@@CyclopsWasRight understandable. That’s how I am with more separatist heavies like the tri droid and hail fire. Not very likely, but I’m still hopeful
I use 3 squads of speederbikes with comms jammers and they are very cheap and very annoying for the enemy at 80 points each. They're great for opportunistic attacks against any targets that are exposed, for instance jedi or characters that haven't activated yet or have no tokens, rooting out sniper teams or even getting behind vehicles with their native impact 2. You can get a lot of hits considering they can usually move fast, aim, and attack and the comms jammers make them a real pain for certain lists. I use them alongside vader and either they die and he survives to wreck face, or he goes down and they are untouched and causing damage the whole game. Edit: forgot to mention that because they are 2 models in a unit, you can split fire and are very likely to score suppression on 2 units each. Combine this with Vaders' 3 pip card and you can completely shut down some armies.
Viable strategy but I think a player could react to it pretty effectively if they know what’s coming. I’ve tried running similar stats with BARCs and they get shut down pretty easily with focused fire. I can’t imagine it being better with a unit that loses half its dice pool after 3 wounds. That being said it’s certainly a good sniper counter.
I believe in the case of lando the aa5 was close on his heals and instantly washed any interest in him out kallus due to low morale amongst dedicated imperial players and player count has probably just not seen enough table time to find his place.
And here we are :) speeder being seen a lot. I personally love em for cheap flanking units. I must say im very suprised by this list --- you seem to dislike a lot of what i love :) maybe is a change of the times of the game.
I just don’t see it, unless there’s some serious contingency shenanigans I’m missing out on. Then again I’m also not an empire player and my experience playing them is mostly R1 lists.
@@HollywoodWargaming Kallus is a fairly good bandaid for playing against a single saber wielder, especially defensive ones like Kenobi or non force wielder melee like Grievous, for half price than a normal saber wielder, so pairing Iden with him gives you huge options in the Command hand
@@jackwilliams1039 Fair. I guess time will tell. He’s a character with new keywords and vague synergies. I can see some clever players come up with some synergies that I haven’t thought of yet. I really want players with experience using him to chime in.
You say it's too late for the Dewback to get new keywords, but AMG seems to disagree! Since they're adding "compel" to Core Set Vader! Hopefully they make many more changes to make sure our sweet Empire continues to be ultra competitive in any situation.
Thanks for the video. Couple of people have already pointed out that your rankings are opposite to Fifth trooper but it's each to their own. I'd definitely say death troopers are D not S, in my experience they are too expensive and just get pierced off the board. Krennic doesn't have good enough action economy and you have to play him with DTs. Inferno I agree don't work right now and are so expensive. I thought Kallus was pretty good the one time I played with him but I agree his gun is pricey. I don't think I'd put anything in Empire at S and I'd say only Iden and maybe Bossk are A. Empire are just too expensive for what you get and need a big errata imo.
A couple of questions/comments: 1. Imperial Officer (Karen) has been a great pick for me, I usually run her with Electrobinoculars and put her in the thick with some corps units. Handing out 2 Aim tokens and Inspiring off a suppression is pretty darn useful. Her being cheap lets me fit in an extra heavy weapon or two. I think she is better than what you are giving her credit for. 2. Can you elaborate on Krennic? How do you use him to good effect? I've tried him but was underwhelmed. His 1 pip is great, his 2 pip is good with DTs and in certain situations, but I can take that cheap officer (Karen) with binocs and she can contribute a couple of aim tokens and remove a suppression every round and not worry about her timing aside from "go early." 3. I've been running a Dewback in my last few games, and if we are adhering to traditional tier list definitions I'd suggest it being low B tier. RT-97C + Endurance; take an Aim, move and shoot with relentless with surge to hit. I've been using it to move up a flank and harass snipers/objective grabbing corps squads. Even with a single spur move that big base covers some serious ground. I'd call it B tier because it doesn't have the durability to take on a couple of heavy squads, but it can sure cause trouble for lone sniper teams or naked corps squads that are trying to cover an objective. In that respect it's earned it's keep in my games so far.
Lmao she does have a Karen haircut. Let me elaborate though. 1. The Imperial Officer is a fine Option, It’s just that Veers is practically the same unit but better. I think it’s the extra command card hand that pushes me majorly in favor of veers. He’s also more durable and has an extra command upgrade and can engage enemies at range 3 with Pierce (yes he has a rifle not a pistol). I just don’t think the Imperial Officer, stripped down to just Inspire 1 and Spotter 2 is worth 53 points. 2. Krennic is a difficult commander to use properly but can really get the gears in your list turning when you do. Compel and Cunning are fantastic keywords and Annihilation Looms can really screw your opponent over late game. Personally I was going to rank him 1 tier lower but every imperial player I reached out to told me he was A or S tier. I have lost to him several times before too. 3. As far as the Dewback goes, maybe it’ll make it to B tier. Idk. Nobody seems to run them which isn’t a great sign. I really like the unit they’re just kind of awkward for an imperial list.
I play snowtroopers with shoretrooper cards. Their emplacement theme goes well with the snowtrooper E-web cannon. Expensive but fits their theme. I paint them in the GAR galactic marines color scheme
I've found that those who dislike bikes don't know how to use them properly. I always take at least one set in my Imperial lists and use them to harass my opponent's flanks and rear.
They are great flankers/harassers. They are a bit fragile but early activation, dodge, with their native speed 1 makes them tough. Also if they are going after your speeders, they are NOT going after something else. I don’t get the hate.
Have to disagree heavily with some of the units and where they are placed. The Death trooper in S tier seems really high for a unit with a low model count, lack of newer offensive keywords or pierce, and a dummy high price tag. Mix that with the fact that snipers/pierce are everywhere right now and you are going to have a bad time watching one of your most expensive units on the table just die.
Well, I wonder how Bobby is C, while speeder bikes are D. Bobby with upgrades will cost u almost 150 points. And it is 2!!! Speeder bikes. On Speeder bikes side, you have to get at least two of them to let them work. They are not fighters on their own, that's for sure, but they can create a lot of space for your main army, and punish opponent hard enough with decent attack pool and ability to score victory points on the other side of the table for some scenarios, if they don't deal with them first. Saying that, by no means they are easy to play. People rushing them into the enemy forces with out any plan or attempts to manoeuvre and block LOS. Also change in rules, where you allowed to chose to perform compulsory move after activation instead of before make them even better. I personally would put them in B as powerful, but very specific and hard to play unit. On the other side, Bobby can't provide solid attack pool, or cover half of the table in one activation. I am really sad about how week bobby is :(. P.S. I also believe LAAT going to shift meta quite a lot, and we may see more speeders following laats with some serious "drop bombs".
I’ve actually heard the LAAT has been pretty lackluster in the competitive scene. But honestly I think the Legion Meta is so fragile that could change anytime
Your list is the opposite that I’ve seen. The fifth trooper for example, says Commander Vader isn’t currently usable and operative Vader is A tier. XD.
I don’t really get their listings, but they’ve been on the scene a lot longer than me and have a lot more experience with the OT factions and competitive scenes, so maybe there’s something I’m missing.
S: Dark Troopers, Bossk, Vader (Operative),
