  • The finest electric reel in the sportfishing market just so happens to be manufactured in my home town of Pompano Beach! Lindgren-Pitman was founded in 1975 by Peter Lindgren and John Pitman in a 375 square foot warehouse. Over the past 47 years, Lindgren-Pitman, or LP as they are known, has been an innovator of a wide variety of fishing equipment and products used across many different segments of the fishing industry. In the recreational fishing industry today, they are most well known for their state of the art electric fishing reels - the S2-1200, SV-1200 and SV-2400. Available in a 12-volt or 24-volt configuration, to put it plainly, there is no other heavy duty electric reel on the market that compares to the LP S-series electric reels. While the price tag is noted, it's like the old saying goes....'You get what you pay for' and the LP reel is well worth the price of admission!
I have personally owned one of the original model S-1200 reels for the better part of 10 years and had ZERO issues with it. With the new 'variable speed' SV-1200 on the way I was super excited to swing by their factory and get a first hand education on the brilliant 'American Made' engineering that goes into these incredible reels! This is part one of a 3-part video series where we take you behind the scenes to learn how the reels are manufactured, on to getting the reel spooled up and ready for action, and finally getting it offshore to test out the new variable speed reel with LP Engineer and swordfish guru, Tim Pickett!
And the last piece of good news! GIVEAWAY ALERT!! To celebrate crossing the 5K subscriber mark on our channel, we are giving away some really cool stuff in two separate contests! I dont get how so many guys like hooker electric over LP....i own both and yes the hooker is faster, its a toy compared to the workhorse LP. No comparison in my book.

Amazing Reels....BUT ! this company have "cero" customer service after purchase, I do have 3 old LP reels with bad motors, they wont sell me a new motor, they told me they do not sell any spare parts from old models because they want customers to buy the new reel models...... so be aware of this before you buy.....

why? no need for such over priced monster reels. but then i guess yanks can not do stand up fishing. so is the reason they use them reels...

Come down and hand crank a 300 pound swordfish off the bottom in 1800 feet and then let me know how many times you’re gonna do that by hand

It's for commercial fishing. Not leisure fishing. We yank out swordfish and the like on crank reels everyday. Keep your inner weakness across the pond.
