I have not personally fished with this reel yet so I could not say for sure but I think if you were not super hard on it and not doing a lot of reeling against the drag with the motor it would probably handle it okay
Would consider it for a bouy rod when daytime swording but you’d probably be pushing the limits with like capacity to use it as a the primary rod when fishing deeper particularly if the current is strong
Tom Slater, one of the nicest blokes, good on you for representing Australia on the biggest stage in the world
Thanks for the kind words Rob!
Jamie do you think it could be used for high speed trolling in the Bahamas? Burned the motor up on the previous model trying

What's the recommended line in that bad boy? Was thinking of getting the 1000, until I seen this..maybe I should wait..
Or I should say what's the capacity of line
Not sure on line capacity but it will definitely hold a good amount of 65 to 80 lb braid
@@fishbluewater thx for the reply..still debating🤙
I bought 2 Tanacom 1200 for deep Yellow fin tuna,Ahi, will let you know how she performs
Sounds great!
Sounds good!
Well how’s it working out?
Can it handle sword fish up to 150kgs?
Do the tanacom reel come in left hand model ?
Good question. Not sure. Try checking with your local tackle shop or check the daiwa website
Do you think it’s beefed up enough for the occasional daytime sword trip, Maybe 3-4 times a year?

Couldn't find any option for jigging features in manual for this reel at all.
Probably because it was not intended for that. It’s a a big reel for jigging
Is the speed adjustable on that 1200?
Yes it is
Can it handle giant bluefin
Negative
It would be a good reel for Pacific bluefin tuna fishing at night with a knife or flat fall jig which can be physically brutal. 🎣
Poor man version of Daiwa Marine Power 3000 😅
