    Just bought a used 915D2 two weeks ago with a diamana D+ 72 stiff shaft and it is just a superb driver. I love the accuracy and the sound + it is really suuuuuuuper easy to hit. My go to Driver this season - we will see what happens =)

      What is the loft? Just bought 915 D2 9.5 with Tour AD Stiff Shaft…with A1 setting…I’m still struggling to adjust to the standard 9.5 loft and think about to adjust to higher loft…..was ok with my previous 10 loft driver …

    • @stephprime
      @stephprime 3 года назад

      @@andrikristianto2577 i have it in 10.5 degrees and dropped it to 9.75 - why do you have problems adjusting? is the ballflight wrong?

    • @andrikristianto2577

      @@stephprime: Yes when I first tried this couple days ago, it was way too low liner for me who just started golf again since last month after more than 10 years inactive. My previous driver was loft 10, 400 cc but It was ok and the ball flight consistently. When change to 915D2 9.5 standar setting, it all changed dramatically. Plan to adjust the setting to at least D4 (10.25) for next. This is my first adjustable driver though, maybe I need to get used to it.

    I hit the M2 recently. Never gotten numbers like it from any other driver I've hit. It's a great club. On a side note I just hit the M2 3 wood today and it's a thing of beauty.

    Thanks for the post Mark! I have both of these Drivers and have to say, much as I love the look and feel of the Titleist (and goes nicely in my bag with my titleist irons), my M2 which I only recently acquired (remembering how I hit a mates back in 2017 in Ireland) goes like and absolute Rocket all day long! 250 average for the Titleist versus up above 270 with the M2! Puttin the Titleist headcover on the M2 and in the Titleist bag she goes! Take care mate!

    love and understand this video. I have a 913 d3 and a M1 430. I too get very similar numbers out of both but some days I play one better than the other. keep up the great work Mark.

    I love the feel of the Titleist. When I hit the Taylormade it felt off for my high swing speed. It must have been the shafts that I was hitting. I went full Titleist this time, 915D2, 915F, 716mb, sm5 wedges, and the golo 3.

    I notice the M2 was set to lower which would put the loft at 8.5 degrees and set the face angle 4 degrees open.The D2 was set to A1 which puts the loft at 9.5 and the face angle at 1/2 degree open.The open face should take the left side out of play for the most part.I found I had to go down in loft with the D2 to get the best results.The lower loft seems to result in more ball speed for me.

    • @ashleydutton7548

      It was a 10.5 head set to lower so it was 9.5

      The M2 has a 2 degree sleeve up or down.10.5 set to lower is - 2 degrees which is 8.5 .In the video it shows it set to lower unless he changed it after.

    I have been testing all kinds of new drivers and narrowed it down to those two clubs. I found my best numbers in both clubs when they were in their standard position. The numbers that I got for the M2 were outstanding compared to the 915 it gave me very low spin and more than 15 years carry. M2 all the way!

    I actually threw down on a TM M2. I hated the M1 when it came out, and that thought made me hit it terrible. The gimmicky weights really turn me off and I wasn't the biggest fan of the 2 color crown.
    Then I met the little brother M2. I don't know what it is that makes it work for me more, but I hit fairways with it more than anything. It really is easier for me to make good contact with this. Mark - great video and hope you are enjoying Augusta. Is there value do you think in also comparing each head to head against a third driver as a "control" say your XR Pro each test? This should help to eliminate some day to day or hour to hour variances and by using the same control club each test you can feel how you are swinging and striking it video to video?

    Would the 9.5 loft vs the 10.5 loft have anything to do with the carry difference

  • @johanmelander4521
    @johanmelander4521 8 лет назад

    Do you, Mark Crossfield, check the actual loft on drivers when testing? I've checked the loft on the drivers I've been using and there's quite a big variation. Since I've only had one Cobra, one Nike and one TaylorMade it's diffcult to say anything at all since loft might not always be as the ones I've used. Any thoughts? Would love your input!!!

    M2 is by far the longest driver I've ever tested. The best drives were around 123 mph CHS -> 178 mph BS -> 2300 backspin -> 320 carry -> 350 total -> and the real kicker anywhere b/w 5-100 yards off line lol

    Hi Mark, Can I ask for some advice, maybe you could do a video on it. I struggle with my long irons and am looking to replace my 3 and 4 irons. I also have a big gap (distance wise) between my 3 iron and the next club up which is my 3 wood, so I would be looking for 3 hybrids to fill these gaps. What should the lofts be on these prospective new hybrids to fill the gap between 5 iron and 3 wood. I know you'll probably say "get fitted" but an idea would be appreciated. Many thanks...

    Is there a relationship between swing-speed and spin-rate for max distance? If I can produce X-swing-speed do I have an optimum spin-rate? - ie if the balls does not spin enough I could also loose distance

    Hey Mark.
    I did notice however ru were hitting 10.5 m2 and 9.5 with the D2.
    I have a D2 and get good numbers out it with a 10.5 but I think the ball flight is too high. Could u not try Taylormade on the same loft as the D2 for a comparison. of have you got a reason why u didn't choose same lofts. are the shafts different and the kick points different. be good to know what the numbers would be say if you used to Rogue 70stiff in both and both clubs same lofts.
    what's ur thought on that bud.
    Also how would the m2 compare to the D3.
    Thanks
    Ian

  • @Erictheking66
    @Erictheking66 8 лет назад +1

    Mark, I don't think the D2 can match the M2. In my experience the D2 doesn't generate as much ball speed and spins more... 10 yards difference in carry is huge for clubs built to the same tolerances. I know you would say it's your performance / strike but the numbers were consistent with each driver.

    Titleist for me because the TM heads always seem to crack after a season as compared to titleist. I also have many of my fellow playing partners making the same complaint with Taylor made even when using "tour" serial numbers from the van! QC on Taylor Made is just not great! Shoot I still have my 975d from college that I can take out from time to time just for a change up! All of my old TM heads are cracked!
