I absolutely love the old formulation, hoping the new one works as well!

Yes I'd be very interested to see if the new version is as popular. I have a feeling it probably won't be as people will be thinking "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". But because I've never tried the original, I will never know the difference.

Niacinamide it's a wonderful ingredient. I used to use 10% Niacinamide from Paula's Choice but now similarly as Hialuronic Acid you can find it in almost all the products. So there is no need to use it separate. I will have to give it a try to the foundation it looks really interesting.

Yes, it is creeping into lots of products and a very good ingredient it is. If you do try the foundation, let me know what you think!

Great review and looks lovely on you 👍 this is my HG foundation - I love this more than Estée Lauder Double Wear (based on the original formula from Catrice) I just picked up 2 bottles of the new formula version yesterday because Dischem has Catrice makeup hugely discounted at the moment 😃 and I'm hoping the new version is as amazing as the original formula 💝 Your review gives me hope it's still a lovely foundation 😃 I apply with a brush and smooth out with a damp sponge, as this gives me slightly more coverage 🙂

I saw the promo at Dischem after I had purchased mine. I hate missing a bargain! Please let me know how the new version compares and if you like it as much! I'd love to know your thoughts! 🤗 I also think this is nicer than the EL double wear.

This one looks really good on you and it's a great shade match. I tried the previous incarnation on my very dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin - oh dear it wasn't for me lol. It is a lot thinner of a formula btw, but on me was too matte/drying. the palest shade was also too dark for me. I have used it to give a bit of extra coverage to a tinted moisturiser and it worked ok for that on me. It is much more targeted at a less dry skin than mine, so it's not too surprising it worked far better for yourself. This has been a major bestseller for Catrice for quite a long time, so it's interesting they tweaked the formula so much. It makes me wonder if those who liked it before will still like it, as it does look very different.
I just recently tried the Sephora best skin ever foundation - it has a great shade range btw. The very palest shade is a good match for me, but it is a little drying on my skin worn alone. It works much better with some hydrating mist during application, or a tiny drop of oil added. We finally have some better weather here in Scotland, so that's probably also helping. I also tried the Dior backstage face and body - it's a beautiful foundation and sits so well on my skin, but the shade isn't right and needs some white mixer for it to look like a match (unfortunately it changes the texture and isn't quite so beautiful on the skin - which is very frustrating tbh). Do I want to spend the money when the shade isn't quite right, even though it sits so well on my skin? I can make it work in the warmer months, but it will be too dark in the colder months. I haven't quite decided yet, but the hunt for a HG continues. Best wishes.

Hi Loraine. I will be very interested to see how the converts of the original formula take to the new formula. If they are anything like me, (I hate product changes), they will not be amused! I did mean to mention in the video that I didn't think it would work for dry skin. Even with my combo skin, I mixed it with a wee drop of squalane this morning just to give it more moisture. It seems to have worked. I've heard of the Sephora Best Skin ever - sorry to hear it's a bit drying but I'm hoping adding a drop of oil works for you. And regarding the Dior Backstage, I agree with you. When buying an expensive foundation, you don't want to still have to dilute the colour, add oil etc. etc. It just needs to work or it's not worth the price. Drugstore however, is a different story. I don't mind tweaking one or two things if the foundation works! Have a lovely day :)

Would not use powder before foundation make it too patchy

I bought it yesterday, but disappointed as it didn't last longer than about an hour. I used a Primer and Concealer... And my wrinkles just looked more prominent.
    What have I done wrong? I'm 59

I'm so sorry to hear that! Try it without a primer perhaps? Or mix it with a drop of oil before application. What skin type do you have?
