉 I will keep it in mind for the next vid!
@@vocsnor no worries man! It's only because distracts a little bit 😉
Nah man, thats Victors smart trainer spinning down from his recent ftp test.
@@MrBusunglueck 😆
it's not the washing machine, it's Graeme Obree riding his hour bike made from washing machine parts !
Can't believe this wasn't an announcement for a 04/11 attempt by VC ;)
correct me if I'm wrong, but the spin of the washing machine can be heard in the background
Good luck with your 'new' team Victor. All the best to Alex too! No offence intended....you can also have another attempt if he's successful 😀
👍My.man Victor
that dryer machine makes bzzzzzzz )))

What do you think about aguascalientes?
‘The turd of November’ 🤣
Will you both be rooting for Ganna's attempt next year? We need more hour record attempts.
I believe Ganna is doing it in Italy next year, he will have a derny riding 10 metres infront of him to make it camparable to his usuall tt wins !

Fantastic video Victor!! Nice to hear all of your opinions!! Honest man!! Just One question….. does a world hr record breaker get €€€s for doing so???
Maybe not direct “price money” but for sure by breaking the hour record you’ll have better sponsorship, publicity, etc.
Come on! Tuck in that watch band! It’s at least worth 3 watts! 😀😆
👍👍
What is that noise in the background?! It sounds like an airplane engine. Or a space-age tea kettle.
It’s about time
I have a feeling he won't break it
I have a feeling he will give it good shake
Washings done 👍
Washing machine in the background 😂
Didn't Wiggo say that he he expects his record to stand for a very long time?
Apparently Ganna might be having a go
The more the merrier! It's about time this record regained it's former status and glory!!

Alex looks a fair bit bigger than Victor yet only needs anotjer 10W to beat him according to Alex's hour record team, hmm
I didn't hear a thing he said because I was too focused on the fact his watch was not fastened properly, I actually turned off the next time I saw it.
