      Thanks, Linda! The next thing I need to try after I do the Fenty review is a half-and-half face with this and Fenty. Based on Stephanie Nicole's ingredient comparison and the likelihood that they came from the same factory overseas, I want to see if they dupe out on me.

    I have horrible hypothyroid dry skin. This is my go to foundation half the year when it’s warm out and get shiny. During the winter I have to switch to Estée Lauder with hydration though. Wish this worked during the winter because the coverage is beautiful and smooth for me.

    Love your red plaid dress & smoky eye!
    I haven't tried this foundation but did try Catrice's Nude Illusion foundation (which I think was the formula before this recent HD one). Nude Illusion had the most gorgeous luminous matte finish that really blurred my fine lines & pores. It was very close to my Armani Luminous Silk foundation! It was also slightly finicky in application (prone to streaking), broke down in 4 hrs & oxidized slightly. The mix I found most effective with it was 1/2 Rimmel Lasting Finish plus 1/2 Nude Illusion- this kept the foundation from breaking down quickly & oxidizing but retained the blurring effect. All Catrice foundations seem to run a bit warm/orange or yellow but I'm very warm complected so it's not a problem. I had heard that this HD foundation was not good for dry skin so I'd avoided it.

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад

      I love my Rimmel LF so I will definitely try mixing this with that!!

    I have to thank you again for this review, if I hadn't seen it, I would not have ever heard of this product. I've been using this foundation a few times now and I absolutely love it!! It's my new Holy Grail! :) I get at least 10 hours of wear and I don't see any breaking down, which for me is usually on my chin. I have also tried the Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer in 010-Porcelain just to see if it was any better than my Milani Retouch + Erase concealer. I have to say that I have also found a new concealer! I don't care for waterproof makeup at all but the Catrice concealer, which is WP is excellent. No creasing or falling into fine lines at all! It also has more coverage than both the Milani and Maybelline Age Rewind. Went out last nite to a birthday dinner party and when I got home and looked in the mirror, my concealer and foundation looked great! :)

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад +1

      That's awesome! I'm testing the Fenty foundation today and indeed, I think the Catrice is a total dupe - except that the finish of the Catrice is even nicer on my skin! I plan to do a half-and-half face comparison video. I need to try that concealer because my current go-to from the drugstore is Age Rewind!

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural 6 лет назад

      Cool! Can't wait to see your half-n-half review. I've been going back and forth between the Milani concealer and the Maybelline Age Rewind. But since trying the Catrice Liquid Camouflage, the other 2 are left in the dust! :D I have fine lines and some crepey skin under my eyes so I need a concealer that both covers and blurs. While I do like the Age Rewind generally, I have to layer it to achieve this. And it does wear off after a few hours. :/ I found the Catrice concealer at a local Ulta store, although not many stores carry the line. But everything is available on their website. The website also has a lighter shade in the concealer; 005-Light Natural. I almost always buy the lightest shade but in the store it looked a bit more yellow than the 010-porcelain, which turned out to be light enough for my skintone. :)

    This look is just a total package! You should show off your dress- I love the pattern! Questions- could you do a Naked Smoky tutorial? Also, what is your favorite drugstore liquid lipstick: Maybelline Matte Ink, Wet n Wild Liquid Catsuit, or the new L'Oréal one?

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад

      I just picked up another of the L'Oreal Infallible yesterday! Honestly I love all 3. WnW is the most comfortable (the L'Oreal is probably second most comfortable, but still just a little sticky), and the Maybelline has the best staying power of the 3. Pretty much first I go by color, and if that doesn't make the decision, then I go by whether or not I'm going to eat with it on. In that case, I'd go either Maybelline or L'Oreal most likely (though WnW can handle a meal, but is more likely to need a touch-up), and if I'm going to eat at work or with other people (and therefore would make a fool of myself if I got lipstick all over my face), I'd go Maybelline.

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад

      And yes - I'll add Naked Smoky to my tutorial list! I just filmed the look from my last Milani review. It should go up the week of the 9th.

    This looks so good on you!! Do you use setting sprays? I have found that some
    Hydrating setting sprays can work well under and over super matte foundations. I absolutely love Mario Bedescu (i hope that is how you spell it lol) has a rose facial spray that I use under at over my foundation depending on the formula.

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад +1

      I always screw up Mario's name lol! I don't use setting spray when I do reviews, but for regular wear I probably remember it half of the time. I also have the Tatcha dewy mist which is amazing and I always forget to spray it on before I do my foundation. It really helps when I remember it.

    • @daproduction7820
      @daproduction7820 6 лет назад

      Geek Out of Water yeah that makes sense for reviewing! I know for me most foundations give me problems without using a combination of powder and/or setting spray so they would all fail lol!! But this was a really awesome review :). I have used this foundation many times and consider it one of my go to drugstore priced foundations. I have combo oily skin where i have oil in the tzone and dry on outer perimeter so that could make a difference too :)

      Geek Out of Water I’ve heard from quite a few people that this Catrice Foundation is a near 90% dupe for the Fenty Foundation.
      Please keep that in mind while doing your review. I’d love to hear your thoughts about it being a dupe or not. (You’re my skin type twin!)

  • @lovemyrainydays
    @lovemyrainydays 6 лет назад

    Well that's a bit of a bugger - it started out so very nice! The slightest hint of orange is not kind to my pale super-cool skin so I was wondering how long was it before you got the oxidation orange goin' on? Since I'm not working these days, I don't really need a 10 hour foundation anymore, 4 to 5 hours of good performance is probably enough, as long as it doesn't orange-up. Oooh - have you seen BH Cosmetics new foundation? I just got the big ole email newsletter thingy this week about it. I think it's just a revamp of the original one (the one with the 18-odd shade choice range, not the Studio Pro one) since the 18 shades seem to be the same, but I'd love to see some reviews and wear tests on it. Oh and I just love that colour red on you!!

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад

      I'd say about 4 hours before I noticed any color change. I just ordered a BH foundation but I just checked and it's the old formula. The ingredients are very similar to the new formula but arranged differently. Probably a waste to review the old one now!

    Did you hear the info that this foundation is very ingredient similar to Fenty? Stephanie Nicole, I think, mentions it in her Fenty vid. Also, Angie at Hot & Flashy did a Fenty vid & it sounds like it cracked up/broke up similar. It's a real bummer when it applies so beautifully and totally fakes you out.

      I haven't tried any of the new shades but I've gone through about half a bottle of this! I haven't worn it recently but it's definitely good! I should check out the new shades. I think the one shade lighter would be a little too yellow for me. 040 Warm Beige actually looks like a pink undertone to me and looks like it would be my summer shade.

    It actually looks nice on face just center has some orangeness. But doesn’t look bad. I just found you and I love you! Also that Laura Gellar palette is back at Ulta. Can I ask your advice. I’m a huge makeup addict but always higher end Sephora brands and I actually went on a insomnia shopping spree of $2k charging up my card lol on gifts for people and items for me. Funny thing is I’m bedridden and disabled and never leave but for doctors with transport lol soooo it’s all pointless for me hope it can keep. That’s my question is how long can I keep makeup like highlighters liquid lipsticks eyeshadows? Also I wanna try and do some makeup for holidays even though I see hardly anyone (no one wants to visit the sick girl in my family if ya can call them that) anywho what foundation do you recommend that’s high full coverage for combo skin that isn’t expensive since I won’t be wearing it but maybe a few times this year. For Xmas and hopefully my sons graduation if these next surgeries help enough. I can’t sit up longer than 5min so having more neuro surgeries and spinal cord stimulation done etc. thank you. Sorry for rambling I tend to do that now lol

    • @goow
      @goow  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you! I don't think of makeup as something I do for anybody else. Heck, I'll put on a full face just to go to the post office. I do it because I find the whole process relaxing and creative and I enjoy that time I spend working on a look, and it just makes me feel good. So I would say, you do you, regardless of who you will or won't see! As for how long it lasts, most makeup items have a little logo on their packaging to indicate how long it is good for once it's opened. Many say 6 months, 12 months, or 18 months. But honestly I think it varies. In some cases it's really accurate - there's an ingredient in the product that might oxide when exposed to air, or grow mold, or something like that. But in some cases it doesn't seem to make a difference. For example, I have an eyeshadow palette that I've literally had for 5 years and I still use it, and it still performs beautifully. I'm sure there's a higher likelihood that by now I've gotten eye germs in it or something, but it seems to work fine. So I just judge it by how the product looks or performs. If it dries out or stops working, I throw it away. If it looks or smells funny, I throw it away. If something looks like it's growing on it, I throw it away. (That's never happened to me, but a friend had a lipstick that looked like it was growing mold). Otherwise, I keep using it. Have you tried the Catrice foundation? It really is my new drugstore love. And make sure you catch this Friday's foundation video - it's another drugstore one that worked out really well for me! A new release. That's kind of a spoiler but after last week's Jouer disaster, we need some good news! I also really like Rimmel foundations. I like the Lasting Finish one, but that's more for dry skin. They have a matte one that I haven't tried but gets great reviews from combo/oily people. I'm glad you can at least enjoy makeup and I hope your next surgeries go well!

      Geek Out of Water wow thank you for the long in-depth caring reply! I truly appreciate it. Yeah I know I always used to only do makeup for me. How it made me feel. How it was like my therapy to sit in front of mirror with my coffee and music and for an hour just relax and make myself feel pretty. But now cause I can’t even sit up long and pains so bad I need to just do something fast and rushed like only foundation and powder if lucky. I’m the type of person that I wouldn’t even go to mail box without makeup. So for these past 3 yrs now having to go to doctors in a neck brace and transport feeling ugly and having skin issues it’s killing me. So that’s why I’d like to try to atleast for holidays wear a lil like a 10min makeup job or maybe have someone come do it for me. Just so I can have a picture with son and feel not yucky like I don’t want anyone seein me. No I haven’t tried Catrice that’s why I found your video searching for reviews on it. So do you like it now then when you got your right color or did you still have some issues with after hours of wear I think you said it separated by nose and chin or maybe I’m getting my videos confused. I just ordered two of the ones you mentioned in your reply. I have no idea my color so I ordered 3of each lol 😂 you do fantastic makeup I love how your eyes look especially in this

      Oooh goodie - I'm dying to see the TF Peach on slightly dryer, more life-experience-enhanced (LOL) skin. Looking forward to that one. If it's good I'll have to work out how to get my hot little Aussie hands on it.

    stink! I had high hopes for this one but prob not for me either, I have dryer skin and am 49 years old so I think ill pass so thank you! BTW I am a DIE HARD fan of Kat Von D products and have just purchased the Saint and Sinner Palette and I can't believe I am saying this...kinda hate it. I was wondering if you bought it yet, I was hoping you were going to do a review and tutorial before I returned it, maybe I'm not using it right?? I have no idea what the heck is happening LOL

      I did grab Saint & Sinner and have just started messing around with it! I'm really enjoying it - I've got a review/look video at the top of my list to film next! Probably for the week of Oct 9? If not, the next week. Sephora has 90 day returns so you should be all good :-D
