- Almost two decades later, Lucky Star was performed live again, on the Confessions Tour. After the exhausting La Isla Bonita, Madonna crashes down on stage, but backup singers Nicki & Donna bring her back on her feet, covering her with a magical cape, which reads "Dancing Queen" on the back (another Abba reference, while the rest of her outfit is a combination of Agnetha's & Frida's from their late 70s tour). As Madonna opens the cape, the inside shows twinkling disco balls (lucky stars?). Madonna performs a great version of Lucky Star, sung over the instrumental of Hung Up, together with Donna and Nicki (the only time the backup singers get their part in the spotlight). At the end of the song, Madonna asks the audience if they want more and sings the chorus of Hung Up, then goes offstage for her final costume change, building up the anticipation for the encore.

As I was born when she released Ray of Light, Confessions made me a Madonna fan for life as a 7 year old back then in 2005.
I miss this Madonna.... all this is definitely gone unfortunately.
this is not just her best tour but also the best DVD she has ever made of her tours.
Madama X was incredible. The tour was even better. The thing is Madonna will never repeat herself and as such will never do a Confessions tour again, it was a huge love letter to her classic pop roots and massive queer fanbase. Why would she need to keep repeating this??? They would call her a one trick pony, like Kylie Minogue who has spent the last 2 decades pandering to her queer pop roots. Its boring. Not many got to see her Madame X tour but for those that did, it was an experience they'll never forget. It was everything tours like this are not! And she is FAR from over, sorry to disappoint. She has more creativity in her little finger than Gaga, Taylor & Beyonce combined
This is such a lie. I saw her live in Berlin with her Celebration tour and she was incredible
I ADORE the coreography in this one, because is not about dance but about walking, which is way harder. Their legs are ALWAYS synchronized, it's insane!!!

My fav Madonna concert, loved the homage to ABBA with the white Dancing Queen cape, the jumpsuit almost a replica to what Agnetha and Frida wore during ABBA's '79 world tour, and of course the sampling of their song Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie...for Lucky Star and Hung Up.

and the music behind her song Lucky Star is from ABBA's "Gimme Gimme Gimme" which Madonna blended into her song "Hung Up". Very kewlio. Benny worked with Madonna on her song Hung Up. So here it is again!

ABBA's song "Dancing Queen" was made a 17 year old girl dancing for her life reference in 1976 . Madonna's Age back on the day, pure coincidence. I see a huge reference about lucky star for ABBA career ironically here. This performance has a huge well made impact. And it's pretty clear about Madonna made the next pop level after ABBA creation. That's why Hung UP is a huge success. pop times was occasionally connected.
