100% get the Turbo Optima kit Ari, that's the best kit Kyosho have rereleased so far. The Fantom not only looks amazing, it also runs really well and is super fun on carpet. The body splits across the front arches really easily, so some reinforcement is a really good idea as you are going to run it.
Hey Gav, Thanks for the suggestion and tips. I had a Tubo Optima NIB but sold it. Kind of Regret it now. You are right, it is their best one to date. As for the Fantom, I ran it around the Fender Bender Speedway during practice time. I drove beautifully... I'm hoping this upcoming weekend while i'm there I can get 2-3 other guys to come down with theirs and we can run a Fantom Race.
Looks great, lovely paint job! I've been on and off with this for a year now, and now again I seem to want one, ha ha... Would be cool to run one with 14th scale electronics, I bet it's light and nimble!
Had it out on the Fender Bender Speedway for a test run in between races.... someone came right up behind me and rear ended it and it flipped.. scuffed the body and everyone watching was like .....oooohhhh LOL... after that no more babying or hesitation and I let it rip on the track...
It looks fantastic and I would be terrified to go out and bang it up racing! The car itself looks really cool and the custom paint on the body really sets it apart from the others! Kyosho makes some really great kits to build. I just built the Optima Pro and everything just falls right into place on them. Thankfully a bit more room for the wiring on that one! LOL!! Have fun with it out on the track!
I thought the same at first... when it came out. Grew on me and when I saw my friends, it looked like fun.. After testing it out I'm glad I purchased one.
I loved this build… except for the chain. I used a Fantom 1 body because for some reason I like the look better. I actually took it to the track and it was awesome. I did the gold one as well with some custom anodized parts… that’s for the shelf. The chain was just as brutal as the first time.
Thanks for the comment. The chain is interesting. It looks like a lot of slop as it hangs but once you give it a little juice the chain tightens up. I was advised by 2 guys I race/hang with not to take too many links out.. and sure enough they were right. Had it out on our asphalt makeshift track for 8-10 minutes for practice no problems...
I am so going to have to do my other builds of these. I built my white and green one already and have both the other 2 to build yet also and also have the carbon upgrades for each cos they are so damn cheap from H2-RD, if you are remotely interested in putting carbon parts on this they are excellent quality and CRAZY cheap. The Kyosho carbon chassis is $50 US and these guys do one for $19 US.. I love the paintjob done on that too, looks great!
@@RCRetro heh I only just saw this but yeah I did search for it before i typed it so you could find it easy :P I hope they do a set for the new Plasma they are releasing
@@thegreattreon0177 what you saw was with 3 or 4 links taken out. Off camera I took off 2 more if I recall correctly. 3 other guys I run RC cars with have phantoms and theirs is like that as well.
@@thegreattreon0177 I had it out for some practice track time. About 8-10 minutes.. Ran great with no issues. the wires are all neatly tucked away and the batter is held in place on either side with fiberglass tape. No wear marks what so ever.

Could you imagine buying an RC that you don't really like that much play that's the way I feel right now I never like a phantom and maybe it's because I never had my hands on one I do enjoy the gold though I feel like crying right now
This was pretty glued to the track. Might go through tires faster with foam but I was surprised how it handled out on the fender bender speedway. And yes I had it out for some practice time the other day.

Really like the way it came out. Chassis looks great and the paint is amazing.
The car came out amazing. Good luck with the race
Thanks.
This means me and uncle dave are the last ones without one of these. NEW CLASS!
Hahaha NEW CLASS... if we keep adding new classes we'll have to make racing a two day event...
Unreal car, and love the paint! Cheers from this Aussie in China!
Great looking car
The build turned out fantastic, nicely done! Really enjoyed the vid.🤘🏻

It most certainly is.
Paint job came out great always wanted to build one now I’m definitely getting one
Great build! The Fantom is on my wishlist 👍
Beautiful build! The Fantom is awesome. Enjoy running it with your buddies.👍😎

Looks like a beautiful beast Ari. Please drive it carefully. Great work as usual.

Wow, that Fantom shell looks amazing, I love it!! It's a nice little chassis, not really my kind of thing but it looks fantastic.

That looks fabulous Ari..
Thanks
Fantastic kit and build!
Get ready again! Just saw the announcement of Kyosho Legends Plazma rerelease. Currently up for preorder at RCMart

Larry just did 2 bodies for me, they came out great
Very nice looking car.
I wish the pancar I have was 4wd.

Hey thanks for the info on the carbon parts. what is their website? Going to google it now and see if I can find H2-RD. Thanks again.
Found it. 😁

Good job ,looks sharp
Looks awesome!
Love it
It would have been interesting if they made this in tenth scale.
Great video
Awesome
Is there supposed to be that much slop with the chain?

Did you get the regular one too.
No just this one. One is good for me.
Are you going to race it?
Had it out already... and spoiler alert... already scuffed it up..
you weren't before?? 😆 shame! shame!!!
hahaha had inner conflict but after this build and seeing how this ran... yes already ran it....Confirmed..Kyosho Fan Boy I am.
Aren't you still Tamiya fan,boy too?
Fan of Tamiya yes... but Kyosho is sooo good!
Did you pay for that paint job?

@RCRetro Addams playground did mine for free but paid to ship it to him.

Chain is far too slack.
Nope. It's designed that way.
I don't mean to offend you but i'm not a fan of a paint job.
No worries... I like it.
@@RCRetro How much does he charge the paint a body?
The foam tires make this worthless
Not on asphalt

Lmao!! They're great. And idk if you know this, but you can change them. Pretty cool feature
